8am pickup from Boyce location in Orlando using online system. Truck was located at the back of an unmarked junkyard, not visible from front, with dog running loose and blocking my access. No U-Haul signage, no other trucks. Just a dirt road in a junkyard with a U-Haul in the back. Equipment was not inside truck so had to go to remote location to get supplies. Online approval took 30 minutes despite pre-check in. Truck also had half a tank of gas but entered as more. The U-Haul on Colonial was fantastic and got me the needed supplies and tightened the loose rearview mirror.
The best place to rent a uhaul truck
The dealership was on a dirt junk yard. The office was nearly impossible to find as it was a converted shipping container. There was no directional signage or any indication of the facility at the entrance to the junk yard or near the office site. The entire location made me feel uncomfortable as a single female picking up the trailer. The owner did not take my correct address, phone number, or even give me the trailer that was associated with my contract. They also gave us a defective trailer that added an additional four hours to the move as a result of having to contact customer service and have road side assistance fix the trailer. I would never recommend this location to anyone ever due to the poor interaction with the owner and the physical property. I would actually recommend people avoid that facility at all costs. Rebecca with customer service was a delight to work with, however. She addressed my concerns with dropping off the trailer to an alternate location as it would be in an unsafe part of town with no lighting. While she had to get authorization to drop it off at an alternate location from the area manager, she returned my call within 5 minutes which I was impressed with. She was empathetic, professional and car understanding and kind.
On December 3rd I waited 1.5 hours for An associate to arrive after multiple phone exchanges with customer service. Upon arrival, the associate was unfit for work that day. Paperwork to get on the way took another twenty minutes. Complaints to U-haul resulted in a refund that has not been processed yet. The area manager is looking into it. It is now December 19th. Overall very poor service from U-Haul.
We returned the trailer 7/22/16 5:00. Used google maps to find location - down a dirt road to a fenced area with parked vehicles. Ask the man on the lot if this was were we returned the trailer. He said yes leave it over there and I will check it in. Received a call 7/24 asking why trailer wasn't returned - told her when and where it was returned. Received a call 7/25 asking why trailer wasn't returned - explained again when and where it was returned. Received an email and charge for $40 stating it was returned to wrong location! WHAT? Called customer service for UHAUL and she stated that it wasn't wrong location but it said returned late 7/25/16. Wow! unbelievably messed up. I don't they have security camera but there are multiple toll booth cameras in Orlando that will prove when we returned trailer. This location needs some serious improvements. i'm thinking they may be trying to scam me for more money. The charge will definitely be declined on VISA but I hope UHAUL can prevent this from continuing.
New employees the ones in Orlando were completely incompetent took me 3 hrs to finally get my truck then when I returned it to the ace hardware in lake station Indiana that ass hole was trying to charge me for an appliance dolly that Idid not have worst rental experience of my life would not recommend U-Haul to any friends or relatives will never use U-Haul again in my life it's utterly amazing how such a big company can have so many stupid fucking employees representing them and the U-Haul in Orlando was supposed to be a corporate store what a fucking joke
I got there, they didn't have the size truck I reserved, had given me a free upgrade to a larger truck at no extra cost, just to be told they didn't have that either because the person who was supposed to bring the truck extended their reservation for another day, and I end up getting a smaller size than my original reservation because the guy said he would give me a credit so I wouldn't pay more, and yea.. didn't happen... He gave me the van filthy, completely empty in gas, and much smaller than what I needed resulting in more trips, causing more miles, hence a higher price than originally charged. This was the worst experience I've ever had with UHaul. Smh.
I scheduled a truck online. 26 foot to pick up in winter park, fl. Right after I scheduled it I called to verify the time I would pick it up. When I called they said they did not have a 26 foot truck. I told him that I would not be picking it up until the next day but I had a conformation email saying It would be there. He said he didn't know why the online system would say there would be one there, but there won't be. He said I could call scheduling and they would be able to tell me the closest location that had one. (My issue with this is that if I had not called to confirm the time I was picking it up then I would have gone the next day to pick up truck and it would not have been there). I called scheduling and after speaking with 3 different people in 3 different departments she said she found a truck 16 miles from my original pick up Location. (Well I was obligated at this pointe to go). When I picked my truck up at the Orlando location the authorized dealer system was down. Which Happens, I understand he could not control the operating system. What he could control was smoking a cigarette in front of myself and my help while on his cell phone outside calling in my reservation. He had a couple friends or possible co-workers outside with him. They carried on a conversation while cussing and using other foul language. When he confimed my reservation over the phone he told the lady from uhaul the gas was 3/4 full. When I got in the truck the gas was only 1/2 full. I immediatly got out of the truck and called the guy back over (while video taping him now) and I asked him to call uhaul back inform them the gas was only at 1/2. He said he could not do that b/c he was closing his shop. But that I could either have them (uhaul at drop off location) call him and he will verify it was only at 1/2 a tank, or I could just fill it up to 3/4 so there won't be an issue (again, this is on camera from my phone). I told him I was not going to put more gas in it than what was Originally in the truck. I then recorded me getting into the truck and showing where the gas tank was. Now, Fast forward to fort Lauderdale drop off location. We arrived and there are 2 people ahead of us. No one greeted us when we walked in, nor said we will be right with you. While we waited in line to drop off the truck, 3 other people came in (over a 20 minute window) none of those folks were greeted either. When we finally got to the front of the line we were asked for our paper work as he reached his hand out for the key in my boy friends hand. (Never said hello, never said how can I help You). He just reached his hand Out and asked for paper work. I proceeded to tell him we had no paper work bc the system was down at the pick up location and he called it in. He looked down at the key and typed something into the computer and said last name Johnson? And I said yes. He stood up and Walked away. Literally said nothing, just walked outside. A little difficult to find, but once we were there every worked out well. The owner's level of customer service is exceptional.
Had to call number and was told to drop off behind fence. Had to unload same trailer with no jack by myself
Location was near the airport which was good. It was not in the best part of town. There were people around that were not part of the business. It could be setup to be more like a professional business.
Get rid of the dealership in dirt road where sands is flying and area look like junk yard. Office is like someone just pee in there. Wait for an hour to get dirty filthy truck with no gas and oil change sign. Guy at returning refuse to take truck back with additional charges. And telling me that he don't work for Uhaul and just taking the truck back and not making any money on it. Why as customer I have to deal and hear this stuff. Not my business if he done make money. I paid almost $500 for renting a dirty truck from filthy place. I made reservation by calling 1800 number and that's the location they gave me to pick up and drop off. Worst customers experience from pick up to drop off. I call customer center 1800 number to give my voice when pick up truck. Was advised that district manager will call me. I called again during drop off to customer support. Just took information and no one had returned call or follow up yet. As company as this big, you need to rethink how customer service is important and how to deliver it. Just a shameful image I have recived on my first ever Uhaul rental.

This trick was being used as a junk yard dog, for moving junk car parts etc. I couldn't believe it only had 13,000 miles on it. The interior looked like it had at least 100,000 miles more. Not kool

0N 11/10/2014 THE STAFF WAS VERY RUDE AND GHETTO. THE DIANA CHICK SURE BE FIRED FOR HER LACK OF TALENTS. AND THE OWNER RAMI FAKHOURY SMELL LIKE A BAG OF POOP!!! AND TO TOP IT ALL OF THEY OVER CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD BY $200.00 WOULD NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN EVER ON THAT LOCATION.. THEY STINK.. AND STEAL..
The van was fine, the staff at Astro were amazing. The only issue is that UHaul was going to send us a $25 - 50 credit towards another rental but we did not receive it. (this van was used for a huge charity event at the Orlando convention center. The price of the van was quite a bit more that what was discussed. UHaul was going to credit back a bit to the charity group. I have not received the email or the credit as promised. Sally Davis
