the first location where i was supposed to pick up said they had a trailer i reserved it . got there 10 mins to close to find out it needed repair . i had to go out of my way over an hour over all to get one from fort henry location . fort henry staff was nice enough to stay late . not hsppy about loosing so much time and fuel after uhauls mess up . and Kingston store was NOT apologetic what do ever.

We had a little problem with the change in location pick up and the time it was going to open. We signed up for the 24/7 pick up but when we arrived it wasn’t available for that vehicle. Fortunately the operator noticed us waiting outside and helped us out opening up early to get us rolling.

I was suppose to meet the man in charge at 8. He was not there. The doors were locked. It took a 1 1/2 he to get it finished on my phone and codes never worked. I never got a trolley . I was a hour and 1 1/2 hrs late. Very disappointed.

I ordered a cargo van with a hitch from the U-Haul Princess St. location in Kingston on Thursday morning for use on Friday evening/Saturday morning to pull a trailer of canoes. I called the Princess Outlet on Friday morning at 9:08 to verify that the cargo van had a hitch. Unknown to me, the call was transferred to a U-Haul customer service agency. A women answered immediately and said that the cargo vans have hitches, but not balls. I replied, "That was fine as I have a ball". When my husband arrived at the Princess St. U-Haul outlet on Friday evening, The outlet employee said, "Sorry there are no hitches on the cargo vans". When my husband insisted that they provide him with a truck with a hitch as that is what had been reserved, they went to the trouble to locate one at the Fort Henry outlet location. He then proceeded to deal with the new location for billing purposes. The vehicle turned out to be a large 15 foot cube van rather than a sleek utility cargo van. My husband returned to the club with the cube van and bill for rental and mileage that was twice the original cost of the cargo van rental!! Our club is a small not-for-profit which mainly serves children, we can not afford this additional unforeseen expense, just because the call centre employee was inadequately informed and provided us with misinformation. We, and our Board of Directors, agree that we are entitled to a refund based on the misinformation that we received from U-Haul customer service. The phone call in which the customer service agent provided us with misinformation was recorded, so it should be on file at the U-Haul Customer Service Centre.

The gentleman was rude, gruff... and clearly racist; plus borderline sexist... how do i know all this? Simple conversation while checking in/out this man should just not speak to U-Haul clients as he destroys the reputation. In addition; i was denied the $50 refund for the "u-haul guaranteed booking". My 'guaranteed' reservation showed the time for pick that i scheduled... but received a call not 2hrs prior to pick ip time saying that my truck is not available??? Then i kindly push back MY move to 1pm... and his reasoning for no refund "I have no control over it, if he has the truck past the time... he has the truck, simple as that. Feel free to contact u-haul little girl if you don't like it". I am a petite 31 year old woman, no child. However; this man clearly past the age of 60, calls me "little girl". Sickening behaviour, even more sickening experience overall from the last minute shift from 9am to 1pm ... which causdd me the need to rent the truck for an additional day because i had ppl ready to move for 9am and unable to stay past 6pm. This sickening experience contonued right through the final billing that day where he charged me out my for two days rental at 39.99 + mileage at $.59 p/km ($87.01) plus 2 days insurance at $30 ... add HST @ 13%. Not one ounce of care for the extra cost he caused ... nor the $50 refund i should have as my guaranteed reserved time NEVER took place (9am). All this the same moving day as the Queen's University students/St.Lawrence College students. Had difficulty getting a booking in the first place due to this!!!! Absolutely DO NOT USE this provider - only use the u-haul corporate location in Kingston for best results. - highly irritated client.

When we arrived there was no key left for our vehicle. It took 45 minutes to finally sort it out when someone showed up and unlocked the door to the motel to give us our key. This was incredibly frustrating. However, the overall experience was good, and drop-off was pretty easy even after hours. The location is kind of far out of town which annoyingly adds to the KMs used. I'm just happy that there was an option to p/u after hours on a long weekend / holiday so that makes up for the inconveniences.

Attended was overwhelmed by the computer system as well as dealing with the customers. took an 1hr 20 minutes for myself to check out, the gentleman ahead of me said he had been there for an 1hr 40 minutes by the time his transaction have been completed. Attendant had to call in for support 4 times between our two transactions.
