I understand that mistakes may happen (in this case pick up location charged me for two days but allowed only one day on the contract). However good businesses would resolve such issues between themselves instead of pointing fingers to each other and requiring customer to seek for resolution at UHaul corporate support. The issue is still unresolved as of now.

They gave us the wrong vehicle. We received a 10 ft truck but the paperwork was for another vehicle with fuel reading, mileage, plate numbers. I had to after I reached My destination I realized issue and had to call the U-Haul 800 customer services

Staff appeared to think they were doing me a favor by renting the truck. Very disinterested in my needs. Gave me the wrong dolly and didn't have the one I reserved. Didn't mention quirks of the truck like the gimpy parking break and tow release on the shifter. Didn't mention the huge markup for fuel. $28.00 for what could not have been 3 gallons. Very dissatisfied with this location.

Counter person lied about the amount of gas in vehicle and was charged $30.00 for gas only driving < 5 miles. I'm calling BS! Also the movers set-up to help didn't show up, which was pre paid $255.55, WTF has happen to U-haul now to have to cheat & recommend fraudulent SubContractors & vendors.

Our contract was to return truck at US Good & Gas on Alhambra Ave in Martinez. We tried to return the truck there and they refused it saying their computer was down. Told us we'd have to drop it off at Pacheco Mini Storage. This was a huge inconvenience as we were on a very tight schedule! When we dropped it off at Pacheco Mini Storage they were very upset and said this has been happening frequently. She called right away to the 1st place to complain to them. He told her "oh, the computer was back up and running". This was obviously a ruse and he just didn't want the big truck! It reflects very badly on UHaul and there should be some repercussion on the US Gas & Food.

This is a slimy business purveyor. It is an affiliate with a dilapidated storage center. The staff are unfriendly and make you feel as though you are bothering them for service. They do not seem to care about providing a clean vehicle and ensuring all safety items are functional and intact. There is no apparent ability to deal with a vehicle which comes from a different country (Canada) and in which the U-Haul system doesn't automatically adjust for Kilometers versus Miles. It was clearly a Bait-and-Switch which required multiple phone calls and a lot of frustration and angst over the potential excess travel charges. This facility did little to try to correct the problem or ensure our satisfaction.

The site closes and locks at 5 pm and so you can't return after hours (I made an on-line rental agreement for 4-6 pm Friday, then got a phone call to say if I picked it up at 4pm, as reserved, I'd have to return it at exactly 9:00 am the next morning, because someone else had it reserved and there is no evening return option. This was a major inconvenience. Also, the young woman at the desk when I arrived had a terrible attitude. She was sullen, snide, and rude from the moment I opened the door. Yikes. Finally, the truck was dirty. The windshield was so badly smeared with something that when the sun shone it was completely blinding. Met my basic needs and was convenient to where I live, but not a pleasant experience.

We had some trouble opening the gas cap. Last customer must have closed cap and wrapped wire around the underside of the cap. I might suggest checking cap. Took us about 10 mins to unscrew it.



The operator confirmed that I could have the u haul for 5 hours and when I rented it at the location it was only reserved for 2 hours. 2 hours to move?!?! What a joke. Then the location said it had already booked the truck after my return time. Didn’t offer any alternatives to help. TERRIBLE SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND! If you guys care about these reviews and your customer service, I would like someone to contact me so I can speak to a live human being to really express the absolute Disguist and dissatisfaction I had with my experience. I am truly disappointed for being given false promises and horrendous customer service for NOT trying to help me with my problem. What to screw me over. This caused me more headaches when your service is supposed to ease stress not cause more. Oh and the person who helped me at this location when I picked up the truck had such a flat affect (Google the definition) when I told her I was promised the truck for 5 hours not 2. You would think someone who really cared about their job; the reputation of their job; or someone who had a heart, would try to “problem solve” and help the customer when they have been mislead or been flat out lied to. I think it’s called good customer service, but I guess NOT to these individuals. It’s just so disheartening to think these people could act like this and live their life guilt free, it makes you lose hope in humanity. I apologize to whoever reads this, my anger and disguist isn’t directed at you, but for the people that don’t realize how much pain, anguish, and burden they have put me and my family through. I truly hope whoever reads this can empathize with my experience. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and enjoy your day.
