First, I wanted to rent in Escondido, but was sent to Oceanside instead. Oceanside had minimal staff who were very slow and no one onsite to assist with connecting a trailer. The 12' enclosed trailer I reserved was damaged where the fender was bent into the tire preventing usability. Based on time I could not go to another location, so I had to settle with an 8' trailer which made the move very difficult.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had. Not only did the location cancel my reservation because I didn't confirm it for the second day in a row, they left me a voicemail telling me to come at 815 when they didnt open until 10. When I told the guy I had been waiting over 2 hours for my trailer he said it was my fault for not calling them back despite their voicemail confirming 815. We werent given any confirmation of contract or payment until we called Uhaul proper to complain and only then did we get it. The guy didnt help us to hook it up, inspect it, tell me if I had to pay there or if they can run the card on file or make sure the lights on the trailer work. He walked away and then about 5 minutes yelled out the door you're good bye. We had to call uhaul to ask if we were allowed to hook up ourselves since we have always been told no. I would never ever ever in a million years recommend this location to anyone. It was the worst experience of my life and delayed our move by 4 hours just to get the trailer. I have never encountered a location this rude, unprofessional, unwilling to help and just complete chaos. We called Uhaul at least 4 times today because the staff at location was so terrible. Save you're time and stress for a better location and people who actually give a damn!!!!

The staff was so helpful! Easy pick up and drop off. A little hard to find, since the trucks are way out back and Postal Annex is clear up front.

Advise cuatomer about lock in the back. I wasted an hour trying to figure it out. Cuatomer service over the phone was terrible.

Make sure if you sell Pads online that they have pads at the location. Make sure if you rent a truck to someone that you make sure the vehicle starts. Make sure when you call a customer informing them they have to do self check in that you set their order to self check in so they don't have to call support multiple times to get their vehicle. I also had to get a larger vehicle than I wanted, do to the other vehicle being inoperable. When doing my check in no one bothered to update the fuel amount on the new vehicle which was a 1/3 of a tank compared the the 4/5 of a tank on the original vehicle to my order So they tried to charge me for gas when I had put more gas in the vehicle than I used. I mean in all honesty I put 15 miles on the thing and was being charged for over a half a tank of gas. Even the worst vehicle gets better mileage than that. Overall this experience has made me and my family switch to a competitor for our short term rental needs.

I rented a 10 ft truck last Saturday and after I loaded the truck with my wife's grandmothers room which included a brand new bed and a few end tables and armoire. I noticed a foul smell. Too late had to drop off at my house 10 miles away. By the time I arrived and opened up the door and the smell was overpowering. It smelled like urine, feces and vomit. And of course so did grandma's stuff. I told Silvia when I dropped off the truck and she agreed the smell was horrible. She also informed me that homeless people often sleep in the trucks at night! I was hopeful that the smell would dissipate but it hasn't. In fact it has smelled up my whole garage. At this point I will have to replace all of grandma's stuff, only valued at around $600 bucks, the new bed was like $250-$280? Anyhow I talked with you Joe the regional manager today and he told me that he would refund me the $19.95 and that was it. Then he questioned me on why I moved stuff into the truck to began with. Which is a valid question. All I can say and Sylvia will agree, when we picked up the truck is was early morning and cold outside. Once the smell hit is was afternoon and warmer.. I am not a scientist but I think that the heat opened up the pores in the bed of the truck and the smell came out? I am not a deadbeat. I sell real estate full time and often refer my clients to U-Haul. However given the way I have been treated thus far I will be hesitant to continue to refer you, especially at this location in Oceanside. I place my order online but it was unfulfilled and they transferred it to Postal Annex and they forgot to include a dolly which Postal Annex put on the order for me and I was off in no time

Last rental I returned the truck, the guy did not give me anything to show that the truck was return in good condition. but he did go outside to check. This time the guy didn't check at all because he was alone in the store. I was afraid later on they may blame me on damaging the truck. I took pictures of the truck. I did return the truck with more gas than when I received it. I wanted him to see it. but he did not. I wish he would check the return truck so we would have a complete transaction.

We picked up the truck took it home went to start loading it up and realized it had a lock on the latch that they forgot to take off. We called them and they asked us to bring the truck back to their location so that they could unlock it for us. When asked if they were going to reimburse us for the gas/mileage they said yes definitely. They billed my card the full amount with no discount for us having to waste our time for their mistake.
