Van was filthy in the back. They had issues with check-in. Nobody was there when we went to drop off the following day (even though it was opening hours). Dropped keys in box and was given charges for over 1,000 dollars when it should have been $50. Still have not re-couped my money. Had to have AMEX put a block against Uhaul because the charges keep coming every day. Second time in a row getting screwed by Uhaul. Will never use U-Haul again.

Gave me the van in almost empty tank. Within less than 5 miles, gas sign popped up. Kept me waiting for nearly 30 minutes until the technician figured out he needs to call someone to close out the return. Please train employees to properly conduct business.

I booked reservation online a week in advance, and was routed to 24/7 Truck Share pickup point close to home. Received quick confirm for my scheduled 7:00 pick up, and followed specific online instructions at 24/7 site, but was informed that my vehicle was not available until 10:00. Reached out to 800 number, fortunately Navarro was able to review the booking, make some contacts and get me on my way shortly after scheduled pickup time!

We showed up to pick up our truck as part of the express pick-up with our cell phone. When we showed up and I clicked the "pick up my truck" button it said "there has been a change and your truck is now scheduled for hand delivery. Please wait until the location opens at 9:30 am." At that point it was 10:30 a.m. and nobody was there. I called Uhaul and was on hold for 30 minutes. In the meantime, we found the lockbox was unlocked so we just took the keys to a 10 ft truck, like we had reserved. When I finally got an agent I explained the situation and they said now the truck was considered "stolen". This was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I would NEVER rent from Uhaul again if this isn't made right. Due to the mixup I didn't get the blankets or dolly I had requested in my order. What would we have done for our move if we didn't find keys in the lockbox? We would have been stranded on our moving day without a moving truck. TERRIBLE experience.

Had a horrible experience with your company. I was quoted $47, and then you attempted to charge me $99. Charging me for gas? Okay sure. Charging me a “fuel service fee” for $30 on top of that???? Am I literally paying you to pump the gas into the truck? I disputed these charges, received a message saying I’d be called within 48 hours to discuss my concerns, and never heard back, and was never charged. This was June 30 that I rented/disputed. I JUST received a receipt today, saying I’m being charged $53. As someone who’s worked in customer service for almost 10 years, super confused about your process here. Hopefully you’ll figure it out for future customers.

I did not catch the name of the attendee who was running the lot but he was WORKIN’! His customer service was on point and it was just apparent that his one goal was to make sure everyone got what they needed in a safe and speedy manner. Uhaul was an absolute nightmare to deal with. They didn't have the truck at the location I reserved a month in advance. The day before my reservation they changed the pick up date to the day after I needed the truck.

I was charged for driving 50 miles. I did not approach 50 miles. Per Google Maps, I drove approximately 33 miles. I don't know how this mistake happened, but the attendant read the odometer incorrectly, and when I told him I did not believe this was true, he referenced the odometer. Please encourage your customers to take an independent note of the odometer reading before and after using the vehicle.

In the beginning, the employees weren’t very clear with instructions/ return policies causing me to have a “late return” — when I called and talked to Tony, he was super, super helpful and was able to resolve all of my issues in a very timely manner. He is a great employee and the others definitely should try to emulate his work ethic.

We have had good experiences with Uhaul in the past. That’s why this time was so upsetting. We reserved the truck a month in advance at 1015-25 S 12th St. I received a personal call from Uhaul 3 days before pick up to tell me that the truck would be at the different location on spring garden st. I asked them to move the truck to 12th st location but was told they didn’t have the manpower. I asked multiple times if the truck would actually be available at 7 am when we got there and was verbally assured it would be. I also received a text stating that the truck would be ready for pick up at 7 am at The spring garden facility. Then, on June 28th when we arrived, there was nobody available at the facility. We had to walk to another Uhaul facility where we were fortunate to find a very helpful manager (Mr Maldonado) who called the cellphone of the manager (Anthony) of the Spring Garden facility. Apparently, Anthony had no idea we were coming for the truck and stated he would only be at work at 10 am. He finally got the truck around 9am, but by that time, our movers had to move on to their next job, so we had to do our entire move ourselves. Because of this delay, we had to leave Philadelphia very late and were driving through the night to Rochester, which was dangerous given our level of fatigue. We had to unpack our truck at 2am when we finally arrived. The entire move was a nightmare. It’s just hard to understand how I could receive multiple calls and texts stating that the truck would be available at 7am, and yet somehow on the day of the move, the manager of that location had no idea we were coming for our vehicle. It delayed our move and put us in a dangerous situation driving fatigued and very late at night. Additionally, we had paid for blankets and a dolley to help us move, but the facility had none available. I plan to use other companies for future moves.

Better running trucks, less graffiti, easier access to get keys for truck without jumping through so many hoops. I didn't like the location, but one of the UHaul employees, Anthony, had outstanding customer service and was really helpful in getting me a rental truck, despite the many, many, MANY setbacks of the broken UHaul website and app. Anthony is the one outstanding aspect of an otherwise negative experience. Overall, they need to make it easier to get a rental truck and not have so many issues.

This was an overall terrible experience. There was no one working at the place when I returned the truck. I was also hit with $60 in extra charges after I returned the truck. I was also under-mileage with more than enough gas in the tank. I will never use U-Hual again!

Include drop box availability and location of the drop box on the site in the U-Haul contract. Since the location was closed when I returned, I only knew there was a drop box on site because a customer mentioned it in the reviews for that location.

My vehicle was not there and no one around to help and nothing on the self service app for issues resolution. I ended up taking a similar vehicle that had lot of trash in it and an empty tank as I was on a tight client event deadline. You still owe me a credit for the unused gas (I filled the tank and returned it full). The storage system for the lockbox keys is terrible. I had to root through 10-15 keys as a vagrant stumbled toward me on the open sidewalk at 6am. I feared he was going to jump me for all the keys. I actually had a verbal confrontation with him. The return process on the app is extremely frustrating. There should be a summary of return instructions before you begin the process. And how do you easily take a picture of a glowing dashboard at night?? Parking lot was full of idling cars waiting to pickup students from an event. Almost impossible to navigate around.

Incredibly unreliable service. I requested furniture pads and a dolly that was unavailable and was still charged for it. I picked up the truck with an empty tank of gas, drove it 7 miles total, filled the tank to more than how I received it and was still charged a fuel fee. I dropped the van off 15 minutes before my reservation end time of 5pm and when I received the receipt in my email it said I dropped it off at 8am the next day so I was charged an "extra day" fee. I followed all of the steps of taking pictures of gas tank/mileage with date/time/location stamps and checked the car back in on the mobile app and was still charged $150 more than what I was supposed to.
