I can't comment on the people at the location or how the experience would have differed had they been open. However, the text msg with drop-off instructions did not indicate that this was a non-Uhaul branded drop site and that it would be closed at 5pm. It was difficult to spot and the Uhaul rep (after-hours answering service) told me that I could not do after-hours drop at that location when I arrived and called to confirm the location was correct. A lenghthy back-and-forth and finally a chat with scheduling confirmed that I indeed could leave the truck there - after suggesting first that I drive it (after having just filled the fuel tank) to another city to drop there. And, the shop had very limited space to park the truck/trailer.

Had an appointment and had already filled out information for a speedy transaction, the shop only has one person that deals with U-Haul. That person was 20 mins late and the other employee was rude. I was paying 2 people to sit around and wait. Disappointing!

Numerous problems w/ rental including the fact that I was told they were closed when I arrived at 3:30 to pick up my reserved trailer (posted hours say they're open until 5). I called UHaul customer service seven days ago and am still awaiting a return call from your representative. VERY POOR SERVICE from start to finish.

Clearly UHaul is a side business at this location. I arrived on time but the uhaul agent was late and no one from the brake side was willing to assist but was actually quite rude. I had a reservation number but the truck I reserved was not there and I was given a van instead and urged to return no later than 4. When I returned at 4 the uhaul agent was not even there. Not a great experience.

when I reserve a truck and trailer. I get there and they don't have the trailer'i have to pick up a trailer 15 miles away at another uhaul. truck doasnt have hitch ball so I have to rent one.also charged double the mileage because I had to drive extra to return trailer at other location.

The UHaul truck I rented is kept at a local establishment (Brake Stop). While I rented the truck and was satisfied with the quality and condition of the vehicle, I will likely use this location as a secondary or last resort option because of the Brake Stop manager who coordinates with the UHaul truck owner. I just bit my tongue because I wanted to get through the rental, but the Brake Shop guy was disrespectful and treated the whole rental as if it was just an inconvenience for me to be there. I suspect that the Brake Shop has little or nothing to gain from UHaul rentals. Regardless, customers should be treated with respect if the UHaul vehicle is going to be rented from this location.

The staff at this location were all very friendly, cordial and polite. My concerns are more with their procedures. From the customer perspective this location is far more interested in their repair service customers than they are with their U-Haul customers. I arrived and they acknowledged my reservation. They said they had to call someone to complete the transaction which seemed strange. They placed two phone calls to repair service customers before making the call to (what turned out to be) remotely located other location for this company. Once the call was made to this location the person who needed to talk to me was not available so I was told a call would be coming. All this with no explanation of what was going on and why there was the delay and why the transaction wasn't happening directly at this location. 35 minutes later the call finally came in from the remote location. The person again was very polite and apologized for the delay. But again gave no explanation acting like this was their standard operating procedure. Frustrated at this point I asked what was going on. He responded with, "oh, our U-Haul guy at your location is sick." This of course was clearly a cover answer for what is their standard procedures (only one person at the repair shop that could transact the U-Haul rental?). He proceeded to ask questions that were already answered on the online application. For instance asking me to select the drop off location when I'd already established that. He then also said he'd throw in an extra bag of moving blankets no charge for my wait but then I was charged for them on the invoice. Once finished this remotely located person scanned and faxed the contract to the location I was located at. So I was handed a 8.5" x 11" piece of paper with very faded printing and the process created very small text as the document was shrunk down. No official U-Haul contract and no U-Haul cover envelope for the contract as I've always received in the past. So, over an hour later I'm finally hooked up and ready to go. Hopefully you can understand my frustration. Please also understand I rarely to almost never respond to surveys but I felt compelled to do it this time. Regards, Rich Dunn

The customer service at this location was HORRIBLE. I showed up on time to my appointment and the U-Haul rep wasn't even there to check me in. After 35 minutes of waiting, another employee at this location called into U-Haul to put me in touch with a rep to sign me in over the phone. The representative on the phone was very rude, condescending, and made me feel like he was doing me a favor by checking me in to rent the truck. Although the equipment was nice, I will think twice before booking U-Haul for any of my other hauling needs in the future.

Apparently, I got there before the U Haul people did. When I pulled into Brake Stop and Auto Repair, the mechanic? said "YOU CAN'T PARK THERE" very rudely. I was stopping to ask where to park. Wasn't even out of my vehicle. Then another impatient guy walked up and told me where to park. I don't know if these guys are associated with U Haul but they reflect very negatively on the U Haul brand. Etiquette training is suggested. All my past experiences with U Haul have been above average or excellent. Severely disappointed.

Have an employee who shows up on time, cleans the truck, attaches the auto transport correctly, cleans the windshield and gives some instructions like which side the gas cap is on and doesn't think all women are incapable of driving a truck pulling an auto are incapable of driving it from Oceanside to Phoenix, AZ.

I completed a drop off when the location was closed. The key and contract box was clearly marked. I called to check in and the person verified all was well. Good overall, assuming nothing comes up in the next few days. I did appreciate the ability to drop off after hours since I had an early train Monday morning that wouldn't have allowed me to complete the return in person.

Upon pickup of the uhaul, the guy had no idea what he was doing and tried giving me a uhaul with completely bald tires that wouldn't have even made it 100 miles. On top of that when he hooked up the second trailer, he didn't even lock it and it came unhooked and only held on by the chains. Luckily it didn't cause any damage to my vehicle. I would not recommend going anywhere other than an actual uhaul center

Place was alright for a drop off. Only complaint was that we showed up around 4:15 and they were already closed, so we had to leave the keys in the Dropbox. It was concerning having to leave it overnight before someone could check the mileage, etc.

This place was nice and clean. In a easily located area. However uhaul needs to do a better job of describing where to drop off equipment. I spent 3 hours driving to different locations that "were drop off locations". One of the locations was not even available for drop offs. When I called for an actual drop off unit I went there to find out the place was closed, during stated business hours. This is very frustrating when you are on a time schedule yourself and not to say paying for extra miles and the expensive gas that goes into it. I am very disappointed in my rental with uhaul in the Southern California area.

Owner of this store is rude and completely unhelpful. He wants nothing to do assisting U-Haul customers. He almost hung up on me the morning of my reservation when I called to confirm the time of pick-up, he wouldn't help me when I showed up to his business to pick up the U-Haul, instead making me wait for one of his employees to come help me, he yelled at me that I parked the U-Haul in the wrong spot when I brought it back and overcharged me for the use of the U-Haul. He charged me for a dolly and moving pads that I never requested, received or used. When I called him about the overbilling he told me to call back later. I argued with him that he was the owner of the business and ultimately responsible for the overbilling but he still refused to assist me. I have been waiting all day for someone to call me but have not received a call. I will have to call American Express to dispute the charge. U-Haul has a very good reputation and this man is tarnishing it. I'll carry my belongings on my back before I ever go back to this location

Don't let the repair shop personnel interact with the uhaul rental folks. The guy at the desk (prior to the uhaul guy coming in) was very rude. Good thing I wasn't renting from him I would have walked out. The uhaul guy was fantastic!
