This was a horrible U-haul experience!! I made a reservation online for a one way trip. I was given the truck and apparently it was a in town truck only. When I went to return the truck the next day, they wouldn't take it back at the location closest to where I moved. I had to drive the truck all the way back to San Diego from Orange County on New Year's eve. It was a complete waste of time and horrible experience. The people who rented it to me then tried to blame it on lack of training, if there was a lack of training then those people should not be able to rent trucks to customers. I do not suggest getting a one way U-haul rental from this location.

I was instructed to return the truck before 8:00 AM on my contract. Rolled up to this location at 7:55 AM and the gate was not open wide enough to enter the parking lot. Since its a busy street, I was forced to drive around the block and reproach. I was not invited into the office until 8:15 AM because the only employee on site was moving trucks. Once in the office, the windows XP software was having trouble loading the U-haul CRM. It took 30 minutes to complete the drop off process and I was the first arrival. Based on my experience with U-haul during this move, I'm convinced that the company is stuck in the early 2000s and is not properly investing in its systems and staff to ensure convenience for the customers. There are a lot of moving truck options out there and I think I'll take my business elsewhere going forward.

My experience with U-Haul was horrific. I paid $250 to rent a truck for one day to drive from San Diego County to Long Beach empty, then back. If I had rented the truck in Long Beach it would have cost me about $100. When I complained to U-Haul about the HOURS I spent on the phone just trying to get arrangements completed (including U-Haul employees - not franchise locations - telling me three contradictory things), I was promised a $50 refund THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. The only people who really knew what they were talking about, the only people who provided good customer service, the only people who conducted business ethically and well were the people at the non-company U-Haul franchise locations. This experience has taught me that I was right renting from Penske all these years, and shown that breaking with brand loyalty to Penske is a punishment I do not want to suffer again!

I received my bill six days after renting a U-haul 10 foot truck for a rate of 19.95 and 1.09 per mile. I drove a total of 9 to 10 miles moving locally from and to within San Marcos. I was charged 90 miles!!!!!. Who miscalculated the mileage? I demand a refund of the extra 80+ miles, $88+ overcharged.

The staff they were exceedingly friendly, persistent and patient in getting the customer satisfied. NOTE: Staff has had some turnover so needs some training on the U Haul reservation system to build confidence, like when someone walks in w/o a reservation. BUT, Overall, an excellent experience.

Truck I was supposed to get had had not been cleaned out. Almost looked like someone had been living in it. Due to that I had to get a different truck and pay more for mileage. The lady working there did not work for U-Haul but did her best to accommodate the issue. This location seems like it's extremely dysfunctional and unorganized. Probably won't come back to this location again.

The replacement staff was friendly, but the whole process was completely disorganized. The truck was filthy, I had to clean it. The light inside was not working and I had to unload in the dark. Apparently people quit all at once and screwed the location. I really liked the staff that was there to help since they were doing their best.

This 12 foot cube rode very rough. I absolutely needed a tune up. The credit card machine was down when I rented the truck and when I brought it back. They demanded cash. Not too good. Cesar, the manager at this location was polite, courteous and helpful. He always had a good attitude.

Fraudulent cleaning claim after the dropoff attendant lied about his offic contacting me or otherwise informing me that my dropoff location changed. Uhaul customer service rep Jennifer confirmed I was to drop off the vehicle here, while I was at the location. The vehicle was in perfect shape. The cleaning charge is punitive and fraudulent. The blob behind the front desk should face disciplinary action.

Set up order on-line and DECLINED the safe insurance but we were charged the insurance. Tried to get a refund for this and was told that I would have to contact U-Haul directly. Shady business practices trying to add insurance and hope that the consumer doesn't notice when it was DECLINED on the online reservation. Conf: 25856455
