Employee/ Owner arrived on location at 9:45 a.m. and let us know he still had to drop his mother off at home and would be back. The location was supposed to open at 8 a.m. and our pick up was scheduled for 9 a.m. I had tried calling the business phone, cell number posted in window of business, and was talking to a U-Haul representative from 1-800 number before he arrived. He was frazzled from the beginning, had a difficult time turning on and working his computer and printer, had to leave to go to the bank for change even though I had called ahead to say I’d be paying cash. It took nearly an hour to check in when we’d alread signed in online. Overall we ended up 2+ hours late getting home and started than planned. The man also tried saying something about he thought pick up wasn’t until 11 a.m. when we’d made the change to 9 a.m. in advance. He clearly hadn’t stayed up to date on the reservation, did not contact us regarding any problems, and then tried to blame us for the fact that he wasn’t on time. When I presented him with cash he expounded at length upon the reasons why it is better to use credit or debit card than cash and how most people ‘our age’ don’t use cash anymore and he thinks it’s better not to. Additionally the location was dirty, smelly, and left me unwilling to even sit in the one guest chair there was even though I’m still recuperating from a knee surgery. I’m fully aware that this location is also an auto repair shop, which are rarely the cleanliest of locations, however this was an altogether different level of filth. We were unrealistically delayed, blamed for his incompetence, and left frustrated and insulted.

The owner of the business was 20 minutes late when we came to pick up our truck. He was also late when we brought it back on Monday. Poor service. The lady who called us to confirm our reservation and tell us when to pick the truck up was very rude. We will be using a different company next time.
