The walk around and inspection should be done with the customer present before the contract is made same with the damage inspection... in my case after I paid for the rental , I walked around the new vehicle and found damage , and a difference in fuel level. It was almost a 1/4 tank less then on the contract.. apparently the fuel had been siphoned between drop off and delivery to me... the damage to the truck was previously found before I rented it and noted, however it wasnt shown to be that it was noted.. I went back to the sales person to show them what I found. The looked up and saw the damage was done before me. But the gas issue couldn't be fixed because the contract was already completed.. their regional manager had the sales person note it on my paperwork, and initial where the gage indicated the fuel actually was at when I received the vehicle... if I hadn't noticed the difference it could have costed me an additional $40 plus dollars in fuel I didnt use. And that is a lot of money that I would have been responsible for if I didn't inspect the truck myself. So yes the inspections should be done with the customer first before the the paperwork is completed.... on a final note this truck was new with less than 40,000 miles on it and it was a pleasure to drive , and the best part was the Drivers seat, the back rest was adjustable and it had a lumbar adjuster also. It was a ford truck.. so a note to anyone renting a truck, inspect the truck FIRST BEFORE YOU RENT.. IT COULD COST YOU $$$$ THOUSANDS IN DAMAGE REIMBURSEMENT, AND COST YOU $40 OR MORE IN FUEL COST, DUE TO FUEL BEING SIPHONED OUT BETWEEN RENTALS.!!!!! ....

I spoke with Angie for my rental unit. Although I had tried to make a reservation on line, I was not successful. But!, Angie found a reference to my cell phone# with my daughters name. We laughed, and Angie was VERY able to follow through with the rental - and provide me with the truck I needed. Angie DID also tell me, the charge of my rental was a TWO-DAY RENTAL, and if I turned in my vehicle before the TWO-DAY period, I would be entitled a partial refund of the charges. She said I shoud let the receiving Agent know I had a refund to process. The receiving Agent told me he could not process a refund because the transaction was completed thru the original site. I did have my daughter contact Angie on my behalf, about a (partial) refund for my rental - as I was traveling... Angie has promised to look into the rental. I DO FEEL, I should be granted a refund of ONE-DAY EQUIPMENT RENTAL ($70.00) and 1/2 of the Safe Move Coverage ($14.00) (plus taxes) because I was told I would be eligible for a refund. Also, the U-Haul clerk at the drop-off, was mostly disinterested in my question of refund; he printed off a $0.00 receipt, and said he had nothing to do with the payment; it was handled at the equipment rental location.
