I was to pick up the truck at 3 p.m. at the Highland Ave. Location. I called the day before to confirm and the lady was very nice and said to come anytime that the truck was there and ready. I arrived at the Highland Ave location at 2:40 and the place was closed, the truck was there but the doors were locked to the hair salon where that haul office is located. We called the phone number on the door and left a message. The owner said that she thought we had cancelled but she said that she would be there in 20 mins. I called the Birmingham office and they called her and she told them that she was at lunch and she would be there in 15 mins. After 50 mins. I called the Birmingham office again and said that I was still waiting and that I was in a horrible part of Montgomery with very questionable people around the area and that I needed help. I had tried calling the owner of the office several time but she would not pick up or return calls. After an hour, Randal Ingle, the Area Field Manager showed up and went right to work cutting a key for the truck and making sure the truck was in good order for me. He got information from me, i.e.. drivers license number and phone number. He said that he would take care of filling out all of the forms so that I could get on my way. He gave me his card and said for me to call him if I needed anything and tote him know when I turned in the truck to the final destination and he would take sometime off of my bill for my trouble. He apologized for the Highland Ave. Neglect and sent us on our way. He was very nice and he really made me fill a whole lot better, like Uhaul really cared about ME!

Well my entire Uhaul experience wasn't very pleasant. I'm not one to complain and I'm not one to leave reviews but I really think others should know Uhaul all together needs work. The website states that if your Equipment isn't available that you reserve you can get $50 and that's complete BS. I reserved the truck and dolly 1 week prior to pick up at a actual Uahul location not a dealer centrally located in My city near the furniture being moved. I did not receive the phone call the day prior like the site said I would so I stopped by the location to be informed my reservations had not been made so I would have to pick the truck up 15 miles away and then the dolly would be at a 3rd location 10 miles in the opposite direction. I mentioned the fact that the driving would use gas and log miles on the truck I'm renting to get the dolly and the manager insisted U hauls policy wasn't your equipment being available at the location you request but that it would be available elsewhere and you may have to travel to get it!! I called the 1-800 customer service # and was told it would all be handled and they would call me back that same day and they never did. I called the location back and finally got the regional managers # and he was very courteous. He actually drove to the other locations and picked the truck and dolly up and brought them to the reserved location on his personal time. My suggestion to anyone looking to rent you better read the small print Uhaul has and the $50 you can receive if your equipment isn't available is a marketing lie. If I could change anything about my truck rental I would have went with Penske even though they cost a little more it would have been worth the hassle. This is my 2nd and last Uhaul experience.

I returned the truck one day early with more fuel than was required. I have received an email with additional charges for gas and a late payment service fee. I am disputing the charges and do not intend to pay them. I would appreciate a call to clear this up.

only one issue. i guess i was given the wrong truck. the manager called from the drop off point to discuss the issue. he said he would handle it so i let it be.

Because of the issues we had getting the truck I don't feel it was very fair to charge me for the extra 5 miles as I also left the truck with a half of tank of fuel...ridiculous! I understand the reps have to follow policies and guidelines but they should be authorized to waive a small charge such as 5 miles. Espicially when the customer gives you $30 worth of fuel.

Everything was awesome!



I was really upset because we asked several times to make he had us dropping off at Gordon Hwy in Augusta, Ga and the saleman said yes and that we could drop off at any U-haul in Augusta, Ga. When we got to the location on 11/11/12 on Gordon Hwy we were told that we couldn't drop off there because he had us dropping in SC at Rock N Turf, which had us driving way out of out way in the opposite direction we were travelling. I was totally dissatified with this rental.



This UHaul Specialist was very cordial and friendly. Even though this location was across town. I would still drive across town to give him my business. He was just that nice. I would strongly recommend that location to my friends in that area. and anyone requiring truck rental quality service



Keep up the good, friendly work! Don't be afraid to expand. Let customers know it's not a "complete" U-Haul facility. Thanks!






After we loaded the truck and were in transit, it began to rain. When we arrived to unload we discovered the truck had several bad leaks in the body. A number of boxes containing books, important papers, and clothes were thoroughly soaked (estimated damage around $300 to $400. We took pictures. When we returned the truck, the local U-Haul representative (Leo Simmons) was very apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned. He admitted that the truck had been sent to B'ham for repairs previously and thought it had been repaired. When he called his superior (Scott Ingle) he was told to collect the money from me and that Mr. Ingle (who handled the insurance) would call me to file the claim. I never heard from Mr. Ingle. I am considering legal action.
