We spent 45 minutes to an hour waiting for U-Haul technicians to adjust electrical issues on our car only to find out that it was the covered trailers malfunction. The significant delay not only affected our moving time, but nothing, in any way, was offered to us as any kind of courtesy discount. Also, we dropped off the covered 5x8 trailer to our final destination in Prescott, Arizona. Before our trip and our move we went by the Prescott location to make sure our car was completely ready (outfitted with all the necessary hook-ups and electrical systems). The U-Haul employee confirmed that all was fine with our car and that nothing would need to be done for our pick-up in Cave Creek, Arizona. As we came to find out our car needed a ball end hook-up, which cost us $24.00. The frustrating part: I brought two cars by this U-Haul location to determine which car would be best to use. One car already had an existing ball end hook-up (installed by U-Haul a few years ago only with the compatible electrical system still inside my trunk), but was told the other car was more equipped for towing. But as noted, it was not outfitted properly and thus, I bought another ball end hook-up when I already had an existing one to use. To be honest, I'm thankful that the move went smoothly and that the U-Haul trailer did very well on the road. It was just frustrating to spend so much time on malfunctions along with additional prep-work done on our behalf to make this experience go quickly and smoothly.

The gas gauge in the truck didn’t work properly and the person who gave me my contract didn’t explain how to know how much gas to put in and the gas gauge was lower then what it showed on the contract to begin with. They were not willing to do anything to help me when the truck gas gauge didn’t work! I have rented a lot of uhauls in my life but will NEVER rent one again now I will go to Home Depot or Budget or somewhere else next time because of their TERRIBLE customer service!

1. The online system wasn’t working—I filled out the appropriate info online, but my vehicle was not ready and assigned to me prior to my arrival. I had to start over at the desk. 2. I was overcharged. I was charged for an out of state “one way” trip, when all I did was drive to Tucson—I was back in 6 hours. 3. The vehicle was terrible. It would not go faster than 75 mph. I was the slowest car on the highway. Poorly maintained! 3. All in all, a terrible experience. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff were polite. But that is not enough for me to ever recommend UHaul to anyone ever.

Yard layout is confusing, with too little customer parking. can more be leased form buildings behind facility? All staff I talked to on phone or contacted at location were helpful, friendly and well-informed. The only bad part of the experience was UHaul's subsidiary website for moving helpers, which was difficult to use and very expensive.

Overall, for booking this online 100% it was a good experience. My two negative comments first. (1) When I booked on line I could have sworn it said keys would be in my truck. They were not and I had to go inside to get them. Only one person was working inside and I had to wait for two customers to finish before I got my keys. (2) It may be in the fine print but I had no idea you were going to charge me to use the doley ($7). The worst part is I never used it. We moved it off truck as we had to load two couches, lose cloths, kitchen items and a bedroom set. We never used the doley once. No fun getting charged $7 for something we didn't use and that Uhaul should give for FREE as a part of the services. If not, then you shouldn't put it on the truck! Or at least put a sign by it saying I will be charged if I use it. Tom Lesieutre

Convenient location. The rep who greeted us was turning us away saying he had too many trailers. I explained that this had been a cross-country move and that this was the site for us to return the trailer. He had us call to confirm that we were scheduled to deliver the trailer at that location before he would take it.

I booked a 7:00 AM pickup for a 6’ x 12’ and was greeted with a smile when I walked in. Facility was clean and well maintained. However, when I was hitched to the first trailer, one of the electrical receptacles was smashed so I could not use that trailer. I backed my truck up to a second trailer and hooked up, but the brake lights on the trailer were out. The third trailer worked, but one of the small lights on top was out - which I was told was okay. The process took an extra 45 minutes so I am glad I did express check in. The employee was professional and apologetic. Preventive maintenance staff should be made aware of defective equipment for the next customer.
