Very in organized system. I received an email to pick up at one location. I then called to double check my reservation was at that location and they told me yes. When I arrived at the location they told no my reservation was not at that location but at another one across town and that they closed in thirty minutes. And proceeded to give the number to the wrong location. And when I attempted to find the location that my reservation was at, it's in the middle of a not so neighborhood, the building itself didn't have a sign, trash and junk everywhere, and then I ask the guy if they have received anything about my reservation and he tells me, "no, they do not tell us anything."

I have deep concerns regarding the integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness of the uhaul staff member at the Arcos location, in addition to concerns regarding the scheduling procedures with uhaul in general. To begin, I booked my uhaul truck and auto-transport three weeks prior to the pick-up date. I called the day before to confirm, per the recommendation of a friend who recently had issues with her uhaul reservation. When I called the day before, I was notified that a 15-foot truck was not available at my preferred location, and they weren’t sure if they would have one for me. When I asked when I would be notified of this, the representative told me, “you should get an email.” I never received an email. After MUCH back and forth and multiple phone calls, I was told that a larger truck (20-foot) would be available at the Arcos location in uptown New Orleans. When I asked how they planned to compensate me for the additional money I would be spending on gas, they indicated that I would be given a $50 refund. When I arrived at the Arcos location for pick-up, there was a 15-foot truck parked outside (despite being told they didn’t have one). I walked inside to a filthy office, bugs everywhere, with cats walking around (no exaggeration, something out of a horror movie). There was a young man sitting behind the desk who was polite but minimally helpful. I questioned his authority and knowledge of the work he was doing. He indicated to me that his “printer wasn’t working” so he’d have to email the contract to me. The desk was covered in contracts and receipts with no visible sign of an organizational system. When I returned the next day for the auto transport to get connected, he indicated that “uhaul doesn’t approve of the way I tie up the transport.” When I stated that they probably had safety regulations, he stated, “no I don’t think that’s it. I do it safely.” On two occasions during the hook-up process, I prompted him to make a correction to his process. He proceeded to ask questions about properly securing my vehicle to the trailer. I asked, “You work here, you know how to do this, correct?” He responded, “Yeah, but I just wanted your opinion on what would be the safest for your car.” Upon return to the Uhaul at my destination, I was informed by the customer service rep that the car was not properly secured to the axel of the vehicle, and that it had in fact been tied to a plastic piece on the bumper. When I reflect on how damaging it would have been had an accident occurred, and the striking irresponsibility of the uhaul staff member, I am confident that uhaul would have had a major lawsuit on their hands. My recommendations include the following: 1. Ensure proper training of staff. 2. Ensure clean facilities. 3. Ensure technology is up to date and scheduling procedures are conducted with fidelity. The location was congested. This is beyond employee control. I received the incorrect truck. I was told this after i had loaded it. I returned to the store to get another truck. I unloaded the 17' truck and loaded the 10' truck. I paid for a 17' truck, but actually used a smaller truck 10'. I was charged for two days, but only used the vehicle 1 day. Actually 3 hours and 6 minutes. I would like to know if i will be receiving any of my money back. I was charged for two days, but only used it forcone day. Rental Agreement #87700347

Martin, far exceeded what customer service is. I flew in from Dallas to help move my daughter to her apartment and we decided to just get a uhaul to make it all easy on us. We showed up at Arcos. Martin greeted us as soon as we came in to his shop, not realizing we needed a reservation to get a truck, he was fully booked that day but he manage to accommodate us and gave us a truck to use. We were beyond thankful. When we returned the truck, I asked for his recommendation for car AC repair because my daughter’s car ac isn’t working. He told us to come back before he close his shop and he can take a look at it. He did and manage to give us wise counsel in what’s wrong with the car and where we can take it. Martin, THANK YOU for making us feel like family, thank you for going the extra mile to make your customers feel satisfied. Thank you for being so gracious to me and my daughter. The drop off location was so rough, I wasn’t about to fill up there. Again, I should have been told about the Equipment Contract fees as who actually reads the contract. U-haul equipment contract: 03 Cleaning $25 EZ FUEL Sales $54.25 Fuel fill-Up fee $30 The truck had just over 1/2 tank to start. I feel that all tricks should be full on leaving. This comment is for Uhaul and not for Arcos. You changed my pick up location without communicating that to me which forced me to lose a day of packing. The only reason I didn't complain was because Arcos had such incredible customer service.

I was charged for “SafeMove” coverage. This was never made known to me, mentioned at anytime, whether on the phone during reservations or in person when picking up the vehicle. I have always refused these coverage options in the past. Even on 600 mile trips. I would have certainly opted out on this occasion being that I only drove 17 miles total and had the truck for only 5 hours. I have spoken twice with the renter today and he has not heard back from his supervisor about my request to have this charge removed. I am awaiting a response tomorrow morning, per our most recent conversation. Other than that, everything was great! I rented from Penske last time and the truck broke down so I was happy to try U-Haul again.

The location was at an auto repair place and there was no room to drop off the trailer. There is no real parking lot, just dirt areas around the street. We got the last patch of grass along the building. It's not in a good area of town.

If I'm 3 hrs late don't charge me for a full day when I've rented well over 20 times in past six months. I won't use u haul again!!!
