I reserved the truck on 27 April 2018 to pickup 26 May 2018 in Oxford, MS. However, on 24 May I was notified that I had to pickup the truck in Ripley, MS which is over an hour away from Oxford, MS. I called U-Haul and was informed that was the closest one available. It was a three hour round trip just to pick up the truck, which caused us to leave a day later than planned. I would like to know how I can avoid this extreme inconvenience in the future when renting a truck? Ken

I had to wait 25 minutes from my pick up time for the person to arrive. A second person at the site didn't have any idea when the man renting us the trailer would arrive and stated he didn't carry a phone to call him. After waiting 25 minutes it was another 25 minutes to do the paperwork as he couldn't do the computer work. Very disappointed.

I picked up truck at this location and service was a little slow but that was fine. I didn't pay enough attention to where the guy said the fuel level was when I picked it up. The two people helping me move commented on the truck showing 41 miles to empty. I turned the truck in with more fuel in it than when I picked it up and was charged 18.55 fuel and 30.00 service fee. This could be corrected by full of fuel when picked up and full when returned.

Mr. Fagin should not be renting hauls if he treats all his customers like me. When i arrived to pick up the haul , he said that it was here , but i could not get it because the keys were locked inside. He said that a person delivered the usual the day before but had locked the keys inside. He had gotten the police and another person to come by that day to open it but they could not. He said he called someone else, but they could not either. He said he was looking for someone else to try and open it. So this is the next day and he did not call me to let me know there was a truck there but not useable. I asked him about surrounding areas to call and so he finally called and found one in New Albany. He also had a trailer for me, but i told him I would come back before he closed to pick it up. So i go back to get the trailer and it is 5:01 and he would answer the door. I knocked until he did come and opened it. he looks at me like i am crazy. I told him i came to get the trailer. He said, “I am sorry but I am closed.”then i said, “ mr. Fagin i am the one that was here earlier and you did not have my truck and now i need the trailer. He said that he was readyto go home. I told him i had already paid for it. I explained that because we had to drive 40 minutes to get the truck and 40 minutes back, and also checking out, we had lost over two hours.i had hired two guys 2 hours from Roipley that was helping me move, so i had to pay extra since they were following me from Oxford, ms to get the truck and trailer. This not bother them but he finally said that he would go ahead and rent the trailer. I have rented hauls several times, but never experienced such iincompetence, rudeness, and lack of trying to have manners or trying to be helpful. I was in shock at his attitude, the lack of concern that there was not a uhaul for me to use. He had uhaul plaques on the wall, how he got them, i will never understand. FYI, the New Albany Uhaul place was very helpful and did all they could do for me.

We were told to pick up the reserved UHaul truck at a specific location, and when we arrived at the specified time and place of pickup, the business was closed for the day. The 15’ truck was sitting there. We had no warning and were on a very tight schedule to get our daughter moved. We spent a half day dealing with UHaul and driving to a different town to get a different reserved truck. The truck was dirty, and the tires were badly worn. We had no choice but to make the 750 mile trip and miraculously did so. We’ve been very disappointed in the lack of customer service as also in the lack of pride the company now takes in its business.
