This location is s disaster. The address is listed as 2500 24 th St, but the entrance is on 23rd St. There’s no signage, which creates confusion. Once inside and a vehicle identified, the key box did not open. An associate on the phone had to generate a new code. The whole experience was a disaster. Highly unpleasant. The fact that it was cold and rainy added to the misery.

My u-haul experience was absolutely terrible, and I would certainly not recommend it to even my worst enemy. It was a self pickup option. To begin, the booking was incredibly stressful because any time you attempted to go in and edit your reservation, it would create a duplicate. Once I was able to resolve the reservation problem and went to pick up my truck, a whole other slew of issues appeared. The area in which the truck is located has incredibly spotty cellphone reception, causing me to have to circle the car in search of a signal throughout the entire process. After far too long, I managed to get far enough into the process to get the code for the key box. Which was wrong. After being rejected about 5 times, I got on the phone to call customer service. No one could help me and I was transferred and put on hold for 15 minutes, during which time I had to stand in the cold and wait. I never got a hold of customer service, and by the grace of god thought to try a few iterations of the code they had given me, finally getting into the key box by rearranging the last two digits. By this time the app had crashed out and marked my pickup service as completed without allowing me to actually finish the process and there was no way to go back in and edit. This meant that the mileage and fuel gauge were not recorded by the app. At this point I was already a half hour into my rental and running late for my moving appointments, which caused an incredible amount of undue stress. The rest of the move went fine, and the vehicle was in good condition, however, when I went to return it and began checking out in the app, I saw that they had charged me an extra $350 for a 'weekly rental fee' when I had had the car for less than three hours and was quoted $40. I checked the box that said "I do not agree with these charges" and left a comment in the section, but no one at Uhaul ever reached out to me. When I received my receipt, I was charged an outlandish $500 for this rental in total. I called customer service, and was met with more transfers, being put on hold, and finally a dispute filed. I have been told that a manager will get back to me within the next 48 hours, but am not holding my breath. I am incredibly disappointed with Uhaul's customer service and my entire experience here.

You have the notes of my awful experience. It was terrible.

This was my first experience and it was awful. The combination numbers assigned to lock boxes were/are backward. I was assigned vehicle A, but was given a combo number that opened vehicle B’s lockbox. I tried to explain this in the chat to a service rep but after 15 min was tossed to call some number. I cancelled my trip because I wasn’t going to make it to my destination on time. It does not appear I was charged so that is a bonus that at least that worked.

Location directions were not accurate - had to call UHaul and be given another address to GPS. Didn't say it was located INSIDE a parking garage and that the customer had to drive all the way in and pay the garage hourly. Verification period took some time while we sat in front of the UHaul van. 30 mins AFTER our pickup time. Upon our return the lockbox was closed and we couldnt open it with the code. I was on hold with Uhaul for 1hr before someone picked up and another 45mins while the agent tried looking for help. I gave up and hung up and called again for another agent who then told me not to worry and that I could just leave the keys under the seat and lock the van. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

This is a uhaul.com/share rental (mobile app). Worst experience ever: 1/ location given to by uhaul for pickup is wrong (two blocks off) 2/ spends 40 minutes looking for the location while on the phone with uhaul support 3/ upon return, lock box wasn't properly setup for me to drop the keys in it. Had to spend 40 minutes again, ti get someone that could help me. Horrible experience

There were so few instructions about where to find the van. And then it wasn’t in ya proper parking spot so finding the key was a challenge. Then there wasn’t good documentation of where to find the garage pass. Every step of the way there was friction where I felt like we were guessing what to do. Terrible experience. Would never use again. Would never recommend to a friend.

Couldn’t find location, app didn’t work, took 1.5 hrs to sort out reservation after being on hold for half hour with customer service. Absolutely terrible experience.

The physical location was convenient and good once we found it. The issues that would make it work to resolve are 2. #1 The lock box to pick up the U-Haul van did not work. There is a record in customer service. Need a working lock box. And if the lock box doesn't work a way to get help - we were one hold for 30 minutes trying to get help. Luckily I found the live chat feature buried in the website (not obvious where to find that either). The back-up at this location could be a physical key drop off slot if the lockbox doesn't work, and having the parking lot attendant have a back-up set up keys and be able to receive the keys at drop off if the lock bock box doesn't work (we went with this solution as the box wouldn't open when we dropped off) #2 The location is good but needs clearer instructions online: To specify the entrance is off 23rd street (currently told me to enter on Potrero) and to specify the van is in a parking structure and which level of the parking structure to find the van on.

1) The directions are incorrect. The picture of the parking deck says it is on Potrero Ave, but it is actually on 24th St past Utah St. This entrance isn't visible from SF General itself. (It took me 30 minutes to figure this out, basically circling the hospital) 2) You can't actually enter at that point on the weekend, you have to go to Utah & 23rd and walk through the parking deck. 3) There's no number provided to get clarification on the location of the vehicle. I tried calling U-Haul corporate, but never got routed to a support agent despite being on hold for 10 minutes. 4) The checkin process requires 5-10 minutes, much of which could have been accomplished when booking the reservation online in the first place. (Uploading pictures of myself, my drivers license, giving contact information for someone else, etc) (~10 minutes) 5) The key box access code was wrong. When I called, the person helping me had me try ~10 different codes before we found the right one. (another 10 minutes trying to get the key) From the moment I first arrived at 1001 Potrero until I was in the van was a total of just under 1 hour. This was a terrible experience and I'm lucky that I was able to accomplish my project despite the delays.
