it's a gas station. they help you with the rental in between running transactions for gas and people buying snacks.

First, when I brought the truck in, the attendant started pointing out a bunch of minor blemishes/scuff marks in the paint. I had to tell him multiple times that I did not cause them. This truck has over 48,000 miles on it. It's not in pristine condition. Many of it's blemishes have little "X" sticker, many don't. It felt like he was trying to find an excuse to charge me extra. Then, he said I owed about $20 extra. I asked what that was for and, after consulting his computer, he asked if I had rented a dollie or anything else. I assured him I had not - his computer would have been able to tell him that. Then he said it was for gas. I had just put gas in the truck and knew it was at the same level as when I picked it up. (BTW, the place on the contract that helps the renter estimate how much gas will be needed is a very nice touch.) We went back out to the truck and he verified that the gas level was, indeed, fine. Finally, we went back to the station and he generated a receipt showing I owed nothing more. It was pretty clear to me that this guy was trying to slip in an extra charge, hoping I wouldn't challenge it. This is a shady business. If I owned U-Haul, these people would no longer have a contract effective today.

Be a little more experienced due to the fact that it’s a gas station so there’s people coming in and out
