These guys saved the day for me. Uhaul central screwed up our contract when I changed the credit card we wanted to use. Uhaul changed our drop off from Grass Valley to Sacramento - 60 miles away!!!! Sierra Tire made it right after numerous phone calls to Haul central wouldn't/couldn't help. I will go back to Sierra Tire any day - they know how to treat customers!

The guys at Sierra Tire are extremely friendly and helpful and take the time to answer any questions you may have. They keep lots of uhaul supplies and trucks on hand to make your move easy.



Did not provide receipt. When I asked for one, he said it was emailed. I never got it and had to call back to get it. I checked the uhaul website and mobile app and cannot find it. I just don't have the time to do everyone else's job for them. Poor service across the board.

I'm waiting for paper work to get done as it is almost a month and they gave me someone else paper work so I do not know what they really charged me. No help from U-Haul on the phone or by email so far. On the phone as I'm writing this so far 10 times and nothing so far.

The guys on East Main did fine, but I give a triple zero to Ronda Kelly, who handled my request for the $50 guarantee that the U-Haul site promises. I reserved a pickup truck for 8 am on July 13. At 6:46 pm on July 12, someone called me from U-Haul (916-929-9739) to say that the truck wouldn't be available. She offered alternatives, but I really needed that particular truck at that location for an early morning rental. Since she didn't know when they'd have a pickup again, I suggested that I start over with a new reservation. She countered that I should just let the reservation stand and modify it when the equipment came available. At 10:15 am on July 13, someone, perhaps the same person, called from the same U-Haul phone number to ask me if I still wanted the truck; I explained that as far as anyone had told me, there was no truck at that location. I subsequently rented a truck on July 14 and did my work, but in the meantime, I applied for the $50 guarantee (complaint #1464946), described in the following language: "When you make a truck or trailer reservation, we guarantee to provide you with the equipment size, location, and pick up time as agreed. Should you not receive the equipment size, location, and pick up time you agreed to, U-Haul will compensate you $50." Ronda Kelly responded as follows: "it appears that you were contacted on 7/12 with different options that we had which unfortunately did not include a pickup at your preferred location at your preferred time. Our other options were declined as you opted to wait for the pick up truck to become available only at your preferred location. With that being said you do not qualify for the $50 guarantee as we do not guarantee your preferences, but the equipment if we can come to an agreement on model, place, and time." Note that the last part of the last sentence isn't even coherent. I replied and re-stated my case for the guarantee; she didn't reply, so I sent her a message to ask to speak to her supervisor, and she ignored that, too. It is clear that I qualified for the guarantee: I'd made a reservation that U-Haul was unable to honor. The point is less the $50 and more a promise that U-Haul made to me and then, via their employee, Ronda Kelly, failed to keep.

Good owners but check the truck and windows for not only cleanliness but that the brakes, tires and operating equipment is in good working order. My truck had the following issues that UHaul refused to make good on: 1. I was told by the pick up location that UHaul would not pay to move my load from my truck to another if it was determined that my truck was not operable which in my opinion it was. I confiemed later with uHaul that they would in fact pay for a "transload". 2. The brake drums were badly warped. 3. The alignment was way off. 3. Truck had either a broken/worn shock or bad tire. Vibrated the cab all the way. Enough vibration that the drivers door rattled in the cab frame. Being a mechanic I know what causes these problems and after dropping the truck off and complaining to UHaul was told that after an inspection there were no problems. The truck drove horribly and Uhaul refused to take responsibility or to compensate me in any way. If I ever have the chance to rent at Ryder for their newer and cleaner trucks, that's what I'll do and I recommend you do the same.

Give customers information about where the trucks can actually go. I moved on 4/29/17. I have a steep driveway - as most of them are in my area. The truck would not go up the driveway forward or backward because the truck sat so low to the ground. My 26' truck was fully with all of my furniture and wouldn't make it up the driveway, so I ended up having to keep the truck overnight until I arranged for pickup trucks and movers to assist me the following day. We had to unload the truck into the pickups load by load, then unload again at the top of the driveway. I had to pay the movers for a full additional day. I had to find another place to stay for that night. As soon as I got there, I called Sierra Tire & Trailer Center where I rented the truck and explained the situation. They had the truck rented for the next day, but with all of my belongings in it, they would not be able to rent it. They charged me a $50 charge for their loss of the planned rental and doubled the charges for the truck and supplies. I have no issue with that. That's fair. Then they charged me an additional $100 for cleaning. I had examined the truck myself after the movers swept it out and it was totally clean. When I called about the $100 charge for cleaning, I was told that there was pet hair in the truck. I don't even have a pet, so I don't know how that is possible. I have talked to friends who used Sierra Tire & Truck Center who also had negative experiences with them. They said, "I would never go there again". I left a voicemail on their phone when I realized that I wouldn't be able to get the truck back that night at 12:54 AM on 4/30/17. At 9:00 AM on 4/30/17, I got a call from the Theft and Fraud Dept. of U-Haul insinuating that I had stolen their truck. I called back and was yelled at by their employee that the people who came to pick up the truck waited for 2 hours for it to arrive. I pointed out that I left a message at 12:54 AM. They could have directed the people to another U-Haul location. I personally know that there was a 26' truck available at a nearby location. I was told that they were busy in the morning and didn't have time to check their voicemails. In business, the first thing you do is check your messages so you know how to deal with the events of the day. Anyway, that is their problem; I don't want it to be yours. I have lost $100 due to a fictitious claim of pet hair, the cost of the movers for an additional day and doubling my U-Haul costs because the trucks are limited in their ability. Just want to let others know that you should discuss these issues before renting a U-Haul truck and when you do, I DO NOT recommend Sierra Tire & Trailer Center.

I was originally made a reservation over the internet. I then called in 4 days prior to reservation to move my pickup of the rental truck one day earlier. When I went to pick up the truck it was not at the location I originally reserved it for. I was never notified of the change. I had to drive 20-30 mins one way to pick up at new location. Customer service at this location was great. However I called the next day to get a trailer and I was quoted one price over the phone then when I went to pay it was $100 more. I called uhaul customer service twice and was informed a manager would call me back within 72 hours. I never received a call back and it's been 7 days. Overall the worst experience on a move! Would not recommend uhaul to anyone.

BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION! Make sure you do the walk around of the vehicle PRIOR to signing ANYTHING in the office!!! They will try to force you to sign that the equipment is clean and in good shape and THEN let you do the walk around, but at that point you've already signed that everything is ok and any damage is now your fault. Don't fall for that like I did!

Get rid of the "drop-off number" and Rhonda in traffic, who tried to force us to return your equipment to a town other than the one specified on our Signed contract. All other persons dealt with were professional and the caliber I've come to expect over the last 30+ years of doing business with U-Haul. With my reservation I had grass Valley location for drop off somewhere along the way I was instructed I was going to need to go to Auburn California for drop off which would've been an 80 mile round trip one way which I would've had to do twice that was totally unacceptable it took me hours of frustration to get it squared away I'm not happy about that

When I tried to speak to this office about the drop off issue they did nothing to help me and even tried to over charge me by trying to charge me an extra day charge even though I dropped it off in time. The employee initially said he was charging me the extra day because I wasn't dropping it off where I was told to. An extra day charge has nothing to do with where I drop it off. In one transaction UHaul tried to connive money out of me twice.

Improve the express registration. It is not user friendly. It didn't really save me much time and I ended up getting insurance which I didn't want. I was in a hurry and did not want to go over the entire registration process again at the rental office.
