Absolutely the worst managed U-Haul location I have ever picked up from. Poor/no service, unaccomodating, 2 hrs late to get me my truck and forced to only rent for half my slotted time. My only advice for the next customer is to run for the hills.

Maria, the store manager was great and the truck was fine. The location is in an iffy part of town with only street parking for customers. The surrounding alleys are filthy.

Upon my arrival I was informed that my pickup location had changed and I was at the wrong location. An attempt was made to inform me of the change that morning. Staff handled problem with ease and professionalism at accepting me at their location. Upon returning vehicle I was informed my deposit was missing and so I spent 40 min watching the employee count and recount her register. She had enough to pay me my $37 but was insistant on having me wait while she called, text, and waited for a response from her fellow employees. Finally, come to find out the deposit was in the drawer and that she was just miscounting the whole time 40mins. I remained seated and patient throughout.

Edward at this location was excellent. He went above and beyond in his customer service. He answered all my questions and concerns and called to follow up on my reservation and ask if I had questions. I work in the airline industry where customer service is number one. Edward truly impressed me with his customer service skill. Great Job!!

This review is more about U-Haul and not the location at 1430 E Anaheim Street. 1) I had to wait over an hour to take possession of my cargo van because one was not available at my pickup time. 2) I was charged for CDW that I never requested or agreed to because the individual making my reservation noted in my reservation that I was getting CDW. At no time during my reservation call was CDW discussed. Because I was already running so late due to the cargo van not being available at my pickup time, I initial the CDW on the agreement because I could wait any longer for the paperwork to be redone. 3) I was told by the individual making the reservation that I only had four (4) hours to use the cargo van even though $19.95 rate is for 24 hours. I consider 2) and 3) to be a knowing misrepresentation of services and fraudulent acts.

Don't ask the customer to sign forms pertaining to the condition the rented vehicle without actually viewing the vehicle at the time. The gas was off by 1/4 tank. I snapped a pic of the dashboard just prior to driving off . If I hadn't done that they would've branded me a liar. When I went to close the drivers door behind me in preparation to drive after finding my own way through parking lot to the vehicle ALONE, the door handle feel completely off and into my hand! The I blindly signed documents that said the was in perfect condition! My bad for going against my gut feeling choosing NOT speak up as to not appear like a troublemaker. HIS BAD for being so unprofessional. Needless to say the mileage was also wrong and when I told him I was that i certain I hadn't traveled that much he claimed that there was no way they be wrong because "they document everything". He insisted that I sign the bill and I told him that I would be disputing $6 of the total through my credit card. I assured him that it was not a personal attack on him or his business but that I strongly felt a mistake had happened on their part but he starting accusing me saying things I had never said. Basically, the whole ordeal was far too unpleasant and so very unnecessary. They refunded me $6 on the condition that I never patronize their location again. As if I'd ever WANT to. Can you say "customer service is so old-fashioned"? Don't go there. Save yourself the added misery to the already stressful ordeal of moving.
