We picked up the truck took it home went to start loading it up and realized it had a lock on the latch that they forgot to take off. We called them and they asked us to bring the truck back to their location so that they could unlock it for us. When asked if they were going to reimburse us for the gas/mileage they said yes definitely. They billed my card the full amount with no discount for us having to waste our time for their mistake.

Arrived unable to get in to lock box for vehicle key. Site manager who was to be 24 he assistance was unreachable. I had to call corporate who was helpful and competent. My choices were to wait almost an hour or go to another site that was about 30 minutes away. I was paying for movers to do nothing. The key had been placed in the other lockbox with a different code. Had the manager been left it correctly or even been available, this could have been better resolved. The corporate lady did resolve it well including a credit for the inconvenience.

The staff member who entered the contract info into the computer did not know that that terminal was not hooked up to the office printer. That caused an unnecessary delay in printing out a copy of the contract.

The rep that helped me, Grant, was super helpful and explained everything clearly. Also, the truck was new - only 1,500 or so miles. Nice that the equipment is not old and beat up.

It took for ever to get help. Finally I was helped by a very surly young lady. I asked her how I can adjust the mirrors and she replied that they were "not adjustable." That is impossible and terribly unsafe. She finally called a coworker who helped her figure it out. The final cherry on this sundae was a dead mouse right outside the exit. It was there when I picked up the truck and still there when I turned it back in. Very disgusting!

It's hard to find the U-Haul sign even driving in front of it, it could be much more visible. The van was in very good condition but the key controller used to open doors and turn on the alarm didn't have batteries and did not work! On top of this, the van had marijuana smell.

The U-Haul website is terrible. Said I could pick up on Sunday. Location was closed on Sunday. Good thing I called on Friday to confirm reservation. Said to pick up on Saturday "NO PROBLEM". Went to pick up on Saturday and was told I would be charged for two days instead of one! Big argument ensued. Owner and one of the employees were VERY rude and would not listen. Owner finally agreed we would only be charged for one day as long as we were there right when they opened in the morning. My printed confirmation also said pick up on Sunday but the owner also argued with me about that. Will never use this location again!

Service was horrible, it seemed like the owner, his wife, and employee didn't know how to do anything. There was a line of people waiting for service others walked out because it took too long. The owner was constantly on phone trying to get help on renting out vehicles! It was excruciating. The truck I rented was super dirty like it's never been washed in months! After we did the walk around to inspect truck I noticed a couple of chips in front windshield after I left. I called to tell the owner that I didn't see the cracks due to the window being filthy so he told me to bring the truck back! I told him that I already waited an hour in line then another 30 mins to get this truck and I'm already at my destination! So I ended up taking pictures of cracks and going back in my personal vehicle to show him the pictures. This was an experience I'll never endure again.

The people acted as if they'd never seen a computer before. He said it was his first time using rob system because he usual uhaul guy had the day off. And he said he had no training. How is that possible? It took him over an hour to rent trucks to three groups.

The one way return did not go well. I was given the wrong information, and was left on hold for 10 minutes when I called to arrange a drop off. The Postal Annex was closed on Monday and I was told by U-Haul rep it would be open. As it turned out, they had a 24 drop at the Postal Annex and I was only told about it when I called again on Monday.

I'm not sure it was actually the location's fault, but they were unable to access the actual contract and there were problems with the pricing and insurance. They did do their best to be helpful.
