Store experience for both pick and drop was smooth
Dirty and not up to fit standards. Truck was filthy and not swept out. They don't answer their phone or return messages.
Manager was cooperative to fix and problems store clerk had made.

Pickup location was changed to this address. It took over an hour to be processed to take the rental vehicle. The person doing the check out seemed to be very much not trained in how to do it. The fuel level was incorrect on the paper work and I noted this. Did not have the appliance dolly I had requested and had to go to the original location to pick one up. This took well over an hour off of the time to do what I wanted to get done. Very disappointed in service at this location. 1st street location should be shut down as U haul representative.
Terrible experience overall. I had reserved for pickup at a different location (closer), so was surprised to have to drive to the next town over (15 mi) to get my truck, which added significantly to my mileage and gas charges. Also, I had reserved for "mobile" pickup at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived found out the location didn't open until 9:00 AM and still had to checkout with the clerk. Unacceptable! Also, UHaul is very proud to advertise their trucks for $19.99/day, but with insurance, mileage, rental equip, and gas, I paid over $100. Very misleading.
Attendant spoke very little English. Was a center in a gas station. There wasn't very good signage so I drove past it. Received a call from corporate office an hour after I picked up truck asking why I haven't picked it up yet.
It's a Shell gas station and it was clear that the guy isn't that used to the whole UHaul checking-out-equipment thing. He was clearly flustered and was muddling through on his tablet. Also, our rental included a dolly and furniture pads, which were not included with the truck. We had to drive to another nearby UHaul to get those items, which was inconvenient and took more time due to a long line at the second location.
Process of checking out was not easy, supplies I ordered were not with the truck.
Go in and do the pickup with the agent. The self checkin takes way too long
This gentleman was very helpful and quick. He was surprised that I was there when my return date wasn't scheduled until 6/25. He mentioned that I should call UHaul and see if I can get credited for returning it early. Great suggestion, however I am EXTREMELY disappointed that the UHaul customer service number I called leaves you on hold for nearly an hour. This is NOT good customer service and I'm extremely disappointed that I had to wait so long.
Reservations screwed up my rental. Had to go to two other places. Did not get the truck I had originally reserved. Very dissatisfied with this company.
This location is in a gas station that is older. Even though we had a reservation, it took almost an hour from arrival to keys in hand. Upon returning to the same reservation, we were informed the computer was down and to take to a different location. When we arrived at the other location, they sent us back to the original. And we were paying by the mile.
The people who own this location are fantastic and exceeded all my expectations! Not only are they open later than any other uhaul stores but they stayed late to give me more time before I had to return the truck. I will definitely use their services again!
Signed up for on-line pick-up. On-line did not work. Had to go into the gas station to rent the truck.
The guy at this gas station rental location did not know what he was doing and was trying to sell gas and drinks while doing our rental - interrupting our rental as he kept getting stuck and didn't want other customers to wait! This was completely unacceptable. We were supposed to get a hand truck, and he had one, but he could not figure out how to rent it to us. I had a $50 certificate for our terrible reservation experience, but he did not explain that we were paying in advance, so we did not submit the certificate as it stated to submit it at time of payment. We were conducting business over a soft drink counter about 8" wide. You could not even set the paperwork down to look at it. We need this certificate to be provided as a refund - Certificate number 45EE677C. He also told us to return the truck to a location that is no longer a U-Haul location. 4350 Fruitridge Road in Sacramento. The people there treated us like we were crazy trying to return a U-Haul truck at that location. We went down the road and tried to return at 2961 Fruitridge, but they wouldn't take the truck either. Veronica there was kind enough to call U-Haul for us, and finally directed us to 2839 Broadway in Sacramento, where we were finally able to return the truck. Is U-Haul going out of business? You sure seem like you must be providing absolutely horrible service like this. Bah! Humbug!
I went through the self-service process and showed my screen to a representative as instructed. But it seems that they didn't understand the self-service process and took me about 30mins to get the key. And, the equipment was not clean.
The attendant is juggling uhaul rentals with selling gas and groceries. I don't think this model works well. It took much longer that it should have. Next time I will rent only from the haul store.
The whole experienced sucked.
i did the pre-registration and there were no other customers and it still took almost 20 minutes! it seemed to be a slow computer issue but it was really awful. I would not recommend this location for this reason. Get a new computer!!!!
Why are trucks not fully gassed up?!? So, I now need to guess at how much gas I put in truck to return it where it was. Did not have all the blankets that I needed.
The clerk first told us that she did not have our reservation. We had to point out to her that she pulled up the wrong date on her computer.
The person working the counter literally could not speak English. They had a very difficult time getting through the checkout process and had to make multiple calls to their boss and send pics of the computer screen to their boss in order to fumble through it. Checkout took over 35 mins. Never going back there again.
The gas station experience was not optimal as I was constantly having to step aside for customers getting gas. The only other complaint was the attendant did not speak very good English so when I had questions, he was not helpful.
