The owner just happened to be there when I arrived to drop off (an hour after they closed) and was very helpful and polite. I felt kind of bad because I think I caught him just as he was leaving. A very nice man.

I don’t know if it were the color of our skin or if we are young but Keith and his manger were very rude from the beginning. The store front was filthy and smelled like motor oil. I’ve never seen such a dirty uhaul store front before. The only reason we knew it was a uhaul because of the trucks but the tiny store looked really run down. My young nephew went down with a debt prepaid card to rent the truck for a couple of days. His parents were at a funeral out of town. Keith and his manger told him him money was no good. I came to try to help. I was asked if there was even ant money On my card. I was then told there would be a possible $200 authorizations charge along with the payment. It was early afternoon and I tried to pay with a credit card. My try decline. I called my bank right there in front of Keith and they said once my payment hardppst try again the next day. I gave Keith my bank debit card and he made mention of how the truck better be clean and we better not leave the state with it. I told him sir it won’t leave the state. My nephew found out there was another family tragedy so let me know that he couldn’t return the truck that next morning like Kieth told him he better do. I called Keith communicated this and gave him my credit card for further payment because I knew my husbands check would not be in the account for at least a week. I have been checking both my bank account and credit account daily waiting on the charges. Keith said he he has the owner didn’t know how to change from one payment to a different payment until the truck returns. I called again the next day and let Keith know my sister was back in town and would be helping her so. With returning the truck Keith said okay and he knew this would happen. I apologized and let him know they would return the truck as soon as possible. My sister let me know her husband would return the truck in the morning and I told Keith and reminded him the funds on my credit were available and to charge my credit card because my bank would not let him until my husbands check clears the account. He was rude about it. The next morning he was calling repeatedly saying drove to my home and didn’t see his truck and asked if his truck was in Colorado. I explained to him my sister was moving out my home and should be on her way to him with it. He said my nephew stop answering his calls and had hung up on him so he was going to keep calling me. Keith said he had a graduation to go to and put his keys in the drop box and that the truck better be clean or he will charge me for damages and cleaning. He said he got his truck back from others with kitty litter in it. I apologized sincerely. The truck was returned that day May 19. I have had pending charges in my account ever since. The charges disappeared yesterday. My bank couldn’t explain what happen. I get a email today asking about a survey of my experience. I check both my accounts and Keith went a head a charged my bank account away. I’m not upset

Online choice was a mistake. I had to wait an hour for my truck in which at tjat time I lost an hour of help and time to move. I had to pay for the whole amount which I'm not happy about. The Gentlemen at this location was great and helpful without him I wouldn't have been able to move my family.

Don't tell the customer when they walk in to pick up their reserved uhaul truck that the customer SCREWED them out of a bigger money deal!!! Then call the customer at 0830 in the morning yelling at them after waking them up that they parked in the wrong spot when all the customer did was park in a parking spot next to another vehicle

Southside Auto Sales is an excellent location to rent a U-Haul from! We were re-directed after the original location we made the reservation at did not have a U-Haul available. Southside Auto Sales had clean trucks and is located next to a gas station so made filling up before returning the truck a breeze. I would recommend this location to a friend!

The gas tank was at 5/16, which was not enough for me to go the 85-90 miles that was my predetermined mileage. That caused me to have to find a gas station twice (once to allow me to return and a second that allowed me to return the fuel gauge to exactly where it was prior). My personal thought is, fill the damn tank up all the way so U haul clients don't have to worry about if they will make it to their destination or not--especially when the client denotes how many miles they anticipate using before I even picked the truck up in the first place (i think i was off by less then 10 miles). Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to get that off my chest, quite irritating!

So while I would recommend this place it's only because the other UHaul location I've used in town, the one on 3rd St, was absolutely terrible. The person running the desk at this location was alright at first but he struggled to find the phone number on my insurance card and when I grabbed the card to show him where it was he was obviously miffed. Beyond that, he was slow as molasses. He typed with two fingers hunt and peck style and it made everything take way longer than it needed to. I'm glad I put in some of my info online beforehand cause otherwise it would have taken even longer. So really my complaint is about the guy running it. When I asked where I could park my vehicle while I used the van he didn't have a good answer. According to him, I for sure couldn't park it in his lot, even though there were spaces available. He said I could park it on the street or at the multistorey parking garage a couple blocks away and walk back. Neither of these options would have been a big deal, though the parking garage was quite a ways away, except it was raining and there were MASSIVE puddles between where I had to park and the lot where the van was. I parked on the street nearby and I had to jump 3-4 feet over a huge puddle to not get my shoes soaked. I was very upset that there wasn't some sort of solution and had I been an older person I would not have had anywhere I could park and not get totally soaked. So, they need to find a solution to this as what happened was unacceptable. The vehicle itself was great except for smelling like wet dog when we got in. We rolled down the windows and ran the fans and that cleared up. Otherwise, the van was tops and way nicer than anything I've rented from U-Haul before. I'd definitely rent a van like that again. So overall, not a bad experience I guess when I compare it to the nightmare that has been previous UHaul interactions. I get that it's hard in an industry with as thin of margins as UHaul to expect any modicum of customer service but this place could do better.

Although I had no trouble locating the site and the personnel was very helpful in putting the uhaul on my vehicle I was surprised that we did not do a walk around or look inside. There was damage to the outside and I didn't notice till I had parked the trailer.

My first experience with reserving a Uhaul truck was awful. I filed a complaint and STILL never heard back from anyone. Even the person that created my complaint was awful. I swore off using UHaul ever again. But being desperate I called Southside Auto Sales. After several attempts of calling and talking to at least two different individuals, playing phone tag, and the UHaul "system" being "down", they were able to reserve a UHaul for me and made the experience very enjoyable and were EXTREMELY accommodating. Would I reccommend UHaul? No. But I recommend these gentlemen at Southside Auto Sales.

We tried the self pick up with the app and it didn't work. The app just kept circling back to the "Your reservation is already a self pick up", then I would hit "continue" and it would take me back to the home page. Very frustrating. I would NEVER recommend the self pick up.

The proprietor was very thorough - almost to the point of insulting. The facility was filthy - the truck was fine though.
