i kinda was forced to purchase the insurance,because there was damage to the trailer and when i asked about it, they said it was noted but not seeing it in writing and damage on it with nothing to verify. i had to purchase the insurance to have a peace of mind costing me more money that i didnot have to spend. Not very happy with that.

The pick-up location was not the one I reserved. This was an unexpected inconvenience to me. In addition, the equipment I reserved was not available, even though, the very day before, I had been assured over the phone that all the equipment I had reserved was in place and ready for pick-up. When I arrived (to the inconvenient location) to pick up my reserved vehicle & equipment, I was told that the equipment was not available because people have been failing to return equipment (hand dollies) with the trucks, and there was not a single one on the premises to supply my reservation. Granted that customers failing to return equipment is wrong, but if this is a fact of the business environment then it should be factored into the cost of doing business and investment should be made to have replacement inventory available. This is investment that should come from the parent company, not from the individual franchisee. Very poor management at the parent company level. In addition, if vehicle return is so uncertain that U-Haul cannot guarantee vehicle availability at the reserved pick-up location I recommend that there be a very prominent posting on the website alerting customers to the fact that their reserved pick-up location may not be honored, and that they may need to go to an alternate location within an X-mile radius of the reserved location. Either that or provide staff to drive the vehicle to the location that the customer reserved.

I rented an appliance dolly and it was broken. I still had to lift the appliance. But went I returned the truck and the dolly I spoke with the lady that was there and she didn't charge me for it. she was really nice and apologize.

I used the after hours feature. Thankfully some employees were still There because it did not work the server could Not be found it took about an hour to pick The truck Up And No headlight on the Driver side. My request and the confirmation that I received was a 17' truck to be pick up at 8:00am at: Quick Stop 1041 New Haven Rd Durham, CT 06422 When I arrived, the Quick Stop person told me that I had to go Meriden, CT, which did not make me or my boss happy. Then on the way to Meriden, I received a call asking me where I was. I was suppose to pick the truck up at 7:00 am. NO! My request was 8:00 am. when I got to Meriden, I was told that my truck was to be pick up at 7am and it had to be back by 1 PM, so not only did my location get changed my time got altered and the 1 PM return did not work for us, so my boss told me to return the truck and forget it. We are not happy, so I immediately went to Penske.

I was originally scheduled to pick up a UHaul trailer at the Meriden location on Saturday, July 15th at 4 pm. When I arrived at 4:30 pm I was told that the person who was returning the trailer to that location never arrived. I was extremely upset that no one called me to tell me that the trailer was note there. It was a wasted trip and ultimately I had to come back the next day - my out of state move was post poned 1 day and I had to take an unplanned day off from work.

this isn't based upon the location but Uhaul in general. When someone makes a reservation, they shouldn't have to drive all over the state to find what they need. We have rented 2 6X12's this year. Both have been quick trips. We'd planned to pick up the trailers in specific places. But that couldn't be accommodated. Both times we had to drive an hour out of our way to pick up said trailer. If a person wants to pick up in waterbury, U haul should be able to drop a trailer there, not send them to meriden or as last trip they wanted us to go to stanford, some two + hours round trip out of our way. Had we stayed with our orgional order of a 5 X 8 trailer, I would've spent my morning driving to get the trailer, instead of packing it like I was supposed to so we could be on the road late that night

Upon inquiry into 24 hour truck rental was told that if truck was brought back before closing the next day there would not be a charge for an additional day. Truck was returned an hour and a half beyond the 24 hour period but prior to closing. I was charged for an additional day as well as an additional day of safe drive insurance. This was extremely disappointing and I felt misled. Had I not been told there wouldn't be additional charges I would have had the truck back within the twenty four hour time frame.

Donnie (sp?) was a great help getting this rental out the door - credit to her. Appreciate newer tires on the truck. That has not always been the experience with past Haul rentals in other states. Steering was vague with partial load. I wish the side mirrors on the 15' truck would have had more adjustment options. Should be more clear on website that mileage rates differ on weekends.

From my experience, everything went very smoothly. My truck was available when it was suppose to be and check in afterwards went well also. The cashier was friendly too which is a definate plus!!!!
