Rated three stars because there was nothing wrong with Jason's Agri-Motive but I had a terrible experience with every other part of dealing with Uhaul. I had rented a Uhaul truck to move from Regina, where I was living, to Saskatoon, 2.5 hours north of Regina. I had the truck rented from Saturday morning to Monday morning. I got a call from Uhaul on Thursday saying there was no trucks available in Regina (even though I reserved a truck for pickup in Regina over three weeks ago) and the closest truck was in Lafleche, which was 2 hours southwest of Regina. I had to drive 2 hours in my own car using my own fuel from Regina to Lafleche on Saturday morning and then drive the rental truck 2 hours back to Regina before I could even start my move. I thought I had a truck reserved for pickup in Regina and only found out two days in advance the truck I reserved was actually two hours away, leaving me no time to make other arrangements. What is the point of having a reservation system if they can't guarantee a vehicle at least in your city of choice? Regina was my preferred pick up location, but it was also my required/mandatory/selected pick up location. If there were no trucks in Regina when I made my reservation, Uhaul should have told me that at the start so I could have made other plans. Or at least give me more than two days notice. The pickup (and drop off because I booked a one way return rental) in Lafleche added at least 5-6 hours to my move. As a result, I drove more kilometres than I was planning to and that was allowed in my contract. I was planning to drive from Regina to Saskatoon and back to Regina. Instead I had to drive from Regina to Lafleche to Regina to Saskatoon to Lafleche. Since this longer trip (which was in no way my choice or fault, and I had no control over the change in pickup location) was longer than the mileage allotted to me in my contract, Uhaul charged ME for the extra kilometres driven because THEY changed my pickup location and added at least 500 kilometres to my trip. They made my trip much more inconvenient and then charged me for it. When I checked out I said I disagree with these charges, and a Uhaul representative was supposed to call me to sort it out. Nobody called me, and Uhaul just charged my credit card for the extra mileage anyway. This was without a doubt the worst moving experience I have ever had. Uhaul deceived me and took advantage of me and my situation. I had no time to make alternative arrangements and was forced to accept the pickup in Lafleche. They literally lied to my face when I was making my reservation just because they wanted my business, and knew I would never accept a pickup in Lafleche if they told me that's where my reserved truck was. Uhaul made absolutely no attempt to make my move more convenient in any way, and had blatant disregard for my situation. The customer NEEDS to pick up the rental at the pick up location they select. If Uhaul can't guarantee a pickup location there, they don't offer that as a "preferred pick up location". That is just a guise so Uhaul can secure more business and profit, while making their customer's lives much more difficult in the process. I am never doing any business with Uhaul ever again, and I will tell everyone I know about my experience in the hopes that they can avoid something similar happening to them in the future. Uhaul has lost my business, and hopefully the future business of everyone I know and speak to about my experience. Uhaul needs to take care of their customers better, or they will (and should) lose them to other companies. What can Uhaul do to improve for the next customer? -GUARANTEE that they can pick up and drop off their rentals at their preferred pick up/drop off locations. That is literally it. I cannot overstate how important that is when someone is moving -Provide customer service to their customers when things go wrong (such as what happened to me)(advance notice of change in pick up/drop off locations, waiving mileage overage fees in such situations, etc). That is how you build customer loyalty, which is important for a company like Uhaul. Even if/when things go wrong, the company attempts to make things better for the customer. I received no such treatment at Uhaul, and as a result I will never do business with them again.

Excellent service. The experience here was a total 360 difference from the pick up location.
I spent over an hour and a half trying to pick this up. Guy at the desk had no idea what was going on and basically told me I had to do a couple steps on my own to get my equipment. I would recommend some training.
This location is in the middle of now where. We were supposed to have a 15 foot truck for pick up in Moose Jaw, had to drive all the way to Lafleche. Waste of fuel in my car (3 extra hours of travel), not to mention my time, so we got packing late. We didn't even get the truck we reserved weeks in advance, so we couldn't pick up our gazebo in Regina as planned. Now we have to borrow a truck and make a trip out to Regina to get it. Not only another inconvenience but another expense we should not have incurred as we did with fuel in my car and the u-haul. After reading other reviews online after this experience, I should not have been surprised, the online comments about u-haul where not good.
Less than 24hrs before my reserved pick up my pick up location was changed from a one hour drive to a 4+hour drive distance. I tried to pay a reservation fee that avoid this. And the original booking location still had a trailer available, it was just a bit bigger. For the same price. I tried to pay for my rental before hand and was told I can pay in cash when I get it. This all changed when the reservation changed because it was a long weekend, even though the long weekend was discussed and I was assured it wasn't a problem. I was told I had to use a credit card, but my cards were packed up for moving. This was a needless headache and to expect someone to drive 4 times the distance for a rental is insane. An hour drive was far as it was. I will be borrowing trailers from friends and family from now on. This was not convenient, it was stressful.
They were closed on sundays so it didn't matter that we returned the truck Saturday night.
I booked a 15 ft truck in Moose Jaw. I was call 4 days before my pick up day, and was told they didn't have a truck for me in town. I would need to drive over an hour to get a different truck. Kevin upgraded me to a 17 ft truck, and gave me 60 dollar credit to help pay for the gas. I was also give 24 hours extra, in order to pick the truck up. The day before I was to pick up the truck, I was called and told that the truck I was getting from out of town had problems, therefore I would need to drive even further to get the new truck. I was downgraded back to a 15 ft, and was not reimbursed any extra gas money for the extra time. Overall, it made my move even more stressful, to have to plan 3 hours the day before to get a vehicle, and having the company change plans twice. I don't understand why reservations are made at a site, if the vehicle is not going to be there. I would never recommend this company to anybody.
