To let person know that in case if he/she arrives to destination x minutes late-he/she will pay fines/extra fee for the late drop off. Overall, my first experience was great! By the way, there was no box outside the van for me to leave van keys (you should let the other person know about that, too). Thank you!

The experience to start was somewhat aggravating. I booked the van, but kept getting a different location and time from what was booked. I chose 14th/west Portal @ 11:30am on 12/9 and I got switched to ocean Ave @ 2am in cofirmations. It concerned me and I engaged in chats with agents to confirm pickup location and time, which they were showing correct info, but I was not in emails and my dashboard. I thought the pick-up would be a lot easier than it was. Seemed redundant to have me send a pic of myself and my license as I had already done at booking. Also, I felt that I should have had a heads up that i should have shown up 1/2 hr early to complete check in. By the time I was asked and confirmed with 2 friends/family/employer verification, I was already way into my time. I feel that this information could have been verified at the time of booking. I do admit, I ran out of the house without my wallet which had my license so it took 10 minutes to circle back, which is only a couple minutes away (btw incredibly convenient location as I’m only a couple blocks away). Also, bc I had started the check-in process then stopped bc I didn’t have my license, I was moved again to a different location which concerned me greatly. I called U-Haul and the agent on the phone was very helpful and changed everything back as originally scheduled. The process of taking photos etc. was fine. There was a spill stain on the passenger floor and the bed was dusty, but nothing obscene. The key box was somewhat of a task. It could probably use some WD40 as it was stuck. I was also chatting via text with Olivia who was very helpful with managing the hectic check-in. It was overall a stressful experience. One that I’m not sure I’d like to experience again. The return procedure was as expected. Overall I wish that my experience would not have been as stressful. I felt like I was being shuffled around and given the wrong information from the beginning. I did not like that it took me over 30 minutes to do the check in. However, I did really like the customer service. I think I’d rather be dealing directly with agents if I were to use U-Haul again in the future. I can’t say that will be anytime soon. Thank you. Sincerely, Chithta Phong Phanh



I booked the car at "195 Portola Dr, San Francisco, CA 94131" this location first. When I arrive there is no car there. Then I went to UHUAl office at Parkmerced, but the staff told me they cannot do anything for me! If the office cannot do anything for their customer, why should we have that? They just give me a number to call for reserving another car. I don't have my own car, so I have to pay uber for commuting different UHUAL. In addition, I still was charged the same time period even I lost one hour to handle this problem.

Every time I use the 24/7 truck-share the code given by the app is incorrect and I have to call. The app would not let me complete the return process. Also, it smells like someone has been smoking in the vehicle.

verification process a bit lengthy: Had to provide additional phone number of friend for verification. Not sure why. Parking spot is pretty tight. Found car with parking ticket due to wheels not turned while parking at a grade.
