I drive 1179 miles without brakes Because the trailer cargo 6 12 brakes wasnâ€™t connected to my van I lost my van brakes and the hall brakes system are damaged and scratched need to be replace And my 2 kids and my wife and I in the car we live in danger the hall trip from Michigan to Daytona beach Florida To fix the braking system in the van We are talking about at least 2500$ Nb* hitch set by U haul 327$ Trailer 862$ Itâ€™s disaster
Location was supposed to be open on Saturday till Noon. Took truck back at 10:30am and location was closed. Had a dolly and had to leave that in the back of a unlocked truck because we had no way of letting anyone know the truck was even there. Also, tried using the online drop off app. That didn't work. You all need to work on your communication.
Dirty and unkept. Had to dig the trailer out of the snow.

The rental place was run down. The gentlemen who helped me was very nice but he was having difficulty getting the computer to go through the various steps and a 5 minute process took about 45 minutes. I was also very upset that I left half of a tank of gas in the vehicle (picked it up with only 1/4 tank) and I received no credit whatsoever for the extra fuel. This truck had a HUGE tank on it. It took $120 to fill it from 1/4 tank at pick up to full. That extra 1/4 tank I left it with was worth about $40. On top of that, I turned the truck in 1 day early and no credit for that either. Certainly doesnâ€™t make me want to ever rent from uhaul again or recommend it to others. Iâ€™ll stick with Hertz or Budget or Home Depot from now on if this is how you operate.
So my experience really had nothing to do with the location it is with the equipment. My last two experiences with U-haul have been below average. In the vehicle before this the back and cab were full of what seemed to be cement dust. Had to clean cab and mop back several times. That location said they tried to clean it...well if you canâ€™t get it clean why are you renting it to me? This time I was given a truck I didnâ€™t want, but was told the person who had the size truck I ordered did not bring the truck back. So I ended up with an older much larger POS vehicle. The back was clean, but was bigger than what I wanted which made parking and unloading at my destination difficult and used more gas (did not need a big truck). As I drove away from location I rented from just a few miles down the road a different U-haul location had two of the trucks I needed sitting out front. I get it , they may have been rented, but they were still there when I went back so doubt it; would have appreciated more effort to get me into the vehicle I had requested.
There were some problem in the system and they thought that we borrow more pads, but we didn't. We asked them to check with the other U-haul location and we called the other location. Instead of calling each other, they just charged money first.
Shame on you for subjecting a customer to an unsafe truck like this. First of all I booked this truck for a Troy U-haul but when my confirmation came, it was for a truck in another city. After being put on hold twice by your call center, I was told they couldnâ€™t change it. I arrived to get the truck for a later pick-up. The owner never inspected or pulled up truck. He gave me a key and I had to ask where it was located. Upon pick up, he was gone. Check engine on, the truck had been in an un-repaired collision to drivers QP and door, front end and the chrome factory bumper was not replaced. They had a used temp plastic bumper that I promise does not meet safety standards. It stalled twice and would not upshift in drive to minimum highway speed. I took it back early because I was afraid of breakdown. I contacted roadside last night and heard nothing today? On top of that they charged my CC an extra fee. I am contacting BBB!
It would be nice to not have to upload my drivers license every time I rent something. It makes the entire rental process take way too long. I rented a trailer just last month and had to go through the same whole process again.
In and out with the equipment super fast. Not a fancy facility with all kinds of people asking questions taking up a bunch of time. For people who know what they need and have rented trucks/trailers before, this is the place to go. No hassle, no lines, get it and go!
I think If you Book with one location, the unit should be at the location, had no idea I was being sent to a new location.

The pick up was quite different from the place I went to get information. The pick up location was pretty much a garage. Not very clean. The man that came to wait on me actually have dirty hands from working on a vehicle. He was was not very efficient on the computer, so the process took longer that I anticipated. He was not friendly at first but was helpful went he learned this 72 year old female was going to drive across the state alone. He went patiently over safety issues.
The Uhaul representative was very nice, problem is I reserved a 10 foot vehicle and was forced to take a 26 foot truck, which caused me to spend twice as much on gas than anticipated I strongly feel I should be reimbursed for the inconvenience Paul Kutschman 586-804-3545

The truck I received did not have a full tank of gas. They should have told me. I was not told what to do when returning the truck, just had to figure it out on my own. I was not given a receipt or sent an email with confirmation. They overcharged me for the wrong amount and never called or emailed me about this either. I had to call UHaul number to get it fixed.
Everything worked out great
The price I was quoted to utilize the rental trailer and drop it off at another U-Haul location was extremely too high ( around $80). I had to drive the rental trailer from Shelby Twp to Detroit, then return the trailer back to Shelby Twp; and there is a U-Haul store two blocks from where the items were delivered. I drove the same type of trailer from Lansing, MI (one way) and paid that amount or less. Highway Robbery!!! Very disappointed.
Did not offer to help us with dispute over truck not working properly. U-haul was to check into our problem with the economy switch that was broken and we used more gas than we should have. We were supposed to have a claim opened but nobody ever called us back to discuss the problem. We will use another company next time like Hertz or Enterprise, as we were never reimbursed for the adjustment of gas cost due to poor truck quality. e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org for any further questions.

Person who helped me was very nice and helpful. The seat belt buckle casing on the driver's seat needs to be fixed. It would be helpful if the online reservation showed the estimated amounts that were calculated when putting together the reservation.
