Online it indicated this was self-service and I budgeted my time accordingly. I had to go inside the store and talk to a rep who had to go into the back to find a manager who had to help find the key. Similarly, the app directed me to put the key into the dropbox, but a dropbox didn't exist. I had to go into the store and though I told them that I had already checked the equipment in online I had to wait 5-10 minutes for them to look in the computer and try to figure out what to do with me. The experience was otherwise perfect.
Great location for us, helpful staff, and the truck we rented was awesome
I rented a pick up truck for four hours. The truck itself was quite nice and performed well other than having multiple warning lights flashing. It was however a bit dirty with papers, receipts and water bottles left from the last person to rent it. In the world of COVID-19 that didn't make me feel very comfortable so I kept the windows open for the afternoon. I was told that the vehicle was due back at 7:00 PM. I returned at 6:50 to see the front doors closed. A young man popped his head out and told me that the business was closed for the day. Another gentleman came to the door so I held out the keys I was returning. He asked me â€œdidn't he tell you that the store was closed already? â€œ I told him that I was asked to return the vehicle at seven and that was my plan. He invited me in and started the paperwork. He asked the first gentleman, who told me the store was closed, to take the mileage and gas. To that he replied â€œI don't know what's wrong with people returning vehicles when we are already closed. â€œ at this point it was 6:56 PM. Still not past the 7 o'clock closing time. I can understand wanting to finish up for the day but to talk that way in front of a customer is a problem. I wanted to support Ace hardware because I felt like it was a local franchise, with a local business owner. I won't make that mistake again.
Nothing . Customer service exceptional
The manager\owner of the Ace hardware complained about U-haul during my truck pick up and return. He is the reason for my low ratings. When I picked up the truck I approved photos of damage to the truck and upon return he tried to say it was new damage. I will not visit this Ace Hardware again at all. The truck had no issues.
No furniture pads that I paid for. No key drop box.
The truck was never cleaned prior to me renting. There was vomit and sticky stuff all over the interior. Also the layer of dust on the dashboard was very disgusting. I was very disappointed in the cleanliness especially during the covid-19 pandemic. Not to mention the alert on the da dashboard for a tire monitoring system which was not working. I will contact the local manager with pictures. When I returned the truck and told the store I explained I left the truck completely cleaned and sanitized the condition the truck should have been in when I rented it. I left my phone number and told her to have the store manager call me to discuss and she told me okay but it was not something they fo anything about.
Clean the vehicles, this unit had 5900 miles on it and you could see on the windshield where the sales stickers were posted. That's a long time to not have cleaned up.
Interior was disgusting
To start you need to update your systems about when this location closes and that the isn't a lock box anywhere. I stood outside for 45 minutes while talking to your representatives online and on the phone about the fact that i couldn't get the keys. I had to tell multiple people multiple times that the location was closed because they kept telling me to go inside and that the store was open(when iit clearly was closed). I eventually just had tp cancel the reservation because i had no way to gain access to the vehicle i rented. This was the worst experience ive had and makes me not want to do business with uhaul anymore.
No Key drop box
The so call manager...want not nice..the clerk cashier was very nice. And the computer was not working..I was charged wrongly
Although the van is new, the low tire pressure sensor is on both times we rented it. The staff is unconcerned and taking no action to take care of it. I don't like the idea of having to ignore a safety warning light, not knowing if I truly have an issue. Staff is not in a hurry to check out but they are nice and easy to get in and out of the parking lot.
Upon returning the truck the next day, the only person in the store who knew how to use the UHAUL computer system was the store manager. I waited nearly 20 minutes for his assistance, even though he knew I was there waiting, he was on his personal phone talking with the store owner. You would think the store owner would realize the customer comes first and the manager could have called him back. I left upset and do not think I will use this UHAUL vendor again.
I waited over 30 minutes to rent a vehicle and the store wasnt busy. The manager seemed to be the only person trained to do Uhaul transactions.
Took 5 employees for check us in and check us out. They all seemed very unfamiliar with the whole process. Will never go back to rent from this place!
The mobile app didn't work, so all the hub-bub about the easy pick up fell through.
windshield was full of buggs, I had to clean the van because I could not see. Otherwise this location Ace harware is awesome, very very friendly staff, the guy from U-haul was excellent. Thanks
My only comment is that when making the reservation, I had to give the estimated mileage for the $.69 per mile charge. When I returned the truck, I was not given credit for the difference between estimated and actual. It looks like the best thing to do is underestimate the number of miles and then pay for the additional miles when returning the vehicle.
Originally ordered at Narcoossee Hardware and it was not ready when promised had to go to Ace Hardware to pick it up. Put a credit card on file to rent but was told he would not need the card when he picked it up, also was told could just drop the key after the rental. They did not have a drop box and would not charge original card. Had to make another trip to return key and bring the other charge card since this was a school use rental and not personal. The van was good just poor communication. They also could not take the tax exempt at the store said had to do that through uhaul? Since I ordered from the store would think they could take the tax off.
Ensure reserved vehicle is available and if it is not then notify the customer to allow time to make alternative arrangements. The location could have told me they had another similar vehicle as well but didn't. Seems to be a disconnect in the process.
This was a great experience. Chris at Ace Hardware was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely use this location again.
