I was hoping to be able to comment on my experience with U-Haul Truck Share 24/7. I was able to provide all the information and proof of identity required during this process. My biggest frustration came at the most crucial part of the process, getting the key. No Key code was provided to me. Not through the app or in an email. The code opens the lock box holding the keys to the vehicle. The app showed that we had obtained the keys and were actually driving the vehicle, when in fact, we didn’t have the keys. We called customer service and were on infinite hold. I tried the “live chat” and the person on the other end never connected. I call the “24/7” contact number listed in the app for people who can’t access the key to the vehicle. The phone rang many times. Nobody picked up the line. A recording came on stating that the mailbox was full and I that would not be able to leave a message. My husband and I had to sit there for an hour waiting for the attendant to arrive to work. Once the attendant arrived, he couldn’t answer any of our questions concerning why the process did not work. He told us the computer shows us using the vehicle. The whole experience was frustrating. The last thing you want on a day where you have a lot of work ahead of you is to be arguing with the person you are working with. Our frustrations almost made the day a complete wash. We talked about just leaving and going to another rental company on a different day. Instead, we realized that we were at the mercy of an inept program that clearly needs more work. Ultimately, the attendant cancelled the original reservation and we ended up renting the vehicle the usual way, the paper and pen method.

The uhaul app is horrible. Very easy to click past your key code and then No back button or way to call for support. Plus lots of unnecessary verification. NSA level security to pickup a truck. Disturbed contact to make sure I put them down as a contact. Why is that necessary?

Bill and assistant Jamal provided EXCELLENT service to us, even working hard on Sunday to correct a defect caused by the prior U-Haul center that installed the hitch. Very personable. We had to purchase a new part from a center in Taunton. MA. The staff member at that facility was also very helpful.

First I had to drive two hours out of my way to pick up a trailer that was supposed to be 10 minutes away. When I finally get to the location to pick up my trailer, it took over an hour to finally drive off with it. All the time I spent filling out the on line forms to expedite the retrieval of the trailer were a waste. The employee had to do all the paperwork from scratch. Then when the paperwork was finally done, we had to drive to the farthest section of the relatively empty lot to hook up the trailer. The employee had to find parts from other trailers to finally get it connected. Then the lights didn't work right so another 20 minutes was spent troubleshooting the lights. You would have thought this rental was a huge surprise to them. Why not prep and troubleshoot the trailer first considering I spoke to the company rep about having to drive two hours out of my way to pick this thing up? In any case I lost and wasted a half a day on this boondoggle to pick up the trailer.

Internal processing very slow and truck gas should be full at pick/up and returned full. Customers do not receive the full value of their rental time because of the slow processing time at pickup.

I was overcharged for the milage. We drove a total of 7.8 miles, let's say 8-9 to be safe. We live .8 miles away from the storage facility. We were charged double what was estimated, and it showed us driving 64 miles! I'm blown away!
