The truck was messy the left rear view mirror was literally taped on with blue painter tape and cracked. The interior was nasty and smelled. It only has 10k miles on it! Tons of damage on outside of truck. The people working just seemed upset and annoyed by all the customers. I'll come here again because its close to my house but I won't like it.

The trailer I rented was not there when I got there. I booked full covered trailer and it was not available when I got there. Was forced to use open trailer and it was expected to rain. Luckily, it didn't rain when using it, however I had to make two trips instead of one due to safety of not having a fully covered trailer. When I raised concern when picking up the trailer, the agent told me I you don't want it someone else will and said there is nothing that can be done. At least a discount rate would be appropriate or offer of other options such as a truck etc. Very disappointed. I've always had good experience with Uhaul in Concord, Ca, but this was a terrible situation made works by agents negative attitude. Will avoid location in future at all cos.

in pick up someone had smoked a pipe - tabacco still in ashtray. Broken side mirror taped together with blue tape Very rude manager and woman who worked behind the counter Woman helping me typed in my card and put wrong exp date twice. My bank blocked transaction so I had to call bank and resolve...while I did this she took another customer and when I told her why it was declined - her error- she said sorry you'll have to wait and I waited for another 10 mins while she waited onsomeone else...finally after I knudged that I had to get somewhere with the truck she called someelse to come in to help. The manager then came in and asked is something wrong to her - and asked me with an intmidating look. Overall very poor service and not a good experience...sad that because it is in Richmond that UHaul lets this operate so poorly

It is a very busy place. and needs three inside sales and one outside person to manage the vehicle transports. Even with two people on board they did a good job. It all seemed rushed and a customer can't think straight to ask the right questions. Also, it should be policy that any vehicles over 20 feet have to be returned with more than 1/4 of tank. Our truck ran out of gas before we could get to the nearest gas station. I had to buy 4 gallons of gast to make it turn over to make it to the gas station and then it took another $46.00 to fill it to 1/4 of tank where it was suppose to be when we left the lot. We were refund only $21.00 with a receipt. Thanks,.

We had to keep the truck an extra day because a storm kept us from unloading it the day before. The people at this location called several times saying we needed to bring the truck because they had promised it to someone else. They were unprofessional on the phone, didn't say who they were just asked for the truck, called repeatedly, and sounded as if they were annoyed with us without even pretending to act courteous.

Make sure all equipment works properly before the customer arrives. I rented a trailer but it took 15-20 min for me to get the lights to work on the trailer because the wiring was frayed. This should have been done by the employees before I even got there

There was a woman employee, presumably the manager who handled everything GREAT. It was a holiday, a Sunday, and the 1st of the month. There was a very long line and customers were kind of rude. I had no issue with waiting...it's life! I felt a lot of empathy for her because frankly...there were 2 Uhaul employees at the location, the aforementioned woman and a male employee. The male employee repeatedly had to be coached and spent most of his shift in the back room. While the woman employee was handling 2 customers at a time on 2 different registers, the male employee was nowhere to be found. She frequently had to redirect him to address his responsibilities and the tasks at hand. My advice? Fire the guy and pay her double since she's already doing his job anyway. She's great, she's professional, and deserves a better team!

The employee's was very helpful and nice, swift and ready to help. WONDERFUL! IN & OUT. The pick up truck I rented. OMG! FILTHY NASTY DISGUSTING. The seats are spotted and nasty. There was a smell that gave me a headache liquid was spilled and never cleaned AND THE PET HAIR!!! My Husband has a pet allergy that instantly caused a rash on his arms with constant itching. We drove separately because he could not be in the rental. If it wasn't for a last minute need for the rental I would have never taken that truck. So bothered by the condition of the rental. I have pictures as proof. Highly annoyed that I had to make sure the truck was at the gas mark and use my own gas in my car because my husband could not ride in the rental. I will most likely not rent there again knowing what I know. The location is so close yet not worth my business.

I waited in like for an hour and a half to receive my truck. There was only 6 people in line in front of me. The woman behind the desk was unprofessional and didn’t know what she was doing. On top of that the trucks gas tank was on empty when I received it. I will never go back to this location again.

When i picked up my trailer the manager and a female employee was so good to me very professional ...but when I dropped pff the trailer two different people were there the female was super rude zero customer service skills and the man inside the building was vaping when i walked in and the big guy outside was tweaked out his mind.... Im so sad about my experience because the two first people that helped me on thursday was so great to me.

At this location, we had two distinct customer experience. First Visit: We were driving around the city visiting different uhaul locations. When we visited this Richmond location we found a pickup truck in the parking lot assuming it was available. When we went in to the POS to inquire available trucks, the uhaul representatives said they were all booked and suggested we call or go online to reserve. Second Visit: After visiting the uhaul.com site and reserving a pick up truck at the previous same Richmond location, we were greeted by the general manager. We got the exact same pick up truck we saw when we made our first visit available after verifying out reservations. Overall, uhaul made is visit the same location twice for the same truck we wanted to reserve in the first place. Thanks. Great customer experience to remember and share through word of mouth.

I love the people working here and my issue is not with U-Haul it has to do with after hours suspicious activity I think uhaul should be aware of which I believe caused issues with our vehicle. First when driving off We we alerted that the fuel was really low and had to update our contract because it said it was 3/8 full. When returning we noticed some guy on the lot hovering around us and then noticed that he may be stealing gas from the tanks which explains the gas issues, we saw a tube coming out of one of the trucks around 10:00 when we returned. We also found it difficult to find a parking spot. Also after filling the truck the fuel level never changed it remained on empty (very concerning, remained uneasy and unsure of if we were low on gas) . I will be happy to get on a call to further discuss what I saw as I wouldn’t want to be penalized or anyone else to be because of this.

Please let their management know to confirm customers requested items are available BEFORE finishing payment. I requested 2 furniture dollies and 1 utility dolly and as soon as I got done processing my payment, an employee said they only have 1 furniture dolly, not 2. I was able to get a refund; however it took an additional 10 MINUTES for them to find a way to do a refund on their computer, which is either a reflection of undertrained staff or a need to improve the UHAUL computer system. Also, when I returned the truck at the store in Fresno, CA the employee helping us said there was a dent in the hood that was not documented previously at the Richmond location. He then asked if the staff at Richmond gave us a walk around of the truck to inspect before we left and I was surprised because they did not offer to do that. Overall, my experience at the Richmond location was poor and I would have appreciated better customer service.

Truck had no gas when picked up, counter agent claimed that all trucks were vandalized and all gas was stolen form them the previous night and that it happens every night. The counter agent informed me that if I returned the truck w/ 1/4 tank of gas, I would get a $57.00 credit. I returned the truck Truck w/ 1/4 of gas as instructed but on my invoice I did not receive the $57.00 credit The rear of the truck was dirty inside and the cab smelled strongly of cigarettes. My reservation was to pick up truck at 8:45am but I did not leave the Richmond location until closer to 10am. Truck was expected to be returned by 9am. I usually use U-Haul for my moving needs but I will NOT use the Richmond location again.
