The truck was dirty and the check engine light came on as soon as I started the engine. I will never use U-Haul again after this experience. I was moving to California from Louisiana. You would think people at U-Haul would recognize this and set me up with the best equipment. This wasn't the case. The day before we had loaders coming to load the truck I got a text message stating that the location I picked for my pick up didn't have the equipment that I had rented. They gave me an alternative location. I called this location and they told me the truck was 2005 with 200,000 miles on it. I told them there was no way I was driving this 2000 miles and that I needed a newer truck. I spent 3 hours trying to find two 26' trucks, 120 pads, 2 furniture dollies, and 1 refrigerator dolly. I had to go to 3 different locations to get all the things I needed for a move that I schedule a month in advance with U-haul. These locations were over 20 miles 1 way from the house I was moving out of. Very poor planning on U-haul's part and terrible customer service when I called in for help. They kept referring me to a regional scheduler. I shouldn't have been the one that had to chase down trucks and pads. I also went through U-Haul to get someone to load the truck in Louisiana and unload in California. They need to do a better job of screening these companies too. Very unprofessional, with young kids that didn't have a clue how to pad up the furniture so it wouldn't get damaged. I spent 6 hours in the truck making sure everything was padded properly and loaded in the truck correctly. You would think after spending $6,000 I would haven't gotten better service. Live and learn. Next time I will pay more and use a van line.

This was the third stop trying to drop off a trailer. The first one would not accept but she was on her way to lunch anyway. The second was out to lunch. The third was excellent and couldn't ask for better customer service. The other two, need work.

Well, I reserved online and I requested Baton Rouge Pick-up and Drop-off. I was notified on Monday May 27 that the trailer was not available at the location I wanted in Baton Rouge but there was one available 4 miles away at 10466 Airline Hwy. I was scheduled for pick-up at 1:00 pm. Then Thursday I was notified 5:41 that my reservation was scheduled for 1:00 pm pick-up. At 6:56 pm the same day I was notified the it was on 12608 Arline Hwy in Gonzales, LA. This was out of my way but I needed it. So why did I have to pay for a one-way rental when I was notified the day before the rental and 1 hour 25 minutes later that I had to go out of town to get the trailer. I was notified by the pick-up location that I would have to pay the one-way rental and I was never notified that picking up outside of Baton Rouge in Gonzales that I would incur this charge. I would like to be refunded the difference in the charge between a local rental and a on-way rental because I was never notified prior to pick-up that I would be charged because U-haul could not a trailer available in Baton Rouge even though I was notified the day before.

I was overcharged for mileage. I took a picture of the miles before I moved the truck, and when I parked the truck back at uhaul. Those pictures are time stamped. I used 8.6 miles. I was charged for 26.6 miles. I want to be refunded for the unused mileage.

We requested an appliance dolly & 2 dozen blankets. When we arrived, they tried to give us a utility dolly, furniture dolly, appliance dolly, & blankets. I told her we only needed the appliance dolly & blankets. She then informed us that they didn’t actually have any of that equipment for us. It would’ve been nice to know that they weren’t able to complete our order. The blankets we were given were filthy.
Tiffany was very polite. Other than her, it wasn't a good experience at all with this reservation.

The truck was nice and clean. The dolly I paid $10 for was not present. I was more concerned about moving our stuff before the rain than I was about waiting around for a dolly at a location that was supposedly closed at that time, forcing us to check in online. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE ALL EQUIPMENT BEING RENTED TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AVAILABLE TO THEM ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PICKUP IS SCHEDULED ON A CLOSED DAY!!
