My experience was good but at the same time surprising due to my total. I rented the same size truck within the last 3 years to aid in a similar move but yet with twice the distance if not more and remember paying half the cost ! I'm not sure if the pricing changed in that time or what happened, but when they told me the total, I was just shocked...but still needed the truck to make the move possible.

Two things I wasn't familiar with, could've had instruction sheet handy: 1. how to start the car with the key fob. 2. where the gas cap was located, and that there was no gas door release button to find inside the truck.

Even though small and somewhat worn, the location was clean and the retailing area well laid out and stocked. All but one of the staff was friendly and accommodating (see below). However, the decades-long situation of poor management and management systems at U-Haul corporate continues. Every transaction on the U-Haul web-site is fraught with contradictions and non-explained site errors, and every visit to a U-Haul location includes employees and/or vendors struggling with the bug-infested U-Haul computer-based management system. Even though I made my reservation at a large U-Haul corporate location just a few blocks from my house, the U-Haul system forced me to drive 40 miles (into another state) to actually pick up my equipment--with only 48 hours advance notice. This is unacceptable, and speaks to major management issues at U-Haul corporate. The only item of concern at this location was that, as a 60 year old severely service-disabled veteran, I required assistance loading and attaching an auto carrier. One of the staff popped up with "company policy says we can't assist" and protested (loudly) that I not be assisted. Thankfully, his colleague ignored him. U-Haul needs to revisit and clarify their "no assistance with auto carriers" policy. If the store had flatly refused to provide assistance, my next calls would have been to my attorney to come document their refusal and then to state and federal ADA enforcement agencies, and posting the situation all over the web--particularly with veterans groups

When we got back we didn’t realize how many extra miles we put on the uhaul. The total came to $108.00. My fiancé and I didn’t expect the cost to be so high and because of that we needed to spilt the cost between two debit cards. The first employee was very nice and accommodating, but when he ran into a computer issue of dividing the payment he needed to grab who I assumed was a manager for assistance. I don’t know the name of this man, but he had a bad attitude about what seemed to be us dividing the bill. Instead of asking us what we wanted to do today he says, “so you don’t want to pay today?” with what appeared to be a snarky question. After pounding on the keyboard and finally understanding what we needed he told us “we’re sorry, we’ll fix this,” in a put off tone. Once finished, he addressed my fiancé instead of the both of us saying, “sorry for the mix up I didn’t see what happened initially with the payment.” I wouldn’t say I had a terrible experience this afternoon, but after moving household items for 5 hours in sub zero temperatures I felt his attitude toward our issue was not warranted. This won’t keep me from doing business next time, but I hope the experience is better when that time comes.

Give a person a chance to move there car. I was moving the van to get it out of the way. I received a call and someone had chased me out of the store. I understand it was a 15 min spot for the car I wasn’t even there 10 min. That was the only down fall. They way it was presented was kind of rude.

The guy whom was taking care of me before and after did know that the money was on hold on my card and still want me to pay in cash. Now uhaul has my cash and my card on hold. I know It will go back but that’s going to take between three and seven days business days that is and I needed my money right away because I am just moving into a new place and I had some little bit of hands and eyes that I had to pick up but now I have to wait for you guys to release my money you guys need to be retrained or how things work

scheduling should stop changing anything about a reservation unless it is confirmed with the customer prior to the change,,,if you do not/cannot get a verbal confirmation of the change then don't change it...I have used uhaul twice in the last two months...each time i called the store most convenient for me made my request and told that i could be accommodate...the associate was friendly, helpful and great representation that assured my reservation and i get a an email with that information....both times the day of my reservation i was told that there was a change to my reservation...both times the time and pickup location had changed drastically from what i confirmed...it caused me a huge inconvenience and stressed the entire moving experience...i do not understand why uhaul cannot be honourable to their word as a reservation is a contract that should be respected,,uhaul corp cares nothing about the people they serve...it is utterly disrespectful to consumers and have a habitual mistrust as being a dependable source...so i am very disappointment with my experience with uhaul company and will pay top dollar to someone other than uhaul in the future with the hope that they will be more professional,
