Tried to overcharge. Charged three days on a two day rental. Just dont have the extra money during this times. Nor the time 2 hours to get my 45 dollars back either. Poor job all around.

I needed to take a second trip to get all my stuff and would have preferred a smaller truck for the second trip. So I thought I'd call and see if one was available. The gentleman there couldn't tell me what was available it what was going to be available that night. And despite asking to be called if something came back, I never heard from him at all. And yet, after I had to make a 5hr round trip in a 26' truck, he had the audacity to call me and ask me to bring the truck I had rented back early. And when I brought it back, he tried to tell me I needed to put the furniture pads I rented in bags! That folding them wasn't enough!!!
Attendant was from a car sales lot, so of course he attempted to peddle his primary business. He reviewed the entire vehicle in my presence which I thought was thorough and professional. However, I noticed there was a fuel charge afterwards which I forgot to document by taking a picture, which I could have disputed had I known to cover that basis. Charge an extra day as well even though I asked to have the vehicle until the Monday when I originally booked it. I likely should have reviewed the statement more thoroughly but I did not catch it. The attendant also refused to accept the trailer I rented so I had to go to another location 45 minutes away.
The electrical connection failed during the rental period. Connection was corroded and damaged, basically in very poor condition, i have photos. I had to drive without indicators, hazard and brake lights on the trailer.
Representative at this location was hard to deal with. Had no knowledge of trailers , trucks ,cars or anything. Spent about 2 hours in total trying to rent trailer. He was not at the location even though it said open. The second day I came he left while I tried to rent trailer. Two other customers left not happy. U Haul has good products but their outlets are terrible. Usually run by new Canadians that want to make a buck but are clueless about computers or the units they are renting. Very dissatisfied.
This location did it's best to accommodate my moving needs. The manager of this location explained in detail what I needed to do to pick up and return the rental. He also was most apologetic about having to down grade my order. I am not disappointed with this manager, but am most disappointed with U-Haul for not having a larger size truck available for our move.
Onsite there were no available trailer electrical hook-up adapters. The trailer has a 4 pin plug, and most pick-up truck models have an OEM 6 07 7 blade receptacle. I had to drive to another location to find a store that sells adapters. This presents a safety hazard as the trailer lights were not functioning.
Owner unable to explain discrepancies in charges have involved the police to listen in on explanations Am reaching out to you for help. Process not consistent with other uses of Credit card in other stores

Worst experience with all the years renting from uhaul. After standing time booking my truck in-line got there. This idiot told me I couldn't have the truck for 24hrs, I couldn't get the truck without leaving a second phone number, told me I must bring back the truck clean and to to it off he called me Friday evening to ask what time I would be bring back the truck. If you can't have decent reliable people as your reps close up the location. It's not worth the stress. As you know moving things around is already stressful enough. Having a jackals to deal with makes matters worst. I will be moving my business to another company.
Honestly, it was great. Covid inspections have hit this location hard, and they can only have one customer in the office at a time. So we had to have a very firm drop off and pick up time. But moving is a hard thing to maintain a perfect schedule. We tried our best. And the site did their best to accommodate us.
Due to COVID-19, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation has extended expiry dates on all licenses that expired on or after March 1st, until further notice. My license expired between this date and my rental, but despite the extenuating circumstances (and despite my having completed an online check-in with no flags for the "expired" date), I was not allowed to rent the truck when I arrived in person at the location. I noticed that the U-Haul office made masks mandatory and only allowed one customer inside at a time, so U-Haul was clearly aware of COVID-19, and making adjustments accordingly. I don't understand why similar adjustments on a governmental level that clearly apply to vehicle rental companies like U-Haul would not be taken into account. The man at the office made it clear that this was company policy, so I think that U-Haul could do a couple of things to improve its service: - Be aware of local driving laws/exceptions related to COVID-19, and adjust its policies accordingly - Have a COVID-19 section on the online check-in that specifically addresses expired licenses (and anything else that might be relevant, like extra health and safety requirements). While the truck we got was reasonably clean, I did notice part of a candy bar wrapper on the floor of the passenger seat, as well as dirt on the higher part of the truck bed, near the cab (which we did not use). Again, especially given COVID-19, I would have expected a higher standard of cleaning on the trucks. It made me wonder what disinfection had been missed from when the previous person rented it. We were emailed the contract, rather than having a paper copy, which made things more difficult than they needed to be when we went to return the U-Haul at my destination. I did not have a printer set up and barely had internet when we returned the vehicle, so we were not able to provide the information that the personnel at the other end asked for (contract number, etc.). I would imagine that the lack of a printer/internet set-up before truck return would be a common situation for people who are using U-Haul services to move, so paper copies would make things easier. We were satisfied with the performance of the truck, and grateful to have had equipment that was easy for someone with relatively little truck driving experience to manage.

Reservation process very poor at corporate level. Franchise owner was unable to process credit card payment, requiring cash + deposit. On return, no cash on hand other than deposit funds, so refund was short a few dollars. Most important - no adapter available to accommodate 4-pin to 7-pin electrical hookup. Told to â€œtake the riskâ€!
