Business was closed so we followed the instructions on the key drop box and left. Only later in the day I received a text that gave me a link to use when we dropped off the truck. Spent 25 minutes on the phone with a fabulous gentleman (Zach I believe his name was) that called around to different departments making sure we completed the necessary steps for returning the truck and not requiring me to go back to the drop off location to use the online system. IMO, it was a wonderful experience with one big glitch: not being told we had to check in online after we dropped off the truck. Maybe include this info at the time of reservation, in the email confirmation, and make the texts a little more blunt (you must check-in online when you drop off the truck) so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. The customer service was fantastic when I called so I am truly not complaining.... great price, great truck, great interactions with the 3 people I did talk to.

Every time I rent from U-Haul I am told to sweep and clean out the truck or I will be charged. I picked up my van and opened the back to find it definitely was not swept out ( I have pictures if you care to see). When I went to get in, there was trash in the cab. I onbiously returned it the same way I received it.

Had to search for someone to help me. Unit was not checked in at time of drop off. No paperwork provided at time of drop off. Unit still was not checked in 5 days later resulting in a call from Unaul stating charges for late drop off.

Well I went to wheeling to pick up the truck and couldn’t even find it. I called and guy said truck was in highland park. Seriously?!?! So I have to drive from wheeling to highland park and the guy didn’t even know where the HP location was. I will not recommend uhaul. I live inNorthbrook so I would have liked a text or something to get it in HP. People were nice in HP but I question uhaul. Customer service was great though. Come up with a better system please.

Did not have the dolly that was supposed to be added by the U-Haul rep I spoke to on the phone. There were furniture pads on my contract I didn't select. I called U-Haul customer service to switch that to hand truck (dolly) and it didn't get changed. Location representative didn't have a hand truck but gave me an appliance dolly in place of furniture pads.

The system used for pick up is very frustrating. We requested one location and had to go to a different location for pick up. Time was of the essence and we could not get our equipment as early as needed and had to travel further for it which really disrupted our schedule. The tank was only 3/4 filled which was annoying. I will think twice about renting again to be honest. I can’t say I would recommend U-haul.

We had no confirmation that this was the location we needed to pick up at and when I did show up to pick up he was rude and used foul langue blaming the corporate trafficking for the mistake. Find a different local vendor to run this branch.

The truck seemed newer and in great shape. Just take a wet rag and wipe the dashboard. So many times I rent a car or truck it seems like the owner has never wiped off the inside. It takes 30 seconds and it makes a huge difference. The customer is inside the vehicle the whole time and that's what they see.

Took 30 minutes to use the mobile app to pick up this van, absolutely ridiculous verification system- you need to call a second contact person AND a relative??? Then when all that was finished, there was no key and no one working at this place at 8:30am on a Sunday morning to give us the damn key after 45 minutes of waiting! Finally the shop owner showed up and my husband had to do the entire process AGAIN. We will never, EVER rent from Uhaul again. Waste of money and time.
