Uhaul screwed me over all i needed was a trailer to get my van home and they said they would not rent me just trailer that i would have to rent a truck from them also so that was another 400 dollars after being broke down for 5 days out of state then im forced to rent truck for 4 days when i only wanted trailer for 24 hours so truck 400 dollars gas for truck 350 dollars and then after being told if i turn truck in early i would get a partial refund but guess what that didnt happen i will never rent uhaul again for any reason and to top everything off the truck was a piece of crap transmission slipping

I rented on Aug 31, 2017 until 9-11-17. Day of return, 9-15-17. I was 4 days late due to hurricane hitting the state I reside, FL. Uhaul was notified that I would be late, and necessary charges were to be applied. However this was not my experience. That first day of rental the computer system showed that I had picked up the truck from Fort Walton Beach Florida when this was clearly not the fact. The next day I received an email reiterating that the rental truck was picked up from Fort Walton Beach, so I called the actual location to which I had rented from, I was told it would be taken care of by the time I return the vehicle and " it was a mistake in the computer system that for some reason kept showing ". Today I return the vehicle and to my shocking avail I was being way overcharged, as if I was paying the late fee from 9-1- 2017; according to the math... I was told that the computer system shows everything correct yet the clergy also stated "something is not right", then gave me the district manager number. Uhaul ripped me off!!! This needs to be fixed! Who can afford to pay over 1000$ for a moving truck, not to mention being forced to stay with it longer due to hurricane Irma!

The trailer had trash in it when I picked up. I talked to home office about returning late on the 2nd day. They told me to check with the location I picked up from. I called first thing Saturday morning and was told that a manager must approve it. When I called Laura she said neither manager would answer or return her phone call. It was very fustrating. They had an appointment that was supposed to pick up at 3:30 pm. I was trying to return around 12:30 pm - with a clean trailer. I kept the trailer a 3rd day. I was told it needed to be returned at 9am, even though the 2nd day had a 10am return time. Laura told me that the other employee didn't know what they were doing. I have been a retail manager over 10 years. It's disappointing when a manager will not return an employees phone call. And it's also not good to have employees telling customers that other employees "don't know what they are doing." I hated to keep the trailer 3 days. It's probably going to overdraft my account, but because no one would bother to return Lauras phone call, there was no other chouse for me. I've received help at other places I've rented at before. I will make sure I go to another location in the future.
