I used the truck for a total of about 45 min. I think that if you pay for 4 hours and you return it early, you should get a chunk of the $40 you spent back. I would use it all the time if it worked that way.

I had a very bad experience with the north 48th store. The manager is very abrasive. Due to an error on another employees mistake my billing was incorrect. The manager at north 48th street had me leave the location to fix the companies error and would not work with me to resolve my situation. Which put me in an awkward position because I am from out of state and had no place to go back to. To my surprise the people at the store down on SOUTH 48th street went above and beyond to fix my issue. The district manager, took me back to north 48th street and helped me retrieve my vehicle then took me back to SOUTH 48th street and the manager at SOUTH 48th fixed my billing issue, then to top it all off the district manager took me to the highway and showed me how to get where I was going. That is what I call 5 STAR customer service! I honestly believe that if there was a Golden U-haul Customer service award it should go to; 1)The young lady working the counter that day who called her manager and district manager when she realized that a customer was stuck and had issues, and not telling me to go somewhere else. 2)The manager for driving in to work to help resolve the issue. 3)The district manager for implementing and resolving the issue and physically loading and attaching the equipment and safely escorting me to my destination.

We dropped the U-Haul off two days early and was told by the owner that we didn't need to sign any paperwork. Then I get a call from the U-Haul customer service saying that they never received the U-Haul trailer we had dropped off. Over a week period, I got three different calls telling me they couldn't find it and we would be charged for extra days. I was completely stressed out because we no longer had the trailer and I had no idea what this owner did with it. In the end, we were finally told the trailer was found. This was our first time using U-Haul and probably our last due to this experience. The return process is very unorganized. We never even received a call that the trailer was found, I had to call in for the third time and tell them I didn't know what had happened to the trailer and THEN was notified that they had indeed found it. This was a very stressful, disappointing experience... the last thing I needed to deal with after our 24 hour move across the country.

The inside of the truck box was dirty and needed to put blankets down so my items would not get dirty. Rubber trim was coming loose on the floor around the gas and brake pedals. This was not a very safe situation. Gas gauge showed full, but it really wasn't. Drove from Lincoln to Columbus empty and needed 16.5 gallons to fill it up. Returned to Lincoln loaded, filled up again in Lincoln and used 8.9 gallons. Please make a better effort to make sure the trucks are actually full, not just appear full. I estimate the truck was about 7 gallons short. Thanks Bruce Hadwiger

An improvement would be to have a dedicated staff person for the Uhaul rentals during peak rental weeks, since transactions are interrupted and prolonged by gas station customers..

My booking was made to pick up at N 48th. My paperwork said N 48th location. They sent me to S. 48th to pick up. This is a convenience store with one staff person who is too busy with their regular business to help Uhaul customers. I did express online check in and the process to pick up and leave took 90 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable.
