Truck was dirty and only had 1/4 tank of gas. Convenient location but had no blankets available, of which I had ordered 20 to cover my furniture. So I had to use shrink wrap only to protect the fragile items from being scratched.

I booked the U-Haul without the insurance change; however, the change was discreetly added on without notice (it was not highlighted nor mentioned). Though the tank was guaranteed to be at full capacity prior to rental, the truck rented was not at full tank. I drove 22.6 miles when I went to fill up the tank (anticipating approx 1 gallon), but had to pay $20.24 to add 5.245 gallons to fill the tank. The customer should not be responsible for compensating for the oversight on behalf of the ownership and previous customer. Thus, I was not pleased with the fact I was charged $14 for the insurance coverage I did not sign up for as well as the $15+ extra I had to pay to fill the tank from the previous driver.

I am living in San Francisco and this is a small city, the whole city is just 7miles from left to right. The thing is I rent a truck and drive it to the destination and in the end, the money that I need to pay is 25 miles money. That’s nonsense, I can’t drive that much! Because the whole city just 7 miles! I only drive 15 miles possible.

Tried to reach them for days before pick up of equipment and they never answered the phone and couldn't leave a message because their voice message was full -- this was for 3 days before pickup...When it was pick up day, I received a filthy truck and the auto- transport was not inspected and one of the 2 straps that would hold the car onto the trailer, was torn off and therefore the auto-transport was not usable. They had no back-up and no extra straps....The Uhaul representative was not very helpful...and he then called Roadside Assistance to get a technician to come and replace the strap. I had to have 2 movers waiting there for 4+ hours before the technician came out and replaced the staps......That cost me an extra $250 plus I had to buy them lunch just so they wouldn't leave and go to another job. Additionally, I had perishable items in the cooler that defrosted in those 4+ hours waiting to get the strap fixed. And then that 4+ hours delay put me right in the middle of Rush Hour when leaving San Francisco. So the the whole ordeal cost me over $350.00 and added 6+ hours on my outbound pickup day and I didn't get to drive 1/2 way to get to my destination, so I ended up having to drive 10 hrs the 2nd Day instead of 6, which was an extra 4+ hours. I have asked Uhaul to compensate me for the ordeal but so far, all they offered was an extra day to return the truck.....not exactly fair. I hope they compensate me with more than than an extra day, because the whole ordeal cost me alot more than that.....I am still waiting for them to get back in touch....Thank you for listening... When we arrived at park Merced after waiting about 10 minutes, Jamie Galarza proceeded to talk to my wife even though I was the one renting the truck. Never once even looking at me. Even after my wife told Jamie to talk to me he still proceeded to totally ignore me. Once we finished we were picking up our moving blankets and Jamie said” oh he will not be able to pick up those” at which time I picked them up. I felt he was totally humiliating me on purpose. Also this location is really hard to find. Jamie was very condescending tword me and did not even show us the truck an just said “ it’s parked out back here are the keys. Overall a very unpleasant experience.

Over charged me $70 for the $14 insurance I purchased, closed early the day of my drop off so I had to uber back the next day which cost another $15, because the phone number on the contract doesn't work or they just dont answer, talked to the lady she gave me another number to try but I come to find it's the same number, when I just tried to call like she said so they can "fix" it, still no answer....so know I will have to spend another $15 -$20 just to go there for the 3rd time to get my money back that they shouldn't have even charged. So I lost $30-$40 because this location cant do there job!!! Very unhappy.....terrible service.

The original truck I rented was locked and we didn't have access to the key, so I had to spend 20 minutes on the line with Customer Service so that they could transfer my order to a truck that was open.
