Great service and friendly workers!
I did expend an hour just to get the truck. When I did return it I did not the new procedure since nobody was at the counter. I returned the keys but I didn't take any pictures that not required. On Top of that I called for help and they told me that they will charge me $20 dollars for no doing the photos.
The store opened at 11am. However, there were signs that said they were closed due to COVID-19. The mechanic informed us that the U-Haul would not be opening which led to us scrambling to find a truck for the move that day. We couldn't find one and decided to return to the original location...they were open. Better communication during these difficult times would be appreciated.
The cabin was dirty and the pickup process was extremely difficult and we could not contact anyone in a timely manner.
the cargo van was fine, although it was low on washer fluid. The attendee at the location was almost 30 minutes late. I scheduled an 11:00 am pickup, pre-registered and confirmed online, but no one was at the location until approximately 11:30 am.
Have vehicle clean in and out. Dropped off vehicle before location was open with the same amount of fuel I left with and was charged for 4 gal. of gasoline even though I had only driven 25 miles.

I locked my eye glasses in truck and can't reach anyone to retrieve them. That's ridiculous.

First truck had wrong mileage (off by about 2,000 miles) and wrong tank level (it was about half, not full as indicated online). Tried to pick up with cell phone, but would not let me update correct mileage and fuel, even with pictures submitted. Had to go Inside to work with the one guy workin at gas station location. He was on the phone for awhile about it, couldn't update data in the system, had to rent me a different truck which took an extra 20 minutes or so. Also, the 2nd truck was I suppose clean by Uhaul truck standards for a vehicle with 130,000+ miles, but as with most Uhauls I've rented, it was a bit rough inside and could use a good vacuum and wipe down once in awhile. However, I come to expect this from Uhaul. I normally rent Penske for longer trips, but for short in town, Uhaul only wins out for convenient pickup and drop off locations, definitely not for the quality and cleanliness of trucks.
The whole renting experience was very satisfactory.
I was charged $20 for not enabling location services to show that I returned the truck. I returned the truck on time. The link was not worth at all late in the night.
A strong comment for your U-Haul pickup location, 16804 Oakmont Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD: This location is not reliable at all. Their open hours on their doorstep is basically useless. I strongly advise U-Haul to remove this place as a service spot.
I reserved at 19304 Monthomery Village In Germantown for a 930am pickup. When I get there the employee tells me that there are no trucks available when a reservation had already been made by me. This didn't go well with me as I needed the truck to move and it wasn't there. Then I got sent to another location which was a few miles away. That location charged me a higher price than the one I was quoted. Not sure why. As it was not my fault that the first location didn't have the truck they said they were going to have. After picking up the truck I got an email that my drop off location had been changed. I had no idea why as I didn't request the change. This was a problem because this second drop off location was miles away which would cause me to go over the 77 miles threshold I had for one day. Now I would need to pay extra. When I called customer service. They did not know why the location was changed neither did they say why the price of the rental truck was changed though I had nothing to do with it. I was the one who was in convenes. Not happy at all with the way things went.
have all of the things ordered available. I needed a dolly and had it included in my order but when I got there they did not have any. they didn't offer any suggestions or options for how to get one. The move was insanely difficult without a dolly and extremely frustrating. The lack of giving a rats ass about me (the customer) and my need for a dolly during the move was something I will not forget - and I will not use U-haul again. The truck I was given had brake issues - the ABS light was lit half the time and the brake pedal would push to the floor when applied about one in every 10 times i used the brakes, it almost caused an accident once - glad I know to pump the brakes to fix it quickly. I told the guy that checked the truck in about the brakes but his lack of ability to comprehend the english language did not allow him to understand the truck had an issue.That truck still has a brake and I hope its fixed before someone gets hurt!!! My perception of U-Haul is terrible!!!
The customer service was pretty standard for Maryland--a lack of friendliness with a mindset of just getting the job done. BUT, the condition of the truck was substandard beyond belief. First, it was parked under a tree and caked in bird poop from the windshield to the driver's side door. Second, as soon as I opened the door, I was smacked in the face with the undeniable stench of smoke. To my surprise, I found a cigarette butt in the cup holder, a sizable pile of ashes INSIDE the cab on the passenger side, and (wait for it) A POUCH FILLED WITH MARIJUANA PARAPHERNALIA! I'm talking a glass bowl, a pill bottle, a lighter, the works! I decided to start the engine before I turn in Smokey the Dragon to see if everything else was in order and (surprise, surprise) the tire pressure light was on. The employee said it was due to the temperature change. However, towards the end of my move, the dash began flashing a warning stating that the tire pressure was low in the right rear tire and the tire monitoring system needed to be replaced. I mean, the truck didn't crap out on me and I got everything moved in one trip. But I did consider just strapping everything to my back as well, so, yeah.

I wasn't happy I had to pay for an extra day just because I was a few mins late. There's should a grace period. Since I technically used it for 1 day.
Glad to be able to rent a truck for a few hours but was more expensive for mileage than needed to be. Communication could've been better too. When I called two full days in advance to reserve a truck the contact â€œSantosâ€ said just come in and we'll handle everything quickly at the location. It was not clear-cut process and luckily I had my hand-held phone to aid with the process, my personal phone. It was slower and more cumbersome than I would've expected. They said their internet was not working. Because of this I feel a discount should've been applied.
