The key was not in the truck as it should have been. After 10 minutes of searching, a lady finally came out and told me she forgot to put the key out. Not a good way to start a stressful day. Then returning, the website requested at least 2 photos of the truck. It had nowhere to upload them so I was totally stuck. I went inside and talked to a guy who had little knowledge of the process. He took the keys and took the info down on a notepad. All around, not a good pickup or dropoff experience.

The guy running the location had no clue - I am using his words- on how to help me. He had to call the owner, who then had to have uhaul call me on my cell. Also, the truck was just under 1/2 full with gas when I got it but since I didn’t get any paperwork when I picked it up I didn’t know uhaul claimed it was over half. Shame on me. I put less than 13 miles on it and they charged me $18 in gas fees. I felt ripped off but didn’t have a leg to stand on because I have no proof where the gauge was. Fool me once... I guess $18 is a cheap lesson to learn.

It was an EXXON Gas Station and Convenience store. Cashier at counter handled the U-Haul transaction. Had to unhitch the heavy trailer myself. It would have been a problem to lift for most people.

I had to remove the trailer myself and then had to wait about 15 minutes for the clerk to try to print a receipt which she was never able to do. Location is part of the gas station and only one clerk they’re running everything.

When I walked in the young lady was on her cell phone. She saw my key and walked over to the computer and asked me for the number. I had no Idea what she was talking about, she said its on your key, I can see it from here. Then asked me what was the mileage on the truck. I said I had no Idea, and handed her the keys. She was not pleasant at all. I had tried to drop off this truck In Balentine on Lancaster Highway. The people at this location refused to take the truck back. They said they did not have room for it. They turned my truck around and handed me the keys back. VERY VERY rude at both locations.

I walked it to check if i was at the right location, and was told i "HAD" to wait for them to check me in. I walked outside and used the mobile check in as your website had said I could.

Personnel tried to turn me away at first based on direction from manager. I was not driving that 27' truck any further since first Uhaul location we drove to did NOT exist. I ended up having to call Uhaul 3 or 4 times and DOING MY OWN RETURN - because personnel was not trained to return trucks. It took 45 minutes to return truck and I was definitely NOT HAPPY - this was totally unacceptable. Cashier was so sweet and did her best. Not sure why manger is not training personnel to do returns.

They were nice, helpful, and competent. As a convenience store with one employee on the floor, they had to put all their counter customers on hold to handle my return, but they did so without complaint. Overall, the return was a decent experience.

Aside from the trailer I rented looking like it went through a tumbler, picking it up took about 15 minutes and the person checking me in did not verify proper connections. I am no expert in hooking up trailers and it would have been nice to know the trailer was hooked up correctly. Seems like a very risky approach by Uhaul. I will try Penske, Budget, or someone else next time.

The girl who rented to is clearly didn’t know what she was doing. She had to call her mother while I was trying to rent it and she told me I didn’t have a reservation even though I had confirmation. She miraculously found it after the 3rd time I told her to look. She did not assist us in hooking the trailer up, a taillight was out on the trailer and she did not help us at all. I’m am beyond livid about this experience, that location should not be in business.
