The staff at the location were very helpful despite technical limitations outside of their control. These problems were on the UHAUL side of things and were very disappointing for everyone involved. Because there are no specific questions directed toward these types of problems, I am addressing them in the comments.

The personnal at the drop off location did not know how to check in the vehicle. The person responsible for check in was off and would not be in until the next afternoon. I was uncomfortable leaving without a walk around.

I called ahead a few days before I was to arrive to rent a U-Haul to make sure they would have one available to me. They did. I was driving from North Carolina to Arkansas an 11-hour drive. I had one afternoon to take care of a family estate. This was supposed to be the day. I arrived at the UHaul rental between 2-2:15 p.m. One young woman was working; she was the only one. I picked out the U-Haul I wanted, a 4X8 (there were two of them and one looked really old. Its seams looked as if they had been caulked very messily. I chose the newer one.) The young woman said the newer one wasn't available because there was a truck parked in front of it and she didn't have the key. Then she said to me, "I sure hope you know how to hook it up because I don't." I said, "well I'm going to need some help." A young man was in the store, a friend of hers, and she asked him to help and he did. Very nice, but he couldn't get the lights to work. After eyeballing both ends, he said my light attachment on my car was the problem. Told me to go to the auto parts store in town and I could buy a replacement part and they would put it on. I thanked him for his time, about 25 minutes, and paid him $20. Then I drove to the auto parts store and asked for a replacement part. The manager, a terrific fellow, ended up coming out to my car and working on it. I paid about $12 for various parts needed. He spent a good 11/2 hours trying to get the U-Haul lights working, which he couldn't. He finally got his tester and checked the U-Haul end of the light attachment and discovered it was the problem. Now it's nearly 4 p.m. and I'm running out of time. I pay him $30 for spending his afternoon working on your U-Haul trailer. I have to go back to the UHaul rental place and trade U-Haul trailers. The young woman at the UHaul rental is no longer there; another woman is. I tell her what has happened and that I am switching UHauls. My cousin arrives to help me manually move the newer 4x8 Uhaul out from behind the parked truck with no key and attach it to my car. The lights sort of work. The right blinker does not. I drive back another 659 miles with no right blinker. And I'm out nearly $200, $65 of that to pay for broken UHaul lights. I"m not happy. If you are going to hire people to rent UHauls, then you need to make sure they know what they are doing.

I'm kinda used to having a Uhaul employee tend the trailer connections. Had my wife been taking the trailer back by herself and no one was there to unhook it then it would have been a problem

Took 45 minutes to complete the contract due to internet issues, no accommodations were made for the long drive we had to go to pick up the unit after making the reservation online at a more convenient location, overall I was very disappointed with u-haul in general. Not sure I will use them again.

I resereved a trailer with southwind uhaul. I showed up to pick up my trailer, nobody was there I called, and owner was 2 hours away. He gave me code to locked gate told me just to take trailer was suppose to be 6x12 but the opening was not 6 foot because of ramp braces. Dimensions online did not account for that. I called owner to request bigger trailer he did not answer and never returned my call. I then proceeded to parsons velero uhaul in mountain view. After 45 minutes I got a trailer. I received zero paper work which caused a problem when I tried to return it. After hunting for my contract and calling uhaul the place I returned it to was satisfied.

Horrible experience booking through 800 number.First was supposed to have a 17 foot truck, then when calling back with confirmation on rental they told me they only had a 14' or 20' truck so I had to take the 20' truck(they did take 10% off rental price, but still was more than 17' cost) I was told that I would receive a call the day before my rental to confirm and I didn't hear back from them so I called them and they confirmed my pick up for mountain home, Ar. I then received a confirmation email at 7pm saying my rental was reserved for mountain view, Ar 100 miles round trip drive away, I called the 800 number and they told me there was nothing they could do and had to call back at 8am the next day to talk to a manager, so I called back the next day at 8am and was on hold for 45 min then finally talked to someone who transferred me to tony a manager cell phone and had to leave a message and got disconnected so I had to call back and was on hold for 50 min before getting disconnected again. Since I had to have the truck to meet a deadline I payed a friend to drive me the 100 miles round trip to pick up the truck then had to drive back to pick up the trailer at a different location taking up 4 hours out of the day, the inside of the truck was dusty and the back of the truck was full of dirt not swept out. I then received a call back from tony the manager and he told me that the 800 number will tell you what you want to hear and there's nothing that could be done. It's horrible to make someone have to go out of there way and inconvenience them to waste there time and money and just to here all well there's nothing that we can do to help you. It's hard to ever want to use U-Haul again

Was not able to pick up truck at original location which was a pain, but got a truck a little further away. I got extra miles because of that. I was a little concerned about mileage but it worked out fine.

See to it that your employees are well-trained in the procedures to check out and check in. And require them to have operable computer equipment. I would have been uncomfortable at the check-out place if it had been dark.

I have picked up U Haul here before. It was just the person handling the transaction this time. She was friendly but didn't take the time to do a pre-pick up check. I found things broken such as trim, and in operable hi beam lights and food left from previous driver. They are still a decent place for U Haul rentals.

I was a bit frustrated that I reserved a uhaul in Cabot, AR, received confirmation, but was called one day prior to scheduled pick up to be advised there was no unit in my area and that I would have to travel to get it, if I still wanted it. Last minute I had no other options, but I can say for the future uhaul will not be my first choice.
