Customer Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. Equipment was in good shape
Friendly people. Easy process. Well done.
This had to be the worst experience in moving that I have had to date. I down loaded the U-Haul app three days prior to Sunday 8/9/20 so that I would be ready and prepared to pick up my 10' rental truck when the doors opened at 9 am at the U-Haul of Wedgewood, 1816 8th Ave. South, Nashville location. I followed the instructions and confirmed my rental prior to Sunday, I entered my drivers license number , downloaded a copy of my driver's license and did everything that it requested leading up to Sunday. I downloaded the app and took all the necessary steps so that I could get the truck and not have any delays. We had a deadline of when we needed to arrive in Knoxville and it was important that we get the truck right at 9am when the doors opened. I was on the UHaul lot at 8:30am and began the process of using the app...I took another phont of my licenese and uploaded it even thought I had already done that the day before. I followed all the step and paid with my credit card and then when I opened the lock compartment where the truck key was suppose to be the key was not there. By this time is was 9am there were 12 people in line( people were lined up out the door) and only one UHaul employee checking people in. I got lucky because this employee left the front desk to check on a piece of equipment and I cornered him and told him the key to the truck was not in the lock box. He said that the key was put in there last night and he wasn't able to help me without the truck number. Since I had already paid in the app, it didn;t show the truck number and there was no way to go back to reference it. I had already located the truck and pointed it out but he said he couldn't do anything about it without me being able to show him the truck number even thought the receipt was on my phone with the order number. I then had to wait while he finished checking other people in even thought I had already paid and had unlocked the box to find no key. Finally, he started searching for the key to the truck only to not find it and he had to re-issue me another truck. I was finally able to leave the UHaul lot at 9:48am after being there since 8:30am and doing everything that was requested of me by you mobile app. This had to be the worst experience I have had to date and it made up late for the move in time in Knoxville. I have to say that during this time of extraordinary high unemployment you could easily hire 3-4 more people to your morning shift to handle the large number of customers. There are many people out there looking for work and your business needs additional employees to service the customers and business that you have or we will go to another rental moving company. I am a very unhappy customer and I would appreciate a call to discuss the poor service that I recieved. Thank you-
I opted to do the 24/7 pick up option and showed up at 7:30am on Sunday August 9 to pick up my moving truck. However, when I tried to log in online (and also called customer support) I was informed that I would have to wait until the location opened at 8:50am to get my truck. So I came back at 9am and there were about 4 people ahead of me in line. I didn't drive away with my truck until 9:45am which cut into my rental time. At first there was only 1 person at the front desk and about 7-8 people in line. Finally around 9:20 another gentleman walked in but the line still took awhile to move. First of all, it's false advertising to say you offer 24/7 pick-up when you really don't. Second, it's poor planning to put one person at the desk when it's a weekend in August, when A LOT of people are obviously going to be moving. And lastly it's frustrating to count on having a truck at one time and for it to not be available until over 2 hours later. Thankfully I still had moving help but this may have really screwed up some people's plans. This experience gave me the impression that U-Haul takes for granted people's dependence on their services. I look forward to the day I own my own truck and don't depend on them for moving services.
I had a 24/7 pick up at 8 am. I arrived at 7:50 am. The online pick up didn't work. When I called I was on hold for an hour. For what? I was told to just pick up my truck inside the store because it was open. The in store pick up took another hour. I finally received my truck at 9:50. Only to realized that my dolly wasn't even in the truck. I had to go back to get it. Only to be walked around back and told to just grab one. I left the parking lot finally at 10:10. This was a terrible experience. My movers arrived at 9 am. I had to have then wait for an hour plus while I arrived. I need some sort of refund.
No one at the counter all three employees out back smoking while multiple customers waiting.
The staff was very friendly; however, this location was significantly under staffed and customers had to wait outside for over an hour. Our moving pads were not in the trailer and I had to return to this location to pickup the moving pads. I also found a moving dolly in the trailer that I did not order and I had to return that item. Again, very nice folks when they did provide you customer service; just understaffed for the volume at this location.
Over an hour to pick up trailer
Customer service. Professionalism.
Dropped off after hours. The lot was very crowed so dropping off the trailer as tight. And I could not load the picture of the clean inside of the trailer.
Pulled in parking lot with lots of activity but was immediately directed to return line; removed my trash from cab and rep immediately began detailing interior while another collected the key and said I was all done. Done in less than 2 minutes.
I had trouble locating the after hours key drop. Aside from the ‘man-splaning' and misogynistic attitude, the attendant was helpful.
The online rental check-out and check-in was not efficient. I had to wait until the store opened to actually rent the van and the drop off was not explained. Also, the key was partially broken and took an additional trip back to the rental location to figure out how to rig it to work. And the vehicle needed the airbag sensor serviced. Also, the A/C in the vehicle was intermittent.
Location is great geographically. Staff was rushed and stand-offish, but was more polite after talking with them for a while. I had already gone through my rental process before arriving. They did not have the dolly I requested in my order either, which I placed weeks in advance.
Didn't have the vehicle I reserved and didn't honor the $50 guarantee. Rude staff.
They were all so good to work with!
Efficient return on a busy college move-in day.
Even though I made the reservation 5 days in advance, had 2 email confirmations, 2 text message confirmations, talked to a live person on the phone to confirm, logged into my dashboard for the "mobile check-in / pickup", tapped my reservation and it said it couldn't be completed. The 24/7 check in is "glitchy", so then I show up the next day, and the manager told me he canceled the reservation without my permission because I was a "no-show" (even though I have pictures of me standing outside at the reservation time with timestamps included) and tons of screenshots documenting the entire booking and check in process. The manager, after canceling my reservation told me that he had run out of uhauls and there were none available within 100 miles until 2 days later... 36 hours later, after 3 trips back to the wedgewood uhaul location (pleading and begging), he gave me an "in-town" local move option and pre-charged me for mileage that I did not use AND told me I had to return it to another location 10+ miles away (despite me explicitly stating 3 times that I only needed 15 miles, he charged me for 30+). When I returned it, the other manager told me it had NOT been booked as an in-town move, and that it was booked as a "one way" even though it was the same city. I was also told that the extra mileage I was charged for IN ADVANCE without my permission (and that I didn't use) could NOT be reimbursed. Hands down the WORST experience I've ever had; terrible customer service and incompetent, careless workers. I've moved 10 times in 11 years, and I will never be using UHAUL again. Thanks.
Everyone was great and helpful.
I was supposed to pick up my truck from Annex Drive in Nashville. Absolutely horrible experience. This location should be shut down permanently. I waited in line 45 minutes with only 3 people in front of me. Employees were clueless. Then after the long wait was told they were out of trucks and they moved my reservation to 8th avenue. They said someone was supposed to have called me or texted me. They didn't! This location is really making UHaul look like crap. PLease let me know if you want to discuss, but this was the biggest nightmare ever. However, when I got to 8th avenue location over an hour later, they were fast, courteous, professional, apologetic, and made me happy again with UHaul by the time I left there. So if this survey gave me an opportunity to rate the Annex location, it would be the worst rating I could give. But 8th Ave is absolutely a 5 star.
Size of location, amount of equipment and efficiency of operation was impressive. The gentleman that assisted me was knowledgeable and helpful. I hit the wrong button while providing license and he was patient getting to the information. The truck was quite dinged up and we would never be able to pit x's on all of them. Also, I had to tie down some stuff in the bed of the truck but it was missing a few of the hooks which made tieing down challenging.
I dropped of my trailer at this location and the individual helping me did not give me the wiring adapter I was required to purchase when I picked up the trailer.
Order a dolly and it was not available at pick up. Drop off was very disorganized.
The Wedgewood location itself was great, but the lady that we spoke with at corporate to book the reservation was very hateful. All I know was her name was Lisa, but I couldn't believe how rude she was.
