That was my first renting from u-haul at this location. Everything was smooth, really friendly costumers service. It didn't take me not even ten minutes and I was out on the road. The van was a really nice comfortable, really clean. I would recommend this location to anyone who needs a rental vehicle or rental unit from them.JORGE R.

Truck smelt bad, steering wheel was sticky. When dropped off truck after hours the key drop box was unlocked and open. U-Haul would not answer phone either store or 800 number. Decided to leave keys locked in truck as this was most logical. Called the morning they opened and no answer. Later that morning I received a call from an employee telling me I had to call a locksmith to open the truck and it was my responsibility to pay for as it was â€œ in my contract â€œ even though their lockbox on the building was open to the public and the truck would have most likely been stolen.. which would have been my responsibility at that point also. Even though truck was still locked on their property. They claim they only had one key.Thomas A.

I was disappointed that the original location I made the reservation at did not have the equipment I had reserved. When I was directed to the next location, the team was fast and courteous. They got me out of there quickly. When I went to return the equipment, same type of service. There was only 1 person working and he was running his tail off. I'm concerned about all the hidden charges. The initial costs or estimate was $19.99. When everything was charged the actual cost was over $70, including a $7 charge for dolly I didn't request. I dealt with a gentleman whose name escapes me but I believe it started with a T. He was quite helpful. I rented this truck on short notice, as another local UHaul was unable to fulfill my truck request, which was placed more than a week ago. This young man's service was solid when I arrived, as it was upon return. My issue was with the truck and the lack of equipment available. The truck had an engine light on when I received it, which I was told during the original inspection. If the light doesn't mean anything and doesn't impact the performance of the truck, cool. My issue was that I drove the truck between 40 and 45 miles and had to put 12 gallons of fuel in it to return it to the pre-trip level. There wasn't any sitting around and waiting with the truck running either. I would imagine those trucks are supposed to get more than 4 miles per gallon. The interior upholstery was falling from the ceiling as well. When I left the Waverly Road location, after being told that my original truck order was not there, I was told I'd be able to pick up the requested appliance dolley at the other location. They did not have one available. From a customer service perspective, the young man who assisted me was good...no complaints there. I'd recommend his service...not the company truck.JASON THOMAS R.
I suspect the Waverly location does more business and certainly has more staff, but I'd take this place and wait in line for half an hour to avoid the treatment I get at 901 S Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI 48917. This location is much preferred despite being less attractive. If Waverly were my only option you'd lose my business for good.William B.

UHaul definitely needs a technology upgrade. I attempted to reserve the unit online via computer, but setting up the reservation kept putting in some arbitrary pick up location. The location filters didn't work to show me which items were available at the location of choice. So then I decided to register using the phone app. This was much better and I was able to reserve the unit and pre-register for the pick up; however, when I went to pick up the unit, the clerk still went through everything and ended up selecting features I did not register for, which resulted in an increase of cost by almost double. He was unable to back them out, so he said they would refund the difference once I left and I could take the unit. It is now the next day and there is no refund. So now I have the hassle of making phone calls and getting my refund. It makes zero sense that one can reserve and pre-register through the app, yet have to go through all the check-in steps just to pick up the unit. If one registers on the phone app or online, all that should have to be done for the check-in is to show your license, pick up the contract, and be on your way.Kevin G.
