This location is listed as a pet resort. It is dirty, smelly and full of junk (old desks and furniture sitting outside). Dogs barked continually. The location had tinted windows and looked so very sketchy. While the man was nice, I didn’t feel he was honest about the pet resort when I asked pet related questions. It is also listed as a pet groomer and the one dog that we saw outside in a pen looked like she had never been groomed. This place is so very sketchy!!!

I had a most unpleasant experience when I turned in the truck I rented from U-haul. When I returned the truck, I also returned some rented U-haul padded blankets. I also returned extra blankets that my daughter had bought from U-haul when she was sewing cage liners for her pet guinea pigs. The employee that handled my turn-in told me that U-haul does not sell their proprietary blankets and that they could not be bought. I said that I remembered her buying them and he insisted that any blankets that I had could only be stolen since he adamantly maintained that U-haul didn’t sell them. The ones I rented from U-haul had a stamped “Property of U-haul” all over them. The excess blankets that my daughter no longer needed were unmarked. I was just turning them in because we no longer needed them and I was donating them to help out the next renter. I told him he was wrong about being able to buy the blankets and he became angry and asked if I wanted him to call the cops right now. I said go ahead because I knew I had done nothing wrong and he pulled out his phone and started dialing. I couldn’t believe he was actually doing it and called my daughter and told her to tell him where she bought the blankets and handed your employee the phone. She asked him if he was accusing her of something and he seemed to back off a little from what I felt was anger and hostility caused by his not knowing that your company sold a product as well as rented them. I couldn’t believe it was happening. When my wife arrive to pick me up, he handed me back the “stolen” unmarked blankets as we were about to drive off. I was so busy from unloading the truck and moving my daughter and her stuff into our house that I didn’t have a chance to show him exactly where she bought them. I stopped by 3 times over the next week but he was out of the office so it was a week before I talked to him again. I showed him (on an iPad) a YouTube video from a Guinea Pig enthusiast website where they said to buy the blanket material from U-haul as it is perfect for the application. Then I showed him the U-haul dealership that she bought it from who verified that they sell it when I called. He seemed friendly and said something like, “Well what do you know? I didn’t know that.” I told him that it bothered me that he was calling the police on me for nothing and he denied doing it. I said that he asked if if I wanted him to call the cops and when I said “Go ahead,” he started dialing. He then said he was calling his boss and not the police but if that was the case, he wanted me to think he was calling the police. Then he asked me , “What is it you want from me?” and I said, “How about just a simple apology for threatening me with the police for nothing?” He repeated that he didn’t call the police but was dialing his boss and would not apologize. Then he said, “We’re done here,” and went back inside his locked office. Overall, I like the U-haul and your brand of service and will use you again in the futur

Office needs cleaning bad. The office is in an old grooming building has a lot of pet odors. Also trying to hitch up to a 6x12 box trailer is a nightmare. Trailer has no jack and it takes 2 people to lift and hitch up if it never lines up. You are going to have people hurt their backs.

Grado:

Not the nicest facility but efficient and everything was fast and easy to rent a trailer. The whole process was easy and needed. No hassle or surprises.

Ernie N.
Grado:

the trailer should have a jack attached. Extremely heavy to mount

Owner refused to give me the outgoing odometer he posted. Owner would not sell me the collision waver. I could buy safetrip or nothing. Owner did not give me a copy of the contract, only the envelope that usually contains the contract.

More issues with the website being I placed an order for packing items and they were not available at the pickup location even though the website said I could.

The truck was clean and worked great. However, the office was foul. The odor of cat urine was overwhelming. I uncomfortably breathed through my mouth during the transaction, but even then the smell burned the back of my throat. I felt like I was in one of those creepy TV shows which was a cross between the cat lady's apartment and a hoarder's house!!

Its overcrowded and moving around in the drop off area is ridiculous. They need less trailers so you can actually drive through the parking area.

No problems with the Truck Rental - got the job done. I have been dealing with the U-Haul Store/Self Storage on Alcoa Hwy. I went to Fur Paws due to location being much closer. I stopped in to check on Truck availability and see if they had any boxes for sale. The manager told me yes they are $2.00/Small Box, I said I'll take 12, he took my payment via Credit Card and then went to the back room and emerged with 12 "Used U Haul Small Boxes." I said do you buy back used boxes, thinking I would have an outlet for the 50-60 boxes I had used. he said no but I'll be glad to have you dispose of your boxes here. When I returned home I checked out what I had paid at the U-Haul Store on Alcoa Hwy - to my chagrin, I had paid twice the price for the used boxes versus the new boxes from the U-Haul Store. When I ended up needing additional boxes I drove the extra distance to the Alcoa Hwy U-Haul Store for new boxes at half the price. I don't begrudge anyone making a buck and recycling the boxes makes for good conservation - but twice the price for used boxes is a bit much.
