Even though the location was on the opposite side of town and the we had to go back again to the opposite side of town I enjoyed the uhaul experience.

Check gas levels. Drove truck 9.5 miles total and filled it just before returning. Put in 4 gal and still had room to go. That indicated 2.5 miles per gallon.

1. If a customer reserves a vehicle for a certain time (in my case, Sat @ 8 am), and if the immediately previous user does not return it at the time agreed (in my case, Fri @ 11 am) . . . THEN THE CUSTOMER WHO HAS IT RESERVED SHOULD BE NOTIFIED THAT THE ITEM MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE ON TIME!!! This should be done as an AUTOMATIC EMAIL as soon as the franchise has confirmed that the previous user has missed the deadline by, say, 4 hours. And it should be followed up by another email and a call before the end of the day. DO NOT KEEP THE NEXT CUSTOMER IN THE DARK!!! It is a very rude surprise to show up and find that the truck reserved is not available! 2. That being said--in my case, the owner, Mr. Cayetano, admitted that his staff should have contacted me the previous day, and he did his best to find an alternate solution. I settled for a smaller truck, and it was adequate, though not optimal. It worked perfectly fine, and the staff were friendly, competent, and helpful. 3. All in all, I would use this location again, but I would be very sure to verify that the truck was available before going to pick it up. Naturally, having people do this will make the staff's job harder. Automated email updates, as described above, would fix this problem.

Inside front window was so filthy that it kept fogging up and I couldn't see out of it. Sales rep had a flippant attitude with me. The entire experience with Uhaul was HORRIBLE! (with exception of the drop off location) First I was told via the website to go to the original pick up location for a vehicle inspection prior to tow. Your rep had no idea what I was talking about. Then he proceeded to tell me that my entire reservation was no good. There was no truck and tow trailer available and I had to travel some 50+ miles to get the truck in Van Nuys. I called your corp office and was told that the rep was wrong. Your corp office would call me a couple days prior to let me know the exact pick up spot in my area. Then, another rep called the day of the reservation to tell me 1 hour before my pick up time that the previous customer kept their rental past the due date and my rental was not available. Your rep at the pick up location was flippant, which I did not appreciate at all having gone through days of stress with your company. I had to wait while he cleaned a truck. The rep did a check of lights before I left. All was fine according to him. I went home and loaded the truck. When I was ready to leave hours later around 10pm, the tow trailer had no right side turn signal and no brake light. He flat out lied to me and sent me out with defective lights on the trailer. I was supposed to get a $50 guarantee and extra miles because you did not have my truck ready. I received no extra miles, your rep told me he just goes by what his computer screen says. Awesome. I was moving my elderly grandmother to her sister's in Prescott. I was returning on a 1 way flight which was non refundable. Your company put her and myself through so much stress and anxiety. We weren't even sure we had the truck reserved at one point and I had already booked an airline. Where is the $50 guarantee you promised?? I will NEVER rent another Uhaul again. I will be sure to pass along just how horrible you treat your paying customers. We spent over $800!! If I had to rent another truck for moving, I would pay DOUBLE the cost just to avoid renting from your pathetic company

the auto transport had only one strap fine, I need to loock for another uhaul place to get the other one, I lost 2 hours to fix the problem that you not check, then I paid 67.00 dls for bad equipment
