I had online reservation (26226131) for 26ft truck from Lucedale, MS to Hattiesburg, MS for 1 AUG. I had requested the truck, 2 furniture dollies, one appliance dolly and 50 furniture pads. I call Southern Storage on 31 July to verify that they had everything and Melissa told me they did. When I got to Southern Storage pickup location on 1 AUG there was no one there to assist in office. I called Melissa, she told me to go to the back of the truck and to unlock it and that keys were in back of truck. The lock would not work with the multiple different combos she told me to try. Finally she said try a different truck and I was able to get it, but the truck only. None of the other stuff I requested was available. I was charged for the full amount of 268.65 that included the dollies and pads, even though I didn't get them. I need a refund for the amount I was charged for dollies and Pads on reservation no 26226131. Since I didn't have dollies or pads to use, I went to the other U-Haul location in Lucedale and did an equipment rental. Reservation no. (94664027) for 1 appliance dolly and 60 pads, I paid $66.34 for this equipment. Please call me at 662-640-1845 for more information or refund my money ASAP. Thanks

Hey everyone, I have been keeping quiet in hopes that U-Haul would do the right thing but they are not so I’m going to let everyone know what kind of company this is and how they treat their customers! It started when we went to book the truck in Lucedale Mississippi. We told the gentleman that we needed a truck and a tow to be able to tow my Hyundai Tucson. I asked for a flat bed tow and he said it wasn’t needed. He asked if my car was a front wheel, back wheel, all wheel or 4 wheel drive suv. I explained I didn’t know so he put in front wheel. After all the paperwork was filled out he looked up my suv to see what kind of drive it was and he said it actually was an all wheel drive with ability to put it in 4 wheel drive. He tried to change the paperwork and was not able too. A few days later we picked up the U-Haul truck and tow dolly. After the truck was packed we went to put the car on and found that the part on the dolly that tightens the straps on the tires, known as the ratchets, were rusted so bad we were not able to tighten the straps ourselves. U-Haul sent someone to help. The person sent was able to get the car on and tightened. Soon after we left for our trip to NY we had to stop because something didn’t feel right. Sure enough the straps loosened. Ok so I tighten them and get back on my way. After a half hour it happens again, and again and again. Then in Alabama one side let lose and I couldn’t tighten it again. U-Haul sends us to another U-Haul to switch out the trailer. Ok now we get another trailer and they still say I do not need the flat bed. The person who hooked up the trailer was only on the job 2 weeks and it seemed like my car was not fitting right. But they said no it was good. At this place they fixed the paperwork and corrected that the car was an all wheel with 4wheel drive option. I asked if there was anything I needed to know to get back safely and would I need to keep checking the straps or anything and they said no it’s all set I should have no issues so off I go again. As I was driving I was still having the problem of the straps loosening so I stopped every hour to tighten them. One of my stops was in Virginia. I tighten the straps and I start to go to get back on my way and I hear a loud boom, almost like a tire popping. I stop to look and find my tires on my truck are completely locked up. These are my back tires on the ground that roll as I drive and they will not roll. Here I am stuck in Virginia with a new born and 6 year old and animals and we can’t drive anywhere and my car is broken. U-Haul was nice enough to put us in a hotel that night that was right there and they had me figure out how to get my car off the tow dolly when my wheels would not roll and then I had to drive a half hour away in their truck in the opposite direction to get a flat bed tow finally. Once I was able to get my car on the flatbed tow we began our last leg of the trip to NY with me still needing to stop to tighten the

Tell the truth about rental pick up and especially about drop off locations. Employees need training desperately. Very poor experience.

Would have been nice to know that the location didn’t open until 8:30 on Saturday. I reserved the truck for an earlier pick up and when I arrived at scheduled time no one was there. Not only that but the employee who handled the reservation was also about 8:40 arriving. Other than that, everything was fine

The moving companies I hired have cost me more money than what this move did! A curio cabinet had the mirror shattered, a chaise couch got ripped, a dresser got a drawer ripped off of it, my grandmothers leather ottoman has a tear in it and my washing machine no longer works! Will never use them again!
