It was really convenient to fill up the truck and the attendant was great. I would recommend always dropping off when an attendant was available for people that aren't tech savvy. We found that the phone/mobile option would have been a little frustrating for someone that isn't used to doing things without a live person. So glad we did a return in the AM vs. in the evening when we would have had to do a self check out. You can't replace a human being that provides comfort that the job was done right.

Employee tried to fight me Because my son threw garbage out the window. Insulted and cussed at my wife. Then tried to charge me additional fee. U-haul will never see my business again. As for the additional fee well guess what you can do with that!! Thanks Zack...

It would have been nice to know I was being charged for gas as well as mileage. That was not clear on the site, and the price ended up being excessive. I would not recommend U-Haul as a result.

I booked over the phone in Eugene and was told I had a one way cargo van from Salem to Eugene booked. It was After being dropped off alone in Salem was the first time I was told I had to return it to Salem or pay $240 to leave it in Eugene - two options I did not have the time or money and I wouldn’t have booked this if I’d known. I called the Eugene location (west 7th) again and they were useless in trying to fix the solution and sent me to uhaul customer service. I spoke to a woman Roxanne who just retold me my options but didn’t seek a solution considering I was stranded in Salem without transportation or the money to afford the options I hadn’t been told of earlier. Finally, lance in Salem (the best U-Haul employee of all time) was able to cancel my original reservation and find me a bigger truck that I could drop off in Eugene and for a much lower rate as an apology for the issues I had dealt with. As a customer it is so infuriating to learn of these realities once I am an hour away from home. You need to have Lance serve as an example of working with the customer and practicing good communication. The woman in Eugene should have known I can’t take a van one way and been clear with me as I prepared to spend a lot of money with this company. In the future I expect more of your employees to communicate and explore the questions and plans of your customers to an extent that ensures they will get where they need without draining their bank account. I am grateful for people like Lance in Salem who turned the experience around and genuinely considered my situation and financial limitations instead of expecting me to cough up $240 I don’t have. Thank you Lance and absolutely no thanks to the Eugene or 1-800 customer service for treating me poorly.

Although we had a pleasant enough experience with the location, we did have an issue where they gave us the "wrong truck" after we had already left and loaded up. We had to return, unload the truck into a parking lot and reload.

My rental experience was not very good, super frustrating and NOT anything like I was informed it would be. I never received a confirmation call the day before the pick up day. I showed up to get the truck on time, the 24 hour truck pick up online would not work, I called the area manager and he never returned my call, finally I asked someone at the location and they got me into the rental. When I returned the truck I used the online return system which was nice. The online program told me to place the keys in the drop box but I couldn’t find a drop box so I had to lock the keys in the truck. This whole experience was botched, none of what actually happened matched what I was told or read when I made the reservation.

I was quoted a certain amount and received a confirmation email that I was to return the truck to the same location I picked it up. When I returned the truck I was told I was supposed to return it to Redmond almost 170 mile from where my contract told me I was supposed to return it. The person then tells me I should leave it at another in town location which was closed. I was told I was going to be charged an additional $348.00. When I refused I was told to keep the truck. I explained that I did exactly what my contract told me to do and I would not take the keys back as far as I was concerned they took possession once they marked the gas, mileage and moved the truck.

a little hard to find. I didn't realize it wasn't a standard uhaul location, but a gas station that also accepted uhaul drop offs. Missed it a couple of times driving by.

A tire was low upon pick up, not having to deal with that would have been nice. Also I was not provided a physical copy of the contract. I was told it would be emailed within about 5 minutes. I did not receive it until about 3 hours later. I had to call the location I was dropping off the truck to find out how much fuel was required to return it correctly.

Noah, who was the station attendant, did an outstanding job of assigning me the truck. He shared it was his first time, but he did great. He had to handle fuel sales as well as my check out and he ran the total time handling everything with a smile and cheerful attitude.

Replace the clerk named Jessie. I questioned the fact that I only drove 21 miles and when I filled the gas tank and it took over 3 gallons and he became nasty. When I asked for the managers name and when I might be able to talk to him about this he became very short and told me that it was against the law to give out his schedule. I did not ask him for his schedule. When I left he came out the door yelling at me. If I would have been by myself I would have felt very threatened. This man has anger issues, I will never return there. Lastly, when I originally picked up the van, I was told that I had no leeway with my time. I could only have it for 3 hours as it was rented out right after ai return it. I had to have the clerk sweep it out as it was dirty. I also had to point out damage lights inside the back so they knew I did not do it. It was a terribly bad experience.

This place had NO IDEA what they were doing. Didn’t even have a printer to print your guys contracts. I really don’t think they should be renting U-Haul equipment. It took us an hour to get out of there.

This was supposed to be a one-way rental from Roseburg to Salem. Arrived in Salem and was told I could not turn vehicle in because they did not have it in their computer. Found that somewhere the drop-off location had been changed from Salem to Roseburg. Attendant told me I had to return vehicle to Roseburg instead and I could not leave vehicle parked at Chevron location. Attendant did not know what to do. Called customer service and was told that nothing could be done until next day. Contacted dispatcher in Springfield who discovered the error on my reservation but she was not allowed to fix it until the next day. Ended up incurring a night at hotel in Salem which we obviously had not planned on (an additional $119 plus tax). The next morning Jess contacted us at 9am to let us know that the error had been corrected. Returned to Chevron and had to wait until 10am when they opened U-Haul services. A gas station attendant is not a substitute for a U-Haul customer service representative. These folks are limited in what they can/can't do, especially when there are problems with reservations. This whole experience was not one that I'd wish on anyone else..
