There was an issue with the stripping around the windshield that we encountered mid-drive but that of course could have been an issue before it arrived at the North Haverhill location. The staff at the auto shop were super friendly and everything was a breeze!

While our experience at both the pick up and drop off locations were both above average, our overall experience with U-haul was abhorrent. We had primarily reserved a 17ft rental to be picked up Friday at 3:30 for 24 hours. However on Wednesday, we received a call that we could no longer have this particular rental, and that instead we would be set up with a 10ft truck for pick up Friday at 3:30pm and drop off Saturday 8:00am. This was due to the fact that the renters who currently had the truck at the time informed U-haul that they would not be returning the truck at the previously agreed upon time slot. This was completely unacceptable as we needed a larger truck and for more time. I finally got a hold of a regional manager, who found a 20ft truck for us to pick up Friday at 3:30pm in North Haverhill, which is a 30mile commute. She said, and I quote, “you will pay a FLAT RATE of $50 for 99 miles and you can have the truck for 48 hours. If you drive more than 99 miles you’ll only have to pay $0.40 per gallon.” I then specifically asked her “will I have to worry about this happening again?” Her response was “no the truck is being returned at 3:30pm today (Wednesday) and will be waiting for you on Friday.” Thinking our problem was fixed and accommodated, we set out on Friday afternoon for the long drive to pick up the truck. Half way there, we received a call at 4:15pm on a Friday evening that we no longer had access to our rental, which was a major issue because we were required to be out of our apartment by the end of Saturday. The man on the phone explained that he had been trying to reach the previous renters for hours to no avail, however he waited until 45 minutes before the end of the work week to alert us that our truck was MIA. We now had to scramble and call numerous other companies to try to find a truck large enough for our move and in time to vacate our apartment. About 30 minutes later we finally heard back from U-haul that our truck had been returned and we could come pick it up. Relieved, we arrive at the location only to be told that our total was over $80, when I had been specifically told by the regional manager that I would be paying no more than $50. He explained that the extra charges were for insurance and taxes, neither of which were mentioned to me by the regional manager. I am lucky that I had my credit card on me because I came prepared with only $50 in my wallet. The gentleman also was unaware that we were supposed to have the truck for 48 hours instead of 24, and had to make changes in his system to accommodate us. He also mentioned that this incident wasn’t necessarily the previous customer’s fault, because they had the truck booked for 24 hours which put their return time AFTER our pick up time of 3:30, making this completely the fault of U-haul. This entire ordeal was incredibly nerve-wrecking and stressful, especially for someone like me who is 7 months pregnant on the evening before a big move. U-haul simply relie

Disappointed with the call I received last minute from corporate indicating that there was no trailer available. I reserved at least two weeks in advance. The guys at R & M took care of me and found a unit and they picked it up and had it on hand when I needed it.

Well I sat there for 2 hours just because the person filling everything out didnt know what they were doing and nothing on the computer would process. Second of all when I reserved the uhaul I was given a renting amount which changed when I went to get the uhaul. An amount shouldn't be given when its not going to stay the same.

The location and staff were excellent. My issue is with the Uhaul process that automatically put in the number of moving blankets WAY more than anyone would ever need. Someone should of realized that. Way over charged for that and since the system 'automatically' populated the field we didn't know we had ordered that many. Seriously not good business practice (greedy actually) by the larger Uhaul company.
