The equipment was clean, but mechanically it was in terrible shape. The small right mirror was held in place with tape and the larger right mirror flapped in the wind so as to make it useless. Good thing I had someone riding with me to hold it so I could use it when I needed to change lanes. And the transmission was also in terrible shape. Every time I changed from Drive to Reverse, there was a VERY loud “clunk†that shook the whole truck. It really needs to be fixed!
Sal S.Uhaul was not safe to drive. Steering wheel was sideways when driving straight appeared to have transmission issues as well. I was not able to reach uhaul. Lady at pickup location said that all the systems were down. The check engine light was on too. I've rented many uhauls over the years and never had so many issues. This truck needs to be removed from service before you are responsible for someone's death. Had I not had such a short window with no flexibility I would never have driven it.
