The gentleman in new Hartford location is knowledgeable, pleasant, and efficient. I have been back a few times to this location due to him. I wish I remembered his name but he is a one man show so it should be easy to find him. Outstanding customer service.

I had a reservation for 9 am on Dec 3. I called to inform them that there was broken glass outside my storage unit and the guy told me he was at the DMV and wouldn't be back til 9:30. By the time I waited in line and the paperwork was done I didn't get started moving until 10. I had people standing around for over an hour. I was also told to have the truck back by 1:15, that's less than my 4 hr rental. Never will I use U-haul again!

When picking up my truck I was told that my truck was not available even though it had been reserved. A representative name Francis at west Hartford storage(in CT) told me that I can only rent a certain truck. This truck was bigger than the truck that I needed and more money. I left his office then called corporate and they told me that the truck was on site I walked around back and saw that the truck I had reserved was indeed there. Francis, dismissed me and refused to give me the truck I reserved, until corporate called Francis and essentially made him rent me the truck I reserved. I am not sure if Francis tried to sell me a bigger truck because I was a woman but regardless is was very shady. Francis said "I don't give a crap about U-Haul" he says he works for his boss in Florida and U-Haul works with his boss and Francis does not work for U-Haul. Even though I received a business card and it said that Francis was a "U-Haul representative". (The U-Haul Bokel was plastered all in the office Francis worked in). He refused to give his bosses name in Florida so I could not lodge a formal complaint with him. I later find out- from Francis that he gets compensated for the trucks that he rents for example the bigger trucks he's rents the more profit he makes (even if it's minimal). he told us that he works through his boss not U-Haul as a third-party. I suggest anyone wanting to rent trucks to call U-Haul corporate to make a reservation first, as the representative at the sites do not disclose all the trucks they have available because it's all a money making endeavor. I am unsure why he would not give me the truck whether it be from moneymaking endeavor's or for biases. After an hour and a half Francis finally gave us the truck he claimed he didn't even have on site. Francis left the U-Haul office on multiple occasions and there was customers waiting outside a locked business who all had appointments during working hours. This was a very unprofessional experience and Francis left in the middle of our conversation and told me I would have to exit his office as he was the only worker and he had other appointments to make. When speaking with corporate on the phone they were more than helpful in trying to solve this issue with Francis. Francis was extremely unprofessional and didn't make me feel valued as a customer. I called corporate and put a Maria( who was very helpful) on speaker speakerphone so she could hear the way Francis was talking to customers.

The guy who I rented from did not know that if I returned the vehicle a day early I would not be charged for the second day. He thought I had to return it by 2:30pm (when he closed). I knew from past experiences that I had 24 hours with the truck and confirmed with Corporate customer service. In addition, the truck was anything but clean on the inside of the cab. I would rend a truck from this location again. I have had a much better experience else where.

The reservation website indicated the location opens at 8am on Saturdays. I arrived at 8:05am and waited until 8:25am for the manager to arrive. He told me that he has asked U-Haul not to make reservations before 8:30am.

Called Harwinton, CT and rented truck previous week. Rec'd confirmation text. Rec'd updated text that I had to pick up 12 miles away in New Hartford. Was unable to pick up the night before. I believe I am eligible for a $50.00 refund. Please confirm via email

Really appreciated that I was told I could not go on the Merritt Parkway. I didn't realize the Uhaul is a Commercial Vehicle. Might want to explain the Tow/haul light and that when braking it kicks in an additional breaking. Kind of freaked me out the first time. Customer support was terrific!

Follow through on your guarantee. I should have recieved $50 for the truck rental not being ready when requested. Instead I waited for nearly a half hour and was met with a moderately friendly employee. Also the people on the phone at this location did not know wgat they were talking about. There was a lot of back and forth with them and way too much of a headache.

Van was clean and ready to go! Thank you. Wasn't overly impressed with the customer service. He wasn't very friendly, and I arrived to return van at 2:45 to find the location (due to close at 3:00) already closed.

The clerk was late, the van wasn't clean, ywt I was charged $25.00 cleaning charge. I'm wondering if the previous renter was also charged?

Everything went great with no problems. The fellow who worked there was courteous and explained everything thoroughly. The 10' truck was clean and ran well. We'll definitely use this location again in the event we need a rental van or truck.

First of all, I had reserved the tow dolly for pick up in Westfield, MA but then I got a phone call and I was told I had to drive an hour to New Hartford, CT and I couldn't get the $50 refund even though my reservation was for Westifeld. Then the employee in New Hartford was horrible. He was incredibly rude and sexist. He was on his cell phone the entire time. He was playing obnoxious reggaeton super loud. He rolled his eyes when I said I was towing the car by myself and said I should really get some help from a guy. Then he gave me incorrect instructions - he told me to unhook the tow dolly before I pulled the towed vehicle on otherwise I would "flip" the towing vehicle. I watched the tutorial video on the Uhaul YouTube channel and that said to leave the dolly attached to the hitch. And I called the Westfield Uhaul and they said to leave the dolly attached too. He was totally wrong and ridiculously rude. And all his front teeth are rotten.

I reserved for what I thought was 24 hour rental. Until I arrived for pick up and was told it was only 12hrs and would have to have the vehicle back by 9am the following day when I thought I reserved from 3pm to 3pm. Very poor communication on uhaul part.

We were told by UHaul to show up at this location at 8am. When we arrived, the sign on the door indicated that they opened at 8:30am. We returned at 8:35 and no one was present. There were signs on the door with contact phone numbers. We spoke with Francis who told us he was on his way. He did not arrive to the location until 9:10am. He told us that they ask UHaul not to book them until after 9am. I explained that we were told 8am. He was rude and unapologetic for our inconveniences.

Requested the truck for 8:30 am and it wasn't ready until almost 10 am because they had to use the truck to move a trailer that someone left in the wrong spot. This made us late for where we needed to be since the truck was being used to haul things for a function that started at noon. We pulled in at noon and the function had to start without anything set up. Very upset about this.

This process was confusing and poorly run. I originally had to go to two different places for pick up and drop off at a location far from me. The logistics of uhaul are downright confusing and awful. I would not recommend this service to anyone. Furthermore, there are undisclosed fees and insurance which increased my cost by $100. This is not necessarily an honest practice, and I do not appreciate how I felt trapped into paying the final amount. Again, I will not reccomend this company to anyone. Thank you.
