This was not my requested pick-up location. I had reserved a truck to pick-up at Artie's Ace. The day prior to my pick-up, I was called and informed that trucks from that location were for local use only. M&M was an alternate location for a one-way rental. I used mobile app to pick-up truck. Took a little longer than I would have liked, but otherwise was pretty straight forward. I had also reserved an appliance dolly with my truck, it was not provided with my truck upon pick-up at M&M. I had to go to a third location, 24th St. & McDowell, a proper U-Haul facility, the next day to pick-up an appliance dolly. If I was limited for time, these delays would have caused me a great deal of stress and would have caused me problems. The U-Haul website should not allow you to reserve a truck at a location that will not allow one-way rentals. The truck on the other hand was excellent. Relatively new with only 16,000 miles on it. It drove very nicely and was an excellent vehicle.
While dropping off the truck I was waiting for a customer service rep on the phone for over an hour. I had to call into designate a drop off location. I returned the truck on the app but it had the incorrect address. I was extremely frustrated that after an hour of wait on the phone and returning the truck on the app I received a $20 check in fee. I will not give bad score to the places I picked up and dropped off the truck but the customer service center needs to up their game. An hour on the phone is not okay and then charging $20 after I attempted to return on the app is not okay.
Make sure the equipment is installed correctly, I got off the lot and turned down one street before the trailer jumped the hitch. Also, it reeked of cigarette smoke and now that smell is in my belongings.
We used the app, so did not interact with any staff.
Billing for extra days is wrong, should only be 2 days over. My contract says 8 days and 8 hours Reservation:20843001 5' x 8' Cargo Trailer: $218.00 (Due in store) Includes 8 days and 8 hours All rates are in US dollars and do not include sales tax. Damage protection SafeTowÂ® $70.00 Need to changed the over charge and credit me.
KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROMPT
The area isn't lit very well and the building is hard to find. I went to drop off the key using the 24/7 Uhaul return and the key box was non-existent. I had to take time off work to return the key and it was very inconvenient.
Staff wasn't helpful and unprofessional
This was not a mobile pick-up spot. There were no lock boxes with keys. We arrived after the location was closed, and thankfully the nice owner still accommodated us otherwise we would have been out of luck. The truck we reserved was not there. The truck we got had the wrong mileage, thankfully to our favor. The cab smelled like vomit. They did not put our furniture blankets in our truck, so I had to go back to u-haul on moving morning to get blankets. The parking lot at the Old Town location was full, and a very rude employee made me park across a 5 lane road - not near an intersection to cross. There were maybe two other customers there, so I am not sure why the employees weren't using the overflow parking so that customers wouldn't have to run back and forth across a busy road. When I went inside to get the blankets, the employee inside had me pull my car back to the SAME location the rude employee told me was off limits. The truck itself was SMALL. We used a 26' Penske to move a few months ago and had about 10' left in the back of the truck. We used a 20' U-haul and were unable to fit all of our belongings in it. Never again. I will use Penske from now on.
I used the online check in service and it was not all that convenient and took way too much time.
Was asked by U-haul's dispatcher to pick up a 15' truck at this location since the original site I had scheduled did not have one available. There was not adequate signage on the storefront to even know it was a U-haul facility, just a couple of trucks and trailers in the parking lot. Attendant accidentally added insurance to my order and couldn't remove it. Truck windshield was dirty, and wiper blades were so worn I couldn't clean the windshield. Additionally, I had requested furniture blankets and a dolly with my order. I had to go to another site to get the blankets. Took me close to an hour to my pickup and I was the only person in the store.
N/A, the employee was easy to work with made the return even easier.

My experience was terrible. It took over 40 minutes to get my truck. I had reserved it online, which included inputting all of my personal information and payment information. However, when I arrived, it was as though I had not done any of that online and had to start from scratch. There were ongoing computer issues and the person helping me seemed unsure of what he was doing. When I reserved the truck online, I declined the insurance because I researched and knew my personal insurance would cover it. However, insurance coverage was selected without my consent or knowledge until I looked at the final receipt, which wasn't sent to me until days later. Additionally, when I reserved online, I also requested a wardrobe box; however, this location did not have any and there seemed to be no record of my order. I was told to go to another store to pick up the UHaul, thereby prolonging this already drawn out process. Once I arrived at the other store, no one had called ahead to tell them I was coming for a wardrobe box and they proceeded to be confused for quite some time before finally giving me one. This entire process took over an hour and made me late to meet the movers I had scheduled, not having any inkling it would take so long to pick up the UHaul (which, by the way, was given to me with virtually no gas in the tank). Also, this was not even the pick up site I asked for when I made the reservation. I understand that is not always a guarantee, but UHaul really should consider convenience as it relates to the customer, not to themselves. Moving is a very stressful business even in the best of circumstances. For a company whose whole purpose is to assist their customers with moving, you should be doing everything in your power to make it less stressful, not more. Also, I was asked to take part in a UHaul Share transfer, which I agreed to because I was offered $400. In retrospect, that is not enough to cover the added time it took to pick up the trailer I was asked to take with me on my trip (this garnered more confused looks from the pick up site as they did not seem to expect me, though it had all been prearrange), the added fuel it required to haul it, nor the additional time it took to return the trailer. Please consider offering customers more money for doing this service for you.
