I had to replace a bolt that was missing from the right front tiedown. I took pics if your interested. Found it as I was tightening front strap.
Did not have blankets we ordered so had to go to another place
This location was very difficult to find, as it is on a dirt/gravel road directly off of new circle. However, the people working there were able to get us our truck without a problem. There were a bunch of furniture pads left in our truck that we did not include in our order, but were useful.
Only one person there and she had other things she had to do. Tack welds connecting the square knob to the hitch bolt were broken. I had to use a 1" socket to tighten the hitch.
We reserved a truck--paid deposit--then NO TRUCK. No offer to discount, no offer to get truck from other location--just "sorry, we don't have any trucks" When I contacted UHaul via chat, the person/bot responded "it's a busy time of year" which I understand except I MADE A RESERVATION and PAID a DEPOSIT. The chat/bot person said, "youve received your deposit" as if that makes it any better--of course our deposit was returned, because UHaul didn't have a truck. Furthermore, we already had people waiting to help us and planned to move our things THAT DAY. Very frustrating and exceptionally bad customer service.
Hard to get to, nowhere near where I needed to load the Uhaul and my customer service agent said it was the closest. Upon arrival, they claimed to not have a Uhaul the size we needed. They walked the lot and gave us someone else's after complaining.
This review is not only for this location, but my experience with U-Haul as a whole. I had to drive across town to go to three separate locations to pick up my rental. The first place was where I originally selected to pick up my truck when placing my order. I did not receive a call or email the night before my pick up day to let me know that my location had been changed. After driving there, I was directed to another location. Upon arriving at the second location (Metro Towing Lexington, KY), I was told that someone working the day before had given my truck to someone else and they didn't have one to give me. The lady called around and found a truck matching what I had ordered at ANOTHER location across town. Finally, at CTS Towing, I was given the truck that I had ordered. Although, she had not been notified prior to our arrival because she was confused when we asked about our rental until we explained the whole situation. Finally, we were able to get our rental after driving around for an hour trying to locate ours. Due to this experience, I will never be using U-Haul again. I will recommend anyone but U-Haul to friends, family, and anyone I come in contact with because my experience was so terrible. Again, this review is not for CTS Towing specifically, but my experience with U-Haul as a whole.
The trailer did not have the electrical wires for the lights. I had to drive to the main store to get this installed. Bad location to access because of the road construction (this is not their fault).
Did not have any extra supplies. Location difficult.
The location had no visible UHaul signage and was difficult and dangerous to get into. Its location near on-ramp off a divided highway made it difficult to find and dangerous to enter and exit. Despite the very helpful woman at the desk, there was no one there to help remove or place the trailer. Won't be choosing this location again.
The people that took care of me were nice but they did not have furniture pads and admitted that they don't ever have them so I had to go to a different location to pick them up and to me that is a reason not to recommend UHaul to someone. I think I should be compensated the price of the furniture pads because I had to go out of my way to get them!!
We couldn't get our truck. We waited an hour and a half to get the truck. Then find out they didn't have the the appliance dolly nor the regular dolly I ordered ,so the lady told us. Then one of the guys found one "appliance dolly hiding" in the back. She told us she would take it off our bill for both. She did not. I was charged for a dolly. This caused me to be an hour behind on my move.
Arrived at 8:30 lady working the counter was pleasant and helpful but nobody on location to help to connect the trailer to my truck. Had to move UHaul equipment around myself to reach the trailer. The location is dirty with junk cars and parts scattered in the parking area. Upon returning again nobody to help disconnect equipment. I have experience with hooking up trailers and car hauling equipment my concern with this location and policy is the danger of allowing customers to connect trailers to personal vehicles without knowledge this is a accident waiting to happen.. I can't express the disappointment with this latest rental from UHaul.
Better signs. Thought garage guys had door locked. Just hard to open. Representatives very nice and helpful. 1-800 rep told me credit card would hold reservation for truck and could pay cash when checked truck in, but had to pay upon pick up. Little confusion with that.
Stop charging people before and after
It was a little confusing to pick up but the return more than made up for it. Uhaul tried to charge me for two days when it should only have been one. The woman who checked the trailer back in caught it and fixed it.
Staff extremely busy, phone seemed more important than the person standing in front of them, waited a minimum of 15 minutes before my needs were addressed, took a total of 30 minutes to get the truck. She was pleasant and friendly when she did get to me
The Lexington location was excellent but out overall experience was poor. Our trucked leaked from the rain all over our items. Also, the labor we hired through u-haul in our destination town did not show up. They had double booked. Uhaul told us to just call someone else at noon on the movie in day. We just had to move things ourselves as no one else was available. Still trying to make sure that charge is removed from my visa.
The person who helped me was kind and tried to help. However, her system was not working properly. This made me waste a lot of precious time. Which subsequently caused me to incur another day of car rental. Also, the U haul place did not have the wires to connect the trailer to the SUV lights. This experience could have been much different. Thank you
You should ask me about my actual experience. It was terrible. I know I am going to be sorting this out for weeks, even months to come.
Electrical connector from the trailer to the truck missing. CTS told me U-Haul doesn't provide those to them, so I got to drive 7 miles to the nearest U-Haul center, where they provided one and told me that anyone renting U-Haul equipment should have these on hand.
The equipment I reserved wasn't available and I wouldn't have even known if I hadn't checked myself before I left because I was told it was in the back. I also had to wait 25 minutes even though I did online me check in
