We waited over an hour to pick up our vehicle. According to the person working, the vehicle had come in the night before and was not ready. While he did a respectable job of cleaning the vehicle's interior, the delay presented challenges for our move. Additionally, it would have been respectful of customers if the business observed COVID precautions, particularly when renting shared equipment. Masks are a nuisance, true, but they are standard operating procedure for a public-facing business. U-Haul's online reservation system and accompanying customer service protocols leave a lot to be desired. We had initially reserved a one-way rental, but only an in-town rental was available. I understand the challenge of availability. However, we did not learn that a vehicle was not actually available until a day and a half before our rental date. U-Haul did not guarantee a similar rental elsewhere at the time of booking, credit us the $50 offered for other rentals, or offer to charge us the one-way price for the available in-town rental. Instead, U-Haul required us to begin the booking process again. By the time we did this, no vehicles that met our needs were available. We were forced to use a smaller truck at a higher cost.
Right turn signals and lights didn't work , no safety light check was performed at pick up, and the wiring looks like it was is bad shape for a long while
Return phone calls that left messages
truck was older and not well maintained. On moving day the left rear tire was flat. it took 3 hours of calling roadside assistance and trying to get help to come fix it. 7 times being transferred and arguing on the phone just to recieve help. when someone finally did come they found the tire had an old valve on it that was broken and leaking.
AMBER from scheduling SAVED OUR BUTTS/TRIP/LIFE by getting us the truck when we needed it instead of 8 hours AFTER THE CREW I HIRED was coming. My husband has lymphoma and I couldn't POSSIBLY DO THIS MOVE WITHOUT my community of friends and hired support. AMBER WAS AN ANGEL ðŸ˜‡
I was supposed to pick up my truck Friday night. This location had not done what they needed to do to allow me to do that. I had to return the next morning to get my truck. I then returned the truck to the location about 6 hours later, but this location was closed at that point. I was called the following day, a Sunday, to verify that I had indeed turned the truck back in within 24 hours. I verified that I had. A few days later I received my receipt, on which I had been charged for 48 hours of use. I was not told that I needed to self check-in the vehicle if returned after hours. For this, I was charged double. When I called to dispute these charges, and after much confusion regarding my rental and condition of my receipt in the office, I was told that because I hadn't self checked in, U-haul would charge me double, but that they would do me a FAVOR and reverse the charges. I was also told that even though all the furniture pads were still in the plastic and unused, I would still be charged for them. Overall, extremely unorganized, unprofessional, and unhelpful.

I totally understand that the truck I used was from the mountain area. It would have been nice to have had all the gravel vacuumed out . I wish I could remember the man and woman's name that were beyond kind to stay open an extra half hour beyond closing until I arrived! They were both so sweet and understanding! What an A+ team that U-Haul has in Oakhurst!
Friendly and welcoming
Had to go here 2 hours up the sierra nevada because Uhaul did not honor the rental in stockton and over booked their auto transport trailers. had to drive on dangerous mountain roads to reach location with uhaul truck and two vehicles then drive down the mountain roads to reach our original flat land route on hwy 99. Next time do not over book rentals and honor the contract at the locations that they were reserved at so customer does not have to stress and go 2 hours out of the way to do uhaul a favor by bringing equipment down from the sierra nevada mountains.

The only problem my head from the place I rented it from was it the guy told me three to Five times that the fuel needed to be a little bit over half a tank then when I returned it the guy said I needed 3/4 of a tankOther than that it was a cool place
Guarantee a rental and stop charging by the mile
The cab smelled TERRIBLE, the left front tire kept loosing air. I took it back to the shop. There he only filled the tire with air for the second time. I asked him to change the tire he said he couldn't but he could change out the vehicle. I told him it's fully loaded. He said I'll just put extra air. That was fine but I had to stop a few times to put more air in it. Also, the alignment is off, pulls to one side badly. It wore out my arms.

The owner of the shop this uhaul is a part of was an absolute asshole. He was talking about how all women deserve to be beaten. He refused to help me load my car on to the dolly, and was very rude.
Easy, pleasant and fast..
The first rental for the truck was misquoted to me by almost double the price (from $65 to $108). I had asked the customer rep (Monty Cleves?) why the quote was so wrong, but he insisted that U Haul made a mistake and charged me incorrectly. I was misled of the quote for the rental by almost twice. The second rental was better and corrected.

When I went in, one of the guys told me that they didn't have the trailer that I had reserved. Another guy looked at the computer and said that it showed up on the computer so it had to be there. Then they went out to find it.
