Rep told me that she had another person renting the truck later the same day - but was leaving and wanted me to use the overnight return for the key. No customer (or person) likes being lied to. Either she needed to leave early (key in box) or someone else needed to rent after me so I could return and not drop the keys in the drop box.
Getting the truck was a nightmare. Since my aunt was picking it up, we spoke with an agent and gave them all the information they said they needed. They did not transfer all the information over, so when she went to pick up the truck, they waited at least three hours before someone figured out how to get it done. I had to drive over from Toppenish to meet them and I waited over an hour and a half. Whoever was supposed to change the information only did their job halfway. We finally got into the truck, and the hand truck I reserved was not there. Then, when we returned the truck, the female agent at the Beebe Bridge Rd location was very rude, and not at all willing to help me price a future rental. She told me I could do it myself on the website. It was the perfect response to a bad rental. I was stressed about the move, and I really didn't need her attitude. I will never rent from that location. I discourage anyone from doing so. She was very unprofessional. You would think she would want the business but she was lazy and rude. Overall, it was a very stressful experience
I had made my reservation two weeks in advance to pick up at one location. I received a call from uhaul the day before stating that I could keep the location and go down two sizes or go an hour away to pick up the one I needed. Obviously I picked the hour drive since I needed that size even though it was a huge inconvenience. Then I get a call around 3:45 letting me know that location is actually closed on Sundays and I need to get there before 4:45 that day. So I rush down there to go get the trailer. I was comped for the extra day, but no discounts were provided for the location inconvenience. Now for my actual experience at the location. The system was incredibly slow and I was told it was because of their internet connection and that they've been dealing with it for years. It took over half an hour just to do the paperwork portion. Then, when hooking up the trailer, I could tell it would be sitting too low to the ground so I went to flip it around but the guy told me to just put it on. I ended up having to drive over to the uhaul I wanted to rent from the next morning to have it fixed before loading the trailer. If we had just loaded it, it would have been dragging on the ground. And what do I see while I'm there? Two trailers in the size I was renting. I have never had issues with uhaul in the past, but this was absolutely ridiculous. Nobody apologized for anything. I was just expected to do what I was told.
The communication with the vendor was lacking. They couldn't find my reservation when I went in to check with them to make sure they had it. I don't know how long you make them wait to get a reservation but it should be in for them to access within 24 hours after I make a reservation.
Expected to drop off uhaul to a closed site, employee came right out and was very helpful.
On 11/12/19 I received an email stating that my order of 5x8 Cargo Trailer had been reserved and guaranteed in U-Haul location at 3212 W COURT ST, PASCO, WA. When arrived at the location I was issued a contract #28190836. Then, after about 15 minute wait, I was told by a clerk that the trailer was not available due to a mechanical failure. The clerk made a few phone calls and advised that I needed to drive to a U-Haul location in Prosser, WA, about 36 miles away, to pick-up a trailer. I was on a very tight schedule that day and had no choice other than drive to Prosser and back to Tri-Cities wasting about 2 hours of my time. When I asked the clerk for compensation due to the inconvenience and the extra gasoline he responded that he had made a note in a file and the Prosser location would take care of that. The clerk in the Prosser U-Haul location stated that there was no record of my Pasco's order in the U-Haulâ€˜s system and that I needed to do the paperwork and DL license scan once again. This time he issued a new contract #81284491. When I asked for compensation he informed me that this was a new contract and he knew nothing about any compensation.
This location and staff were excellent. The improvements needed for U-Haul overall is your on line reservations and return. They are not user friendly! Very time consuming and difficult.
