This reservation was for my mother (80-yrs-old, no email or texting options). My mom got a call stating our pick-up location had changed to a dealer 25 miles away, and the new pick-up time was set for 10:00 am. She called U-Haul and had the time changed back to 8am, at which time, unbeknownst to us, she was given a 24-7 option. She was never informed of this option, and had no way to utilize it anyway. Upon arrival at the second location to pick up the truck at 8:00 am, I noticed the business did not open until 9:00 am. My attempts to call U Haul for a link to access the U-Haul App were unsuccessful, so we were forced to wait for the local dealer to arrive, complete the transaction, and give us the key. I waited until 9:15 am, and seeing no one had opened the store, I then called the location's business number and received an emergency phone number from the voicemail. I called the emergency number and spoke to "Greg," who told me he would meet me in "20 minutes." Upon arrival, before I could say anything, Greg was immediately defensive, belligerent, and completely unprofessional. He seemed more interested in making sure I knew HE was not to blame, than in solving the issue. He even threatened to call his "Field Representative" and withhold the moving truck if I upset him. He also adamantly refused my entry into the store, insisting I had no right to enter. I tried, at one point, to explain to him that my mom has no email account, or smartphone capabilities, to which he replied, "Well, why aren't you helping her, then?" I consider this a disrespectful comment for which there was no call. I am the one who remained calm and tried to resolve the issue even as he grew ever more defensive. I had to remind him I was the customer, and he was the one providing a service for which he was being paid, and maybe we should focus on that. Greg spoke to someone on the phone (I am assuming the aforementioned "Field Representative"), and was immediately more composed. He still felt the need to show me the email originally sent by U-Haul stating the pick-up time was 10:00 am (something I had told him repeatedly was not my concern--I simply wanted the truck, as we had numerous people waiting to help load it). The process was finally completed after 10:00 am. At no time did Greg apologize for his behavior. To sum up: we lost 2 hours of loading time (upsetting those who had come to help in the 10 degree windy weather), and had to drive 50 miles out of our way just to get the truck. As a thank you for the extra effort and inconvenience, I had to deal with an incredibly rude and unprofessional representative of your company.Darren I.
Despite him having tons of work on his hands and being the only worker there , he was very sufficient with setting me up and hooking the trailer up. Called other U-Huals around the area and they where very rude over the phone. So the fact that he was almost closing and very helpful was a 100/10 . Would HIGHLY recommend this place.Michael M.
I spoke to a lady on the fourth and she was above amazing she was able to work with me and was very clear on instructions. The drop off was also amazing the guy who was working there was very nice and very helpful made it very quick and easy thank you so much have a great daysarah K.
